"I really enjoyed my short stay here. The night receptionist while couldnt speak English, still helped me with finding a restaurant to eat and gave me a free upgrade.
Their breakfast selection was filling and delicious, only improvement I would recommend is perhaps fresh coffee or tea would be good too.
I love how the moment I walk out, I am able to explore the old Kunming street sights and try local street snacks. The best thing is that it is also located in the center of Kunming city!
Overall, while the room was dated, the comfort level is very high! Lots of power point sockets, even in the bathroom. The mattress was also firm and soft. Had a very good rest that I decided to come back for another nap before I leave.
Upon check out, they even gave me a littel goodie bag, which was perfect as I did not have time to shop for souveniers."

My luggage’s wheel is broken due to airport handling and I ask help from them for my travel insurance claim. They responded swiftly."

"Stayed at this hostel twice! This time I needed to mail a key card I forgot to return to my previous hostel. The hosts at Elegant were super nice and mailed the key card for me that day for just 12 yuan. The place is clean and will only be improved over time. Great wifi and hot showers. Bathrooms can be a little stinky and while the location is great for the train station, it's a bit far from some of Kunming's main attractions."

WWendy113Huone on puhdas ja puhdas, valo on hyvä, uudet laitteet ovat hyvin puhtaat ja vuode on puhdas. Huone on laaja ja mukava! Liikenne on erittäin kätevä, ei kaukana minnekään, alhaalla syödä, supermarketti on erittäin kätevä. Talon omistajat ovat hyvin, erittäin intiimi ja erittäin innoissaan. Viisi tähteä on kiitollinen! Fantastic location right on Nanping Street with famous food places and shopping malls right within walking distance - there was hardly a need to go anywhere else except for day trips to Dianchi Lake and the Stone Forest. Service was excellent - the staff were very responsive on chat. The laundry service was an added bonus as was the presence of the 3 lovely resident cats.

VVieraskäyttäjäIt was our first time visiting Kunming, and we chose to stay at this guesthouse villa with our family. Although there was a small hiccup upon arrival—our Didi driver wasn’t sure of the exact location and I didn’t have a local contact number—the staff quickly came to the rescue. The driver called the villa, and the friendly “Xiao Ge Ge” provided clear directions to help us find the place.
Throughout our stay, Xiao Ge Ge was incredibly helpful, sharing recommendations for local attractions via WeChat and even patiently showing us how to enter and exit the main gate so we could explore the area freely.
We also really enjoyed the warm breakfasts prepared by the kind “Ah Yi.” heartwarming noodles and porridge were delicious and made us feel right at home.
Our rooms were clean, tidy, and exceeded our expectations in comfort, truly making our stay relaxing and pleasant.
Highly recommended for anyone looking for a friendly, comfortable, and welcoming guesthouse villa experience in Kunming!

SSarah from ItalyThis was by far the BEST accommodation we stayed in China!! We booked two rooms because I'm travelling with my sister and her boyfriend.
Both rooms were extremely clean, the best comfortable beds ever, hot shower, air con, all the toiletries were good quality and the staff were amazing!!!!
They helped us out with everything!! Even though they don't speak English or any other language (like elsewhere in China), they were extremely helpful and we managed to communicate with the translator.
We stayed two nights but we would have loved to stay longer which was not possible because visa's expiring soon.
When we got there, they made us delicious noodles with beef and vegetables and my brother in law is still dreaming to get the same tasty noodles somewhere else in China 😊
We don't know the names of the hosts, maybe they are wife and husband (we are not sure) but surely this was the top accommodation and treatment we have received in China so we would like to thank you two again for everything you have done for us. We are sure your next guests will enjoy their stay at your place just the same as we did.

VVieraskäyttäjäWanted a special place for some relaxing time together. Do not want to try the usual hotel in the city. After going through the photos, decided to give it a try. And voila….. absolutely no regrets choosing this hotel. The service provided was top notch, the staff are friendly, courteous and prompt. Housekeeping staff always clean up the villa to a level which I had no way to complain. Always willing to go the extra miles in providing personal services to the guests. The Villa I booked had a private hot spring and a huge garden which had the best view in my opinion. Every evening, we are able to watch the sunset in our private garden. It was really out of this world, couples must definitely try it. Everyday the hotel will provide a fruit basket and top up the bar counter with drinks and snacks at no costs. The ever-friendly staff (Miss Lee) even told me to let her know if there are any fruits I would like, she would arrange to fill it up in the fruit basket. She even check with me a few times if there are anything she could do to improve the stay with the hotel. Kudos to the management team for instilling this high service standard. Miss Lee even contacted me after I check out to ask for my feedback. Keep up the wonderful work. I will definitely be back. For this trip is filled with so much wonderful memories. Thanks to the team.

The hotel and garden are absolutely beautiful. The room itself was very comfortable. There is a self cleaning toilet, a big shower, a comfortable bed, a nice small sitting area and our room also had a private balcony with a beautiful view.
Every morning we were welcomed around the big table with delicious Yunnan coffee and the most delicious home cooked breakfast. The host is an amazing cook. It was a very pleasant surprise every morning.
The location of the hotel is also amazing. In less than 5 minutes walk you reach Chamahua street with many local food options. In less than 10 minutes you can hike in the Xishan scenic area and visit beautiful temples. By metro and taxi you can easily reach the city center.
Also, if you don't speak Chinese like us, it's not a problem. One of the hosts speak a bit if English and everyone was really making an effort to communicate with translation apps.

TThe Domestic China TravelerGreat location that it is near a lot of food places, a store, and the Stone Forest. Even though I already visited Stone Forest on my visit to Kunming in 2018, this was still a good room in that I get my privacy. Hotel workers were nice in that they gave me more water and wanted to make my bed even though I didn't need it. I liked how it had a heater in there to keep me warm whenever the room got too cold. The thing that I was unsure of is how much freedom and accessibility I get in being able to cook things in the kitchen at times and I was confused about whether I was allowed to eat the food that the cook makes, or it is only for guests that order food and pay for it from him. Sometimes the cook is unpredictable in that I don't know when he comes to cook between the lunch and dinner hours. The front desk women were friendly and helpful in giving me information about certain things. I appreciate it when they loaned me a phone charger temporarily when mine broke until I can get a new replacement one. Thank You for that. The only thing I would have to say, is that it is too far from the city center from the train station in where I need to be in order to catch the train to Hekou and cross the border into Vietnam.

LLidusGreat location, look for the yellow boards and you will find it easily. The room items are little bit used but all is all right and clean. I would not recommend to stay during cold nights - the room doesnt have AC. I was staying in room 207 and i heard all noise from stairs, even just walking and also people in room 206 were awake and screaming whole night so be aware of that.
