I had a wonderful stay at this hotel in Newtown City, Kolkata with my mother and my son. The amenities and overall environment were excellent, very clean and comfortable. The staff were extremely friendly, helpful, and made us feel welcome throughout our stay. Everything was well managed and pleasant. I would definitely recommend this hotel and would love to stay here again.

The overall experience was good. There were some issues with housekeeping which was annoying. Service and staff were very good. Mr Raj received us very well late at night. Service at the restaurant was exceptional.

*Review: One-Night Stay at Kenilworth Hotel, Kolkata* I recently stayed for one night at the Kenilworth Hotel in Kolkata and would rate my overall experience as a 6 out of 10. The hotel has a lot going for it, especially in terms of its location and general ambiance, but there are also a few aspects that could use improvement. To begin with the positives, the hotel is situated in a very convenient and well-connected area. Being close to central Kolkata, it’s easy to access various parts of the city, whether for business or leisure. The immediate surroundings are pleasant and relatively peaceful, which added to the comfort of the stay. The room provided was decent—clean, well-organized, and equipped with the expected amenities for a four-star property. The bed was comfortable, and the room had adequate lighting and storage space. The bathroom was functional and clean, although not particularly luxurious. In terms of comfort and upkeep, the room met my expectations. One feature I particularly appreciated was the hotel’s gym facility. It was clean, well-maintained, and had a decent range of equipment for a quick workout. One strange thing to come accross is they don’t allow Outside food !!!! I.e Swiggy - Zomato etc , so it’s clearly that you have to get abused by their food ….if this the policy of this property then kindly have it posted on your listing also - !!!!!!! All your listings across the online platforms should be mentioned as “NO OUTSIDE FOOD” - you cannot keep the customers in the dark and tell them when they come in for check in !!!!!!! Bad !!!

Honestly speaking, the hotel was great. The location was a bit far from the airport, BUT it is located at one of the cleanest places in Kolkata, making it a huge plus. Now for the details: Room: 5/5. The decoration, the ambiance, the wall art. Lobby and other places: 5/5. Absolutely loved the design and hotel architecture. Bathroom: 3.5/5. Honestly, it is a basic bathroom, but I expected more from a 5 star hotel, even on the cheaper rooms. There was no bathtub, which I feel is fairly common everywhere I’ve stayed in. ONE PROBLEM: A major issue I have faced was after turning on the water. It had a smell, which I am guessing is from the river beside it. I feel like the Hotel should add a water filter to avoid this problem, because the smell doesn’t go away until the water is turned on for at least 5-10minutes. If I wasn’t South Asian, I probably couldn’t have taken the smell as easily as I did. I would put this in High Priority to fix for attracting many more customers. Bar and Food: 4/5. Good collection, great taste but very expensive. Lastly, a shoutout to Al Jabbar and Al Sahid from the Housecleaning service, they were extremely polite, fast, very thorough with their cleaning and very well mannered. Absolutely a delight to talk to and learn about the local areas. I would definitely stay at this hotel again. Very rare to find such good hotels, with some minor flaws.

Golden Parkk Hotel is perfect for a Westerner that wants excellent customer service, toilet paper, free water (pani in Bengali), and a large room to call home for how ever long your stay. I was in Kolkata for three weeks and only lasted four nights in a hostel here…they are rough! Golden Parkk Hotel is very clean and doesn’t cost a fortune! I paid $52 USD per night and it was worth every dollar! If you want a good nights sleep, ask to not be located on the 4th floor…there is a nightclub on that floor and you can hear the bass thumping all night long. But don’t that deter from staying here! All the staff are so kind and work hard to make you feel welcome every evening when you come back to rest! There is a small sofa, large writing desk, and free WiFi so you can spread out of staying for a while like I did. The Maidan Metro Station is only an easy three minute walk…this stop is basically the middle of the North/South subway line and gives you easy access to wherever you want to go. Park Street is only a 15 minute walk and the Victorian Memorial is another 15. I had a great experience staying here and recommend it with 6 STARS IF I COULD!
