Zhangzheng Boutique Hotel (Nanqiao Branch, Shanghai)

The staff was super sweet! The location was great. Many convenience stores and restaurants around, and very close to bus stops which lead to a metro station. The room wasn't super clean (but the bed was!). The cleaning staff comes every afternoon. I learnt that the hard way and basically got kicked out of my room so they could clean... Also I'm afraid that in terms of cleaning, they only sweep the floors with a broom and clean the toilet/sink if needed. When I came to the room, the shower still had hair from the last person rooming here, and there was black mold in the doors. Also, I don't really want to think about what caused the stains on the floor next to the bed... For the price, it's still quite nice to have a room to yourself rather than staying in a hostel. It's a good idea for solo travelers or couples. (Also, note, this hotel is often frequented by couples or people in for a good time... The walls are not very thick so you can hear quite a lot of what's happening next door...) For me, it's the most convenient place to stay in this area of Shanghai, so I would probably come again!
