Ein wunderbarer Ort, an dem man sich bestens erholen kann. Hochstehendes, sehr leckeres Essen, unglaublich liebenswertes Personal und eine hohe Leistungsfähigkeit in allen Bereichen. Wir durften an einem Abend das Gourmet 5-Gang Menue geniessen, das durch hohe Kochkünste die örtlichen Speisen und Gewürze wunderbar in Szene gesetzt hat. Ein grosses Kompliment der jungen kambodschanischen Köchin - es war hervorragend und eine Gaumenfreude!

The Farmhouse Smiling Gecko is more than just a beautiful retreat – it’s a project driven by passion and purpose. The bungalows are stylish, most of the food comes from their own production, making the farm-to-table experience truly authentic, and the hospitality is simply heartwarming. What impressed me the most is the strong social commitment: education, craftsmanship, and sustainability are at the core of everything they do. It’s inspiring to see how the founder and his team positively impact so many lives. I can only highly recommend staying here – it’s a rewarding experience on so many levels.

A wonderful place, and an equally wonderful cause. The facilities are amazing (two lovely pools, two restaurants with excellent menus, luxurious lodges, etc), but it is only when you attend the guided tour and see what Smiling Gecko is really about that the entire resort comes alive. I cannot recommend this too highly. It was a pleasure to donate a little extra upon departure and I would urge other guests to do likewise.

The Smiling Gecko Farmhouse is always worth a visit. The whole area, with its garden and pool, adds a further dimension of relaxation to your holiday. The excursions not only show the sights, but also everyday life in the area. The social project with its wide range of activities is impressive and a visit to the school is highly recommended. And don't forget to book a table at Mariya s Michelin-starred restaurant!

Beautiful resort, accommodation and food was excellent and staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Would not hesitate to recommend. The resort helps the local community by providing schooling etc and organises trips to local enterprises etc for guests

Wir haben von diesem Projekt gehört und wollten unbedingt unsere Rundreise durch Laos und Kambodscha hier abschliessen. Hier kommt der relativ hohe Preis ganz direkt den Schulkindern, Lernenden verschiedener Berufe und der zum Teil sehr armen Bevölkerung der Umgebung zugute. Das eigentliche Resort erfüllt höchste Ansprüche, das Essen ist vielfälltig und von erlesener Qualität (Zopf zum Frühstück ist mmmmh). Die Spitzenköchin Un wäre alleine eine solch lange Reise wert. Die ganze Anlage ist sehr gepflegt und wir haben die ca. 6 km lange „Vita-Parcours-Strecke“ gleich an zwei Tagen abgelaufen: einfach toll was hier geleistet wurde und wird. Die Führung durch die Schule und und landwirtschaftlichen Projekte bleiben tausendmal länger in Erinnerung als öde Tage irgendwo im Liegestuhl am Meer. Wobei: Liegestühle gibt‘s hier auch an den zwei tollen Pools mit freundlichen, unaufdringlichen Kellnern. Einfach hingehen und selber erleben. Direkter kann man keine Entwicklungshilfe leisten!

Thoroughly enjoyed our two days here. An amazing project supporting enduring development for local communities. All the staff were lovely and highly skilled. Would definitely recommend a visit. We joined a morning tour of the farm which was well worth it and then spent time relaxing by the pool and enjoying the spa, where again the staff were delightful.

The farmhouse spa is an amazing place. The staff were so friendly and helpful. Richard who introduced us to everything and also took us on a tour of the farm, was wonderful. All the staff were lovely. The accommodation was perfect, everything was a great quality. The food in the restaurant was so good. Of course, the whole purpose of the Farmhouse spa is the most important and wonderful part. We are in awe of what has been done and achieved to date. We highly recommend others to visit to gain this experience. The other guests were also great and it was so interesting to spend time talking with them too.
