Superb hotel which is made even more accommodating by fabulous staff that go out of their way to ensure you have an amazing stay. Location: 3 minutes walk from bar street and market area which is close enough not to hear any of the night time noise yet be in the middle of the wonderful Siem reap night scene. Perfect proximity for myself with a young family. Hotel: medium sized hotel well maintained and very clean. Pool is good sized and perfect for to chill out after a long day at the temples or markets. Rooms are excellent quality and perfect for my family. Staff: Top marks for the staff, truly an unforgettable experience and I have stayed in many 5 star hotels worldwide. The service surpassed anything I had ever experienced, staff would be there immediately when you arrived at any point In the day with cold towels and water for your convenience. They were forever helpful with any requests and would always go above and beyond to ensure your stay was perfect. This is an outstanding hotel team and made the stay 100% better as we felt like part of the family. Food: Breakfast menu has lots of variety and we tried most during the stay and all were great quality and very tasty. Set menu was great and we thoroughly enjoyed the traditional Khmer set to taste the local cuisines. The hand made nuts they have for sale and also come free with a drink from the bar are moreish and I had to purchase 3 bags to take home to keep my family happy. Overall… I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is wishing for a comfortable and homely stay in Siem Reap who doesn’t want the chaos of the city centre but still wants to be close enough to easily walk there and back for shopping/food/drinking. We had a truly wonderful stay at the Golden Temple Retreat in Siem Reap. From the moment we arrived, we were pampered with warm smiles, a fragrant welcome tea, and jasmine-scented cold towels that seemed to appear magically just when we needed them. The airport pick-up was seamless, and our driver Noy was punctual, kind, and professional. We took a two-day guided tour of the Angkor temples with the knowledgeable and passionate Mr. Chong, who not only walked us through the incredible history but also showed us hidden corners we never would have found on our own. One of the highlights was a magical sunset aperitif aboard a traditional Cambodian gondola, where Mr. Van and the cheerful Captain Runn surprised us by mixing a perfect Negroni right there on the water. The next day, they treated us to a private Khmer-style lunch, beautifully prepared by a dedicated chef just for us. The retreat itself is breathtaking — the pool is a true oasis, and the in-room bathtub was the cherry on top of a perfect stay. Every detail was flawless. We highly recommend this hotel and would love to return someday

I stayed at Khmer Mansion recently, and the entire experience from check-in to check-out was smooth and hassle-free. Their customer service is honestly the strongest part of the hotel—the staff communicate clearly in English, understand what you need without overcomplicating things, and check on you regularly in a genuinely helpful way. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and well-maintained. Room service food was consistently good, and they deliver fast. Now the honest bits: The room Wi-Fi needs to be fixed. It’s weak and inconsistent—not great if you rely on connectivity. After four days, the food options felt repetitive. Not a dealbreaker, but something they can definitely improve. Location-wise, this hotel is ridiculously convenient—walking distance to Old Market, Night Market, Pub Street, spas, and even the circus. Despite the minor issues, I would stay here again mainly because of the staff and the location. They genuinely make the experience worthwhile. Final rating: 4.75/5

The hotel was exceptional! Cosy, spacious and clean, the highlight, however, has to be the extraordinary service provided by the staff, who always went the extra mile to ensure that we had a pleasant stay— a huge shoutout to Limon-Poe Tea, Sotha and Sokhunthea and many other staff for their exceptional care. The spa at the hotel was fantastic and the restaurant catered for vegetarian dietary options as well.

A little paradise in Siem Reap. The hotel is beautiful and well kept, super clean and a little paradise to relax after an exhausting day at the temples. David (the owner) and his team are trying really hard to make the stay as wonderful as possible. Our room was beautiful and clean. The pools are wonderful to relax and swim. The staff is the best hotel staff I have ever had ( friendly, helpful, funny but always keeping the right distance). Every day we got some surprises which we didn’t expect and haven’t had to pay ( cocktails, a massage, a late check out, for free laundry service,….). The best part for us was actually the breakfast. It is not big but they have enough of everything to start a wonderful day with fresh fruit juices, good coffee, bakery things, a egg station, a soup station and of course the smile of the staff!!!

Convenient Motorcycle Rental For travelers wanting to explore Siem Reap independently, The Calm Oasis offers motorcycle rentals at very competitive prices. This added convenience means you don't need to search elsewhere for transportation, and the rates are among the best I've seen in the area. Having this service available on-site made exploring Angkor Wat and the surrounding temples incredibly easy. Overall Impression The Calm Oasis strikes the perfect balance between comfort, affordability, and genuine hospitality. The friendly atmosphere, pristine cleanliness, delicious food, fair pricing, and exceptional staff – especially Lyma – combine to create an experience that I would highly recommend to any traveler visiting Siem Reap. The Courtyard by Marriott in Siem Reap offers a prime location on a main street, making it easily recognisable to ride-hailing drivers. The property features an impressive entrance with a spacious driveway that facilitates smooth pick-ups and drop-offs. The lobby creates an excellent first impression with its minimalist design, thoughtful lighting, and generous space. The check-in and check-out processes at the reception desk were efficient and hassle-free. Throughout my five-day stay, the staff consistently demonstrated professionalism and courtesy in every interaction. Upon arrival, I was pleasantly surprised to receive a complimentary upgrade to a pool-facing room with a balcony, despite not requesting one. However, as a wheelchair user, I encountered several accessibility challenges. While the staff were accommodating in helping me change rooms when the first one proved unsuitable, basic accessibility features were lacking. The hotel was unable to provide a plastic chair for showering, which made bathing both difficult and potentially hazardous. More concerning was the swimming pool area, which lacked wheelchair ramps, making it completely inaccessible due to steps. For a 5-star establishment under the Marriott brand, these accessibility oversights were disappointing. Most international hotels typically provide better accommodation for guests with mobility needs. Despite being a Marriott Bonvoy member, these limitations significantly impact the likelihood of my return. Future travellers with accessibility requirements should thoroughly verify the hotel's facilities before booking. While the hotel excels in location, aesthetics, and service attitude, its accessibility infrastructure falls short of international standards, particularly for a property of this calibre.

4-Star Luxury Hotel for the Backpacker Price of $40/night! The first thing you notice about Sokha Palace Siem Reap Hotel is just how pretty it is! The architect, painters, decorators and maintenance staff did a fabulous job (see my photos). The second thing you notice is how delicious the huge buffet is – including free espresso drinks. Third, you notice that the rooms are not only nice but that everything works well (aircon, hot water showers, refrigerator, wifi, and cable TV with news channels from a half dozen countries like CNN). Fourth, it is in a quiet location less than 15 minutes from Angkor Wat, and only a $2 tuktuk ride to Pub Street or anywhere else in Siem Reap. But then you notice the best part: the outstanding hotel staff. For example, the Front Desk Manager Phyrun personally helped me when I could not make my room keycard work, and even brought me a bucket of ice. Originally I booked five nights during Chinese New Year with Trip.com discounts for $39/night, but he gave me a free upgrade from a garden view double with king bed to a pool view room. I liked it so much I wanted to extend, but the best I could find online was $41/night garden view, $51 for pool view. I asked Phyrun if I could get the upgrade again if I bought the $41 online, and he said no – but he smiled and said he would give it to me for $40/night the Khmer rate instead (normally $50 for barangs like me)! The restaurant had other examples of great staff. Some days the restaurant is overflowing with several hundred guests, other days only a few dozen. Yet they maintain the quality and personal touch from the egg and soup station, to the bountiful buffet, to the waiters and waitresses that clear the tables. The Restaurant Manager Somedy and his Assistant Manager Chhaiya keep it all flowing smoothly. Even on the busiest day, waitress Chanthla took the time to show my Khmer friend’s elderly stepmom the way they fold the napkins. Today the espresso machine was not working for a while, so Chhaiya offered to have a waiter drive over to the sister hotel to bring me lattes. I repeatedly declined, but was very impressed by the excellent customer service attitude. So the real beauty of this French chateau style hotel is its employees, including very efficient housekeeping and grounds staff. I checked out the “5-Star” Sokha Resort on the other side of its convention center, but did not like it half as much (especially for 70% more per night). Normally I would be afraid to write a review of a hotel that I like so much, but with 456 rooms I don’t have to worry about it being full. Do yourself a favor and stay here when in Siem Reap.
