Let me start by saying that if you are a foreign passport holder, don’t worry, they welcome everyone.
In terms of cleanliness, this house defines the meaning of “sparkling clean.” It is literally spotless. The guesthouse is decorated so beautifully. The tea setup, the garden, the little balcony for breakfast, everything feels special.
The bed is extremely comfortable, and everything works perfectly. I will 100% stay here again if I am in the area and will recommend it to all my friends."

"The stay in this hostel went very well, I recommend any good traveller to come here, the rooms are clean there are provisions of shower gel and shampoo, the bed is quite comfortable and it is not too noisy because well insulated, moreover the tea is of very good quality, in the evening the other travellers meet to play, talk or drink or stay close to the barbeque. "還是那句話，林子大了什麼鳥都有！so本來很好的一個池子總是1-2個攪屎棍毀了。
我之所以選擇菜菜美宿：1是因為房間面積寬廣25-30平方米；另外一家4人間or6人間衹有12-15平吧我沒記錯的話。另外感謝攜程積分幫我抵扣掉一些錢，2個晚上才23元；比之前在喀什青旅還便宜…太倦了。
2、説實話下了灰機後打車一進村，我心裏有點涼，but前台小姑涼特別瘦，一手拎我的行李箱、一手拿手提布袋，媽呀……房間很充裕下，前台小姑涼挨個帶我看了一下，我直接從8人間換到6人間，陽面。體諒我一個北方人如此熱愛陽光。
3、看到菜菜boss後，發覺是個非常年輕的姑娘，雖然説話温温柔柔、慢慢地，很親切，完全沒有任何架子，but接人待物非常麻利且反應速度。面相也好，一定是心地善良、友善之人。當晚出去吃飯，菜老闆貼心的説要是找不回來給她打視頻。結果走丟了；給菜菜打視頻，找回來…
4、當晚好睡一夜，從晚上10點多到第二天早上快9點；我的眼罩、耳塞、安眠葯都沒有用上，因為特別特安靜。由於朝陽的房間窗户對着院子，起初還擔心會很吵，結果多餘了；房間內小室友們睡覺都沒有呼吸聲…拉上床位簾子，深手不見五指…
5、5、第二天白天跟不認識的青旅小夥伴挨個打招呼，大家反應很熱情，紛紛加入聊天、相約去茶咖博覽會、晚上玩牌、打麻將or狼人殺…氛圍巨好…當即就立刻決定再訂半個月的床位…2026年12月4日to12月18日。民宿小盆友的素質都很謙虛、友好：
1）每天晚上8點多大家準時在前廳排排坐-狼人殺（一入狼人殺深似海呀，家人們）蘇蘇、橙子🍊、閆老師（青旅小夥伴）簡直了，邏輯爆棚，發言真假難辨。“邏輯”哥，是來搞笑的；邊玩邊學，對新手友好，不會一上來就先斃掉。最瘋狂的時候聯繫其他民宿小夥伴一起狼人殺…（狼人殺後遺症，失眠了，I think 過度使用大腦so強烈要求換單間又訂了一個月多月的房間，知道26年1月底）
2）下鋪小姐姐邀約一起出西盟、孟連玩，小姐姐平時很清冷，沒想到會被邀約，且主打就是坐公共交通，是我特別喜歡的…
3）平時吃飯都是90後小盆友做飯，每一次哦都會被邀約，由於我吃的少，他們都不讓我A錢。索性多幹點活吧…特別是我嗓子發炎了，湖南妹子們居然做清淡，甚至是寡淡菜系，太感動了…
以至於我直接訂了一個月的房間；終於有單間了還是朝陽的（高原的陽光明媚與海島的不一樣，讓人心生寧靜、舒服）
5、蔡老闆很有創意、組織能力強，行動力更強：1）12月21日冬至組織大家包餃子，那會還有好多北方的大哥大姐
2）12月31日跨年，在羣裏徵集玩什麼遊戲；其中有一項是拔河，上至高齡下至幼齡沒有一個人不喜歡的、也包括外國同胞-眼見一個個呲牙咧嘴渾身上下使勁…
Ps這波操作湖南人要火，因為自從廣東大廚離開後，湖南妹子們就承擔起做飯的重任！
總而言之，環境好、氛圍更好（曾經2個時點菜菜家爆滿，連户外帳篷都被徵用了）磁場乾淨！我會再來的😄"

"酒店乾淨舒適，性價比極高。新裝修的房間沒有氣味，鋁合金系統門窗隔音效果好，馬路對面就是石鍋魚，我的最愛走過去不過5分鐘，周邊不少早餐店葯房飯店水果店，我們覺得很不錯連續住2天。之前在平台預訂的雙贏大酒店，到店請前台安排看房，真不靈光，説是2024年裝修，衞生間都是很陳舊痕跡，房間地板也是舊的，前台解釋説是2024年翻修的，不是全部新裝修的，我當即取消訂單改到緣中源酒店，這也是我們自駕遊雲南半個月來第一次取消酒店訂單，下次旅居普洱還會住緣中源酒店。"

AAstrxdThe environment was very comfortable and relaxing. Beautiful view whwre you can see some of the sea of clouds. They give you disposable coverings for you to put on top of the fresh pillow bedding and mattress for extra hygiene which is a nice touch I haven't seen before. Bathroom is very clean, though there are only two toilets and two showers and two sinks, so do note that for busy season, but it wasn't an issue at all during my stay. They provided breakfast too, fresh milk the boss heated for me when I got up, and red sugar glutinous rice cakes wrapped in banana leaves (babas), and it was fun to get ready for the day with new friends on the balcony overlooking the village. I think the environment is very good for meeting new friends and other solo travelers- I arrived at the hostel randomly at the same time as three other girls, and we explored Manghong togetjer on the boss's recommendations for itinerary and sightseeing. And the next day the boss dropped us off at a tea roasting experience, and just as we were heading to Nuogan another girl from the hostel finished her tea roasting session, so we all went to Nuogan togetjer to play. The boss even helped load my luggage onto the shuttle bus so that it could pick me up at a sightseeing spot further down the mountain!

VVieraskäyttäjäThe location had great views over the valley, including the early morning sea of cloud. The property has a rooftop lookout that our group could get together to enjoy the view.
It helped that our taxi could drive through the narrow road of Mengben village and deposit us and our luggage on the doorstep of the homestay. This is unlike Wengji & Nuogang villages, where cars are not allowed to enter the village but deposit visitors at the village carpark.
The hospitality of the owner/hostess was remarkable.
She had a Pu'er tea table and made us endless cups of different tea all grown in her farm, explaining their differences and virtues. She did not charge us a cent for the whole experience. Neither did she try to hard sell the tea leaves although we did buy a small amount off her because we enjoyed the tea. She is a good cook and whipped up breakfast and lunch for us.

VVieraskäyttäjäWe really had a wonderful stay here. It was one of the cleanest and most comfortable accommodations we experienced in Yunnan during our one month trip. If I had to rate our stays, this would be the one I give 10 out of 10.
Our room had a wooden balcony overlooking the neighborhood, a place where I truly felt at home. Sitting there quietly, observing daily life and enjoying the view, made the stay feel especially peaceful and intimate—truly something special.
The owner was genuinely caring and very attentive to our well-being. The family runs their own tea business and also sells their tea at very fair prices.
I especially loved the noodles prepared by the mother. You can add freshly prepared spices according to your own taste. They also offer eggs, sweet potatoes, and corn, all served in a very hygienic and beautifully presented way. For breakfast, there were also other options such as cookies and fresh fruit, so nothing was missing.
It was such a pleasure to return in the evening, enjoy a cup of tea with the owner, and chat with other guests. If you want to experience Bulang hospitality while still enjoying Western-level comfort and cleanliness, this is the perfect place.

SSitao 1985I would love to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the Old Town of Chama. It may be a little tricky to find at first, but just follow Google Maps and you’ll get there easily. From the main gate of the Old Town, it’s only about a 5-minute walk.
The hotel itself is quite new and very clean. The rooms are spacious, the beds are comfortable, and the bathroom facilities and appliances are all modern and high-quality. The soundproofing is excellent—although you might hear music and dancing outside, once inside the room it’s perfectly quiet. The location strikes a nice balance: slightly away from the hustle and bustle, yet just a few steps from plenty of food stalls and restaurants.
What really makes this place special is the owners. They are a warm, welcoming family with parents, an elder sister, and two younger brothers. They don’t speak English, but communication was never a problem—we used Google Translate to chat over cups of delicious tea. If you need anything, you can always ask them. They are very friendly and genuinely do their best to help.

Yyangxm1957客棧位置好，在景邁大寨，去周邊景點都方便，附近還有幾家不錯的餐館。有自家停車場，停車位充足。房間乾淨衞生，隔音好。夜晚寧靜，深山叢林中入睡一般。特別喜歡陽台，尤其坐在陽台品茶，喝咖啡、看星星，賞月色，十分愜意。老闆服務熱情，早餐米線味道不錯。旺季價格不貴，性價比極高，值得推薦！

VVieraskäyttäjäOriginally, i booked only 1 night, with the intention of going onwards to Laos the next day. But i stayed a 2nd night because the room was spacious and the view out of the window was so restful.
About the room, I like it that there is a desk i could work from. And that the shower and WC areas are divided by a screen.
For the 2nd day, my room was refreshed with used toiletries replenished and towels changed. I wish the guesthouse would implement a system where guests are able to indicate if they wish to use the same towels. I am pro-environment, so if i don't change my towels everyday at home, i don't see the need to do so when i am away.
I also like the location as it was easy for me to catch Bus Route 3 to a nearby shopping area (i had KFC breakfast there), cross the road to take Bus Route 8 to Meizi Lake Park. I spent about 3 hours there, including enjoying coffee and cake in the cafe near the entrance to the park. (My biggest regard was i did not get to drink even 1 cup of Pu'er tea while in Pu'er :))
After that I back tracked on Bus Route 8 to change to Bus Route 3 to visit the Tea Horse Ancient City. Then after, I took Bus Route 3 to the shopping centre, had dinner and shopped at Walmart, before catching Bus Route 3 back to the guesthouse.
There is a walking/running track just across the road from the guesthouse. Forget about going the full length of the track. Once you see a slope on the right side, walk up there. You will get a nice viewpoint and there is a nice cafe there. If the weather is right, you get to see sunrise too! I went in the morning, the cafe was closed, so did not patronise the place. Had I known about this cafe, i would have gone there on the 1st day. Perhaps the guesthouse operator could do up a map with information of easily assessible places of interest. This could result in longer stays for free and easy travellers.
Pu'er is a well planned town/city. I like it and will recommend others to spend some time there. Most importantly, do stay at this guesthouse. The surrounding tea plantations will recharge you!

The owners are the nicest persons. They cannot speak English but made me feel at home, helped me plan my stay in Pu'er and even arranged a transfer to Jingmai mountain. I highly recommand this place and would definitely stay there if I ever come back to Pu'er.

VVeraForeign friends: don't stay here. The worst experience I've ever had trying to check in - and I've travelled to many remote places in Yunnan over the past six years.
Staff has no clue about rules and regulations, even though I showed them the most up to date rules for foreigners travelling in China.
They tried to stop me from leaving the hotel because they couldn't figure out how to check me in, even though I was very hungry and tired and wanted to eat and go to bed early.
They came to my room at 10pm but still couldn't figure out how to check me in.
And here is the worst: at 8am the manager opened the door of my room and walked in without knocking. There was no inside lock or chain. Luckily I wasn't in the shower.
Awful place that made me feel extremely unwelcome as a foreigner. They made me feel like a criminal because of their incompetence and stupid actions. Very different from most places where staff is helpful even if it's a bit more complicated.

Yes, it is very loud and you hear everyone. We’ve stayed in other fully wooden places, it’s worse here. Maybe not the wood but the guests are the problem. Loud Chinese people, walking the stairs with the heaviest pace you can imagine. Maybe help the other guests by hanging some warnings on the stairs: please be mindful for the other guests when walking to your room.
Also loud Chinese tourist on the square below. Not only while eating they scream all over the place, also with the tea ceremony nobody asks them to please stop talking after 23:00/24:00. We were up till 02:00AM because of tea drinking Chinese people at the fire. We stayed in the suite, which is located above the fire pit. Maybe the other rooms are less noisy. At 7AM each morning, somebody ran down the stairs. We think it’s the staff. It wakes you up through your earplugs.
The staff is OK. They are very shy, not rude. They could be more pro active though as we didn’t feel like they wanted to do something.. which is different to rude but also not very friendly.
The other villages around are way bigger and less cozy than Wengji. Also, with this guesthouse being just next to the town, it was perfect to escape the tourists most of the time. We didn’t find other accommodations in Wengji with the same aesthetics as Shishi guesthouse so we can’t recommend other places better than this.
Maybe if the guesthouse would invest in trying to keep the noise down under the various guests, with text signs or with clearer house rules (fire pit), the noise problem wouldn’t be as bad.
Maybe if they tried to enthusiast their staff more and keep them from watching Chinese drama shows on their phones all day, they would be a bit more welcoming.
We’ve met a lot of amazing people in Wengji, it’s definitely not the locals that have this behaviour.
Lastly, the suite has a cubicle bathroom in the room, they really don’t clean this well. It smells very bad and just feels dirty all over.
For comfort this place is too expensive, for the location and aesthetics you won’t find better options nearby.

VVieraskäyttäjäErg lieve familie! We werden meteen uitgenodigd voor thee, en ik heb zelfs zelfgemaakte dragonfruitwijn gedronken. Ontbijt en avondeten zijn heerlijk, goed klaargemaakt én wij vonden het ook nog eens goedkoop. Ze zijn bijna altijd in de buurt om te helpen, maar hebben tegelijk duidelijk hun eigen bezigheden — fijne balans.
De accommodatie voelt een beetje als een kleine boerderij: er zijn meerdere dieren aanwezig. Ook zij en de buren hebben superlieve, aanhankelijke hondjes en een kat. Ze stoeien en spelen de hele dag met elkaar en komen graag bij je kijken. Ik werd echt verliefd op de pup van de buren.
Qua prijs is deze plek, vergeleken met andere accommodaties in de omgeving, echt goedkoop. De kamer is prima: niet heel groot, maar groot genoeg (en je bent toch meestal buiten). Het bed is hard, wat wij juist fijn vonden. Het toilet is een squattoilet en er is heet water.
Het gezamenlijke terras is een hoogtepunt: een prachtig uitzicht over de bergen en de vallei, en je kijkt uit op de “sea of clouds” — magisch, vooral in de ochtend.
Wij hadden geen auto, maar konden hier een scooter huren voor 50 yuan per dag. Dat was zó leuk en maakte ons verblijf beter dan we hadden kunnen dromen: we hebben met z’n tweeën het hele gebied verkend.
De bus stopt op ongeveer 1 km afstand, en voor de terugweg naar Pu’er hebben ze ons geholpen met een shared ride. Het is echt een warme familie die met je meedenkt over je reis en die altijd wil helpen.
Als we terugkomen, zouden we weer hierheen gaan. Dankjulliewel!
Ps: vlakbij de accommodatie is ook een gezin dat zelfgemaakte theesets verkoopt met speciale klei. Een aanrader!
