"Location is superb, right in the middle of Kathmandu, walking distance to Thamel. Other interesting landmarks are easy to reach with the helpful taxi drivers (always present outside the gates). Hotel staff are very kind, sincerely engage in conversation and helpful in providing tourist information. Rooms are cost and warm decorated. Hotel has a beautiful garden suitable for a relaxing stroll. Swimming pool is nice and very clean! I highly recommend this hotel above other hotels in Kathmandu. "On this special day, I chose to check in at Shanker hotel. The warm service,delicious food and quality environment,everything is so good. The hotel prepares decorations and cake very thoughtfully, surprised us. Due to the late arrival time, the hotel also thoughtfully provided me with dinner order so that could enjoy it when we arrived. Finally the food upexpectedly delicious. I recommend you to choose Shanker hotel. Wherever it’s a vacation or celebration it is best choice."

"Nice Old Hotel, Great Staff with few needs to improve. Swimming pool is totally disappointment. Better to shut down, than keep running and not swimmable, waist of energy. The water is dirty, no star at all. The lobby, the room and Ghurka bar are still great. 2 power shutdowns in 1 day, I believe they are struggling with power shortages due to dark lounges. Breakfast was so so, coffee or tea should be not a challenge to serve first, sometimes took half of meal before they come. Many Tables are not stable and aligned, egg can easily roll over to other side. Atleast 3 tables on my experience. Room is comfortable, nice bed and always fresh linen. Only noisy from AC , maintenance team came twice on my room to fix, though transfer was offered on my last 2 days. Managers should not standing in buffet line, either they should help the line staffs or directing the team, talking business in public is not of our guests concern. Front desk Trainee, has good presence, I thought first he is manager. A lot can be improved and polished, the hotel has a great potential, nice design, great facilities and great staffs. I wish that management should look all themselves and review those small details."

"This is the second time I stayed at Ramada Encore in Thamel. I was not wrong to choose it again. Absolutely everything is good here ... the staff, the room,the breakfast (oh my, sooooo good), the location, the friendliness of every single employee, from the door in. A special recognition to Nikhil in the reception, whose service and support with a sincere smile is as comforting as the sunshine on an early autumn morning. And to the staff and therapists on the spa where I took a couple of massages that were superb. Kathmandu is a beautiful, yet hectic city. Thamel even more, so to have this oasis to come to after a long day wandering around or trekking is something to treasure. In my case, this is even more meaningful as I left all my stuff to go hiking on the Himalayas for several days, coming back to the hotel with the certainty that I was going to be happily and truly welcome. Again, I was not wrong. Thank you for making a difference and for understanding what the word service means. I will certainly choose you again and again every time I come back to this unique Kathmandu I learned to love. Namaste, 🙏🏼."

"We knew the service would be good as soon as we booked, and within hours we received a welcome email, listing the ways we could contact them if we needed to. On the pick up at the airport, they were speedy and efficient and the taxi ride only took us 20 minutes with traffic. As we walked through the door we were blown away by the interior decoration, only then to find that hotel had been a former palace! Historic artifacts and pictures were strewn through the hallways and the outside only matched the royal feel with perfection. We stayed in the royal suite, with a big bed and balcony. The staff were great, the breakfast was standard for off peak times and although the location isn't in the depth of Thamel, the area most will go out for eating and drinking, it was within 30 minutes drive of most landmarks and as it was the ambassedy/ office worker area, there was a nice vibe. There were some things that can't be controlled. The hotel did a good job of providing heat as the weather in February is still chilly. The pollution was real. Especially as you walk nearer the streets, something to think about if you are sensitive to this. Apart from that, It was all really wonderful. "We were extremely impressed with Dees Boutique Hotel, a newly opened hotel near the airport. The rooms are very clean and nice. The restaurant is simply amazing, can see The Himalayas at the outdoor seating. The food was great at affordable prices. The staff was very helpful and professional. Felt really welcomed and safe here. Highly recommend this hotel if you are looking for a comfortable and peaceful stay in Kathmandu."
