"The hotel was great and in a beautiful location, just a 10 minute walk from everything you needed without feeling like you were in the middle of it all. The staff were friendly and very accommodating, although we tried to speak a little Croatian, their English was excellent so communicating wasn’t an issue. The food was fantastic with lots of variety and plenty available. The only criticism we would give is that we were surprised there wasn’t at least a glass of wine included with dinner. There was as much champagne as you wanted at breakfast (which was a little odd to us) but not a single drink included with the evening meal. The hotel itself didn’t have many facilities for young children but that suited us because our daughter is 16 but there’s plenty to do near the hotel for families of all ages and couples, including plenty of water sports. We rented an e-scooter locally which was great fun, did some lovely walks around the bay and found some beautiful secluded coves, lots of swimming and snorkelling and used the land train many times to go into Porec which is stunning. The Basillica is definitely worth a visit. Porec is beautiful and we will be back I'm sure!"

"Making our debut in Croatia, our arrival at the Valamar Tamaris Resort began with a promising flourish. The entrance makes a solid first impression, complemented by a genuinely warm greeting at reception. Step through the spacious lobby and out onto the terrace, and you are met with an undeniably striking coastal panorama. Unfortunately, that initial gloss begins to fade once you settle in. Accommodations & Dining: Form Over Function The family double room is best described as functional—decidedly small and basic, though adequate if you plan to spend minimal time indoors. However, the true Achilles' heel of the resort is its main dining venue, the Mediterraneo Restaurant. While the buffet offers a decent variety, the cooking suffers from a heavy hand—rendering the meat options noticeably overcooked. Worse still is the restaurant’s chaotic logistics: * The Greeting Trap: Friendly smiles at the host stand give way to a chaotic free-for-all the moment you step inside. Unlike other resorts of a similar status that escort guests to open tables, here you are left to fend for yourself. * The Buffet Bottleneck: The serving area is hopelessly underdesigned for the sheer volume of guests. Trapped in a single, winding arc of a line, you are forced to shuffle past tray after tray of unwanted dishes just to reach the items you actually desire. * Self-Service Drinks: While draft options are self-serve, those hoping for proper table service or an curated wine list will be sorely disappointed. Poolside Dynamics: High Energy vs. Lost Tranquility The outdoor pool offerings feel undersized for a resort of this scale, and the sunbed situation requires careful navigation: * The Activity Pool: Lively and bustling, but sun loungers are snatched up almost instantly. * The Relax Pool: Nominally a serene sanctuary, complete with strict bans on inflatables and ball games. ＞ A Credit to Staff: Management deserves praise for strictly enforcing the "no reserving sunbeds" rule—a rarity in modern resorts. ＞ Regrettably, they fail to police the noise levels. By late afternoon, the Relax Pool inevitably suffers from the activity pool’s overspill. As an influx of young children migrates over, the tranquil atmosphere evaporates into elevated noise, shattering any illusion of a quiet retreat. The Verdict So Far The Valamar Tamaris Resort manages to deliver a pleasant stay on paper, but it falls short of true hospitality excellence. Between the chaotic dining infrastructure and misplaced pool dynamics, it remains a notch below expectations. Dispatches to follow as the stay continues."

"Beware This hotel is NOT what it seems to be. We made a reservation and upon arrival the hotel appears to be located in a large construction site. The hotel is not finished and completely empty and not equipped to receive guests as a hotel should be. All the beautiful photos and stories including reviews are stylized to give a different impression but upon arrival you are shocked. And if you do not want to convert your reservation into a booking, they will immediately debit a full amount for 14 days stay from your credit card, even though according to the conditions you only owe the fee for 1 night. The hotel is run by unreliable people who are only after your money, so beware it cost us a lot of money!"

Rubin Hotel

"I loke to give an in depth review so be prepared, this may be a long one. As we arrived my family didn't think much of the curb appeal of this hotel but they had not done their research. You do not see the sea from the drive from the airport to the hotel, but the hotel is in a beautiful position right next to the sea. There is no beach to speak of anywhere nearby, other than a small man made one on the sea front. This did not bother us at all, the views were still stunning, there were lots of steps down to access the sea, and the walk from the hotel into Porec is a very pretty one. There is a land train (€2 each way), eco taxi (€4 each one way) and taxi boats (€5 each, minimum fare €25 one way but room on the boat for 10 or more people) that can take you to town and back if you don't fancy the walk (15 to 20 minutes). The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, spoke English well, and I could not fault them. Emilia and Ana were great to chat to when they were working behind the bar. Myself and my son found out a lot about how Croatia differs from England. We also saw them working within the restaurant, all of the staff were constantly working and worked long hours. Marco in the pool bar always served with a smile. The restaurant was clean, although at busy times it could be hard to find a table and often we had to sit at tables that hadn't been cleaned. The staff usually noticed and would clean the table as soon as they did. The breakfast was good, 8am until 11am. A good variety of food on offer, fried eggs made to order, cooked breakfast items, cereal, fruit and yoghurt, fried breakfast items, bread and pastries, cold meat and cheese. The drinks were different teas, coffee, including a machine for different types of coffee that I cannot comment on as I don't like coffee. There is a machine serving water and juice. The orange juice ran out a lot or was very weak. There was no cola, lemonade etc, only water and juice and hot drinks. Often breakfast would begin to be cleared away from 10am. Lunch was an added bonus as my booking had stated bed and breakfast. This was from 11am until 2pm. It got very busy from 1pm. Again good variety of food and deserts. Always pizza, pasta, salad, a meat dish, potatoes etc. Tea was taken away which was a shame. I didn't have a problem with the food. The room was great. I was expecting 1 room with a bed and pull out bed with not a lot of room. I actually got a separate bedroom which was great that my son got his own space in the living area with a pull out bed. Each room had its own little balcony. Yes it could benefit from being modernised but as a base it was more than fine. The bed was comfortable, the rooms clean. There are not many plug sockets and there is no kettle but I brought a travel kettle so not a problem. There was a fridge and the aircon was great! There is no safe in the room but there were safes in the locked room where you could leave your luggage if you had a late f"

"This year was was my first time here and my first time doing a naturist vacation in general, and all I can say is that I LOVED IT. At first I was not sure about accepting this new challenge but, as I see myself as someone who always seeks new adventures, finally, I had a go and honestly I have no regrets whatsoever. The nature is just beautiful and the camp is very big. I had the opportunity to join various activities such as daily group workouts, beach activities at the sport centre, and there were also tennis playgrounds available. Of course, the sea is beautiful and the water temperature was just perfect. I must also point out the friendliness, helpfulness, and kindness of all the employees - reception, the cleaning staff, waiters etc. I highly recommend Solaris Camping Resort. Looking forward to return!"
