"My stay started with a big smile of the guy at the reception. He was very kind. As all staff is great. Good quality beds and mattresses in the dorms. Free drinking water and wifi. You must download the hostels app to open your room and locker (by Bluetooth) but it worked fine. Location pretty good, only about 3km to Kasol. If you don't have your own transport, there are often buses. I recommend this hostel to other backpackers."

"Yalakhom is situated at a remote yet accessible village in Himachal Pradesh called - Kalgha. Kalgha comes in the way to Kheerganga Trek, so those who are planning to go for the trek may consider staying at Yalakhom, as it is a great place to rewind and relax. I stayed at Yalakhom in the first week of June, the weather was pleasant and the rains made my stay even more pleasurable. When you will be at Yalakhom there won’t be any view you could take your eyes off. The people managing the homestay are also great. They take their time in cooking food, but they will serve you the freshest food possible with wide variety to choose from, that too at such a remote place. The wonderful folks at Yalakhom also offer accompanied guidance for treks, however I wasn’t aware of this until my final day at Yalakhom, so I couldn’t make use of the same. Pemba bhai, Agrimji, Resham bhai and Yangzee didi must be specifically mentioned. They will accomodate you as you are their friend, while respecting your privacy at the same time. I highly recommend Yalakhom notwithstanding your purpose of vacation, be it trekking or taking a peaceful break at the Himalayas."

"I had a good stay overall. The location is excellent—right in the main area with easy access to everything you might need. There's also free limited public parking nearby, which is definitely a plus. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout. However, the on-site café felt a bit overpriced for what it offers. More concerning was the electricity issue. There were frequent power outages, and the property doesn't seem to have an adequate back-up power supply, which was quite inconvenient at times."
