"The rooms were booked at extremely short notice, so we were happy and relieved to find the rooms to be clean and of a good size. The kitchen and bathing facilities were excellent, together with air conditioning made for a very comfortable stay. The staff were also very helpful and accommodating. The location was good with several bars/restaurants within a short walk of the apartments. However the busy main road might make families with small children wary.
There are two points that anyone who wants to book this place should be aware of. The first is security. When we stayed the three ground floor apartments were easily accessible through two front doors that had no lock and were frequently left open during the day for ventilation according to the manager. We found a cleaner had left a key in one the apartment doors. Since reception was located on the first floor, any one could easily have entered the apartment without being seen or challenged.
Second point is this facility could be enhanced with on-site catering and bar facilities. But since there are nearby establishments it's the security issue that's most important."

The Good:
Peace and quiet, finally! The environment is calm, and the room exceeded my expectations for the price. There’s a massive car park, an event area, and a restaurant that does both local and continental dishes pretty well. Staff are polite, genuinely helpful, and make you feel welcome. There’s a swimming pool, a gym (more on that later), and even a mall just about 700 meters away...an easy walk if you’re feeling adventurous.
The Not-So-Good:
Let’s just say this place is spiritually located in Accra, but physically… not so much. It’s quite a trek from the city center. The gym needs serious rehab — most of the equipment has clearly seen better days. Accessibility is also tricky; ride-hailing apps often drop you at the wrong gate, and the access road isn’t exactly a joyride.
Verdict:
Overall, I had a good stay. It’s quiet, comfortable, and great value — if you’re not planning to spend most of your time inside Accra. Otherwise, pack snacks and patience for the commute. PEACE"

In the evenings they play some music and it’s a lovely place to relax and enjoy if you don’t feel like going out. You can have a drink and they even have shisha if you like. The waitress Catherine at breakfast time was absolutely lovely! Warm and helpful and friendly, we really missed her when she wasn’t around on the weekend. The one thing I didn’t like about our stay was that some of the front desk staff seemed to have a bit of an attitude towards us because we had extended multiple times and chose to do so through trip as it’s cheaper than the USD rates that the hotel charges directly. They said that what we paid through trip was too little however, we didn’t make those rates so I found that a bit rude. The whole hotel operates on USD rates so for value added services like laundry or transportation it can be very overpriced.

We had to wait a long time before getting the key although booking in advance. As a world traveler, this gap was very notable and one that can be easily addressed. It’s however a great place to stay.

FFarid ECe n'est pas un hôtel c'est plutôt un condo / airbnb. Le studio est très bien tout ce qu'il faut pour être autonome. Et les équipements en commun piscines salle de gym haut de gamme piscine en roof top plus tranquille. Un terrain de basket/ tennis en roof top. Un très bon rapport qualité pour la région . Je vais y revenir très souvent

This is the 3rd guesthouse/hotel that we stayed at while in Ghana as we weren't satisfied with the other places and I must say we loved it! The only disadvantage was that the Bolt and taxi drivers had a hard time locating it even though we gave them the address.
We later learned that the best way to direct a driver is by telling them a particular landmark, so in our case, the landmark was a restaurant called ”Odu Rice” which is right in front of American Mall. The area is also a bit noisy in the morning, but we didn't let it bother us too much as we went out each day.

I stayed at Paintsiwa Wangara Apartments from Wednesday 12 November to Monday 17 November, right in the lively Osu area of Accra—close to great food spots, Republic Bar, street markets, and everything you’d want if you’re exploring the city for the first time. The location alone earns major points.
The Vibe: Early-2000s Nostalgia Trip
The apartments feel like they were built in the early 2000s… and then politely left exactly as they were. If you’ve ever wondered what hotel living felt like in the late 90s/early 2000s, wonder no longer—this place is a living museum.
But honestly? I didn’t mind it. It has charm, just not the modern kind.
Privacy Level: Maximum
I didn’t see a single other guest my entire stay. Not one.
So if you want absolute peace, quiet, and zero human interaction, this is your sanctuary.
The staff and security are genuinely lovely—but they also leave you completely alone unless you ask for something, which I personally appreciated.
The Apartment Itself
Spacious with a kitchen, dining area, living space, and balcony.
Very DIY. Think: “you can relax here, but also… good luck.”
The facilities are dated, visibly worn, and at times “under construction,” particularly in the corridors.
The kitchen feels more suited for long-term stays, and the bathroom definitely remembers the early 2000s fondly.
The TV is modern, the A/C works, and once the water pressure fixed itself after Night 1, showers were fine.
A Note on Safety… of the Appliances
The electric stovetop had some questionable wiring—I got a little tingly current running through me when I touched it.
Not in a romantic way.
More in an “oh, that’s electricity” way.
Breakfast: A Highlight
Breakfast was a delight—delivered to my door every morning between 8:00 and 8:45am.
Good portions, a mix of European-style options, fruit, and drinks.
I genuinely felt special receiving it every morning.
(Just note: no breakfast on weekends, but the price is reasonable enough that it’s not a dealbreaker.)
Wi-Fi & Reception
Wi-Fi was initially a challenge from my room in the annex, but once I asked the staff for the correct password, it worked fine.
Reception is chilled and helpful—day or night.
Housekeeping only happens if you request it. Otherwise, you’re left in peace.
Security
Strict about logging visitors, which I appreciate.
It feels like a safe place, and the guards are friendly and professional.
The Overall Experience
Is it perfect? No.
Does it need investment? Yes.
Does the wiring need prayer? Also yes.
Should the owner consider a renovation? Absolutely.
But despite all that, I liked staying here.
It gave me:

I loved my time in Accra, and this apartment gave me a calm home base between adventures. Just don’t expect luxury or modern hotel standards—this is a 3-star apartment complex that does exactly what a 3-star place should do.
If you’re self-sufficient, easygoing, and looking for space and quiet, this is a solid choice.
If you want polished finishes, daily housekeeping, and flawless facilities—you’ll need to look elsewhere.
