The location was great - about 15min walk to Hakata station, a good number of cafes and eateries around including convenient stores, a pharmacy and a supermart. There's a subway exit just 10m from the main entrance, which is really bonus. The hotel is clean (room service on alternate days, though they do provide fresh towels and water every day) and modern, with a cosy onsen located at 1F (which my wife adores); the onsen is split by gender and accessible with your room cards only. Near the onsen is a tiny rest area with free popsicles (while stock lasts), and there are 5 washers cum dryers - 2 in the men's onsen area and 3 in the women's. Overall, we had a really pleasant stay and chances are we will return since there's still so much of Fukuoka we have yet to see and explore.

Very convenient location, right in front of subway station and 1 station away from Hakata Station, canal city hakata is just across the street, yatai stalls all walking distance from hotel, lots of shops around the hotel, the onsen was wonderful!

When we tried to purchase additional breakfast coupons, the hotel still charged the adult price for a 10-year-old child. Even after asking again, the charge remained the same. After entering the room, we found a pair of children’s slippers that hadn’t been cleaned up. The front desk staff looked unfriendly and seemed unwilling to serve foreign tourists But, the location is nearby Hakata station just about 3mins walk away. It is convenient.

After a full day of exploring Fukuoka, being able to come back and enjoy a massage immediately was a lifesaver, cutting the fatigue in half. This amenity completely elevated the stay. 2. Thoughtful Amenities Strategy: The room provided basic toiletries like toothbrushes and towels. Even better, the hotel lobby offered additional, well-known brand skincare products (like facial wash, lotion) and more oral care items for guests to take as needed. This approach minimizes waste while catering to higher needs. 3. A Pleasant Surprise – In-Room Hair Straightener: Another delightful discovery! A hair straightener was already provided in the room. This was particularly appreciated, as many hotels only offer one upon request. As someone who really needs it to maintain smooth, sleek hair (even though the provided shampoo/conditioner were decent), this thoughtful inclusion saved me the hassle of asking and added a touch of convenience I truly valued. 4. No Smoke Smell Issue: Even though we stayed in a smoking room, there was absolutely no residual smoke smell. The air was fresh, showing the hotel's dedication to thorough cleaning and ventilation. 📍 Unbeatable Convenient Location The location is another major selling point, incredibly convenient whether for transportation or exploring the city on foot: · Transport Hub: Within walking distance to Hakata Station, and conveniently situated between two subway stations, making trips to the airport or other parts of Fukuoka very easy. · Culture & Shopping Paradise: · Within a 5-minute walk to Kushida Shrine, the Old Town Museum, and the Art Center, perfect for soaking in traditional culture. · Just a 15-minute walk to Canal City Hakata and the Naka River side, ideal for shopping, dining, and sightseeing all in one go. · Super Convenient for Daily Needs: There are two convenience stores right downstairs, perfect for grabbing drinks, snacks, or a late-night bite anytime. 🛎️ Service & Facility Details · Charging-Friendly: While the number of power outlets wasn't excessive, the room came equipped with a multi-purpose charging cable. This was a very considerate touch for modern travelers, providing a backup even if you forgot your adapter or a specific cable. · Peaceful Nights: The room had good sound insulation. We only heard an external vehicle (like an ambulance) once, so overall sleep quality was undisturbed. · TV & Entertainment: The channel selection was limited, but for guests focused on exploring the city, this wasn't an issue at all. · Breakfast is a Must-Try!: Highly recommend adding breakfast! The roasted beef bowl, seafood bowl, and Japanese curry were exceptionally delicious, exceeding the standard of typical hotel breakfasts. The most surprising part was that the breakfast buffet included unlimited wine, which is quite rare and made for a perfect start to the day.

I chose Mars Garden Hotel Hakata because I wanted something right next to the JR lines and the Shinkansen, and it turned out to be absolutely perfect. Realistically, the hotel is only about 50 metres from the station entrance. You’re basically right beside the station car park—yet somehow, it’s incredibly quiet. That combination alone is amazing. Even as a solo traveller in a single room, the experience was outstanding. It may be slightly pricey for strict budget travellers, but it is 100% worth it. Location-wise, you honestly couldn’t ask for better. The lobby feels like a five-star hotel. The staff are excellent, everything is spotless, and the overall atmosphere feels premium from the moment you walk in. My room was immaculately clean and had everything I needed. The single room is small (as expected in Japan), but extremely well designed. The bathroom is compact yet very comfortable, with a proper bathtub, a good sink setup, and a clean, modern layout. The room also had a Sony TV with Netflix, YouTube, and other apps, which was a great bonus. My only small issue was with the laundry dryers. After two 30-minute cycles, my clothes were still slightly damp. This seems fairly common in Japan, but I noticed the dryer on the 10th floor was especially slow, possibly due to lint buildup. The washer itself was very good. Overall, this is one of those rare moments where, as a solo backpacker, you stay somewhere and genuinely feel it was worth every penny. I’ve been travelling around Asia for seven years, and this is honestly one of the best places I’ve stayed. Quiet, perfectly located, high quality, and extremely comfortable. I couldn’t recommend Mars Garden Hotel Hakata more. Five stars all around.

We stayed as a family of four in a room with four beds for one night, and it was a great experience. The location is excellent — just a few minutes’ walk from the train station once you exit, with convenient stores nearby. The hotel sits at the beginning/end of the Tenjin area, making it perfect for food, shopping, and exploring. What we loved most was that it’s surrounded by several Yatai stalls. When we first arrived in Fukuoka, we stayed in the Hakata area and had trouble finding Yatai. Staying here made it so easy to enjoy the Yatai vibes, even though the food is similar across stalls. Highly recommend staying in this area instead if Yatai is what you’re looking for! Service at the hotel was very good — staff were kind and helpful, from assisting with luggage storage to helping us call a taxi in the morning. The hotel also has a small spa room, though it can get quite crowded. There’s a self-service laundry room too, costing about 100–300 yen for wash and dry, which is very convenient. The room was comfortable with cold air-conditioning, cosy blankets, and a dehumidifier/air purifier provided. Everything was just right for a good night’s sleep. Overall, a pleasant and convenient stay — great location and helpful staff. Would recommend!

Although it’s not close to the train station, it takes only about 5 mins of taxi ride from the Hataka Station to the hotel and there’s bus stop nearby. The hotel is also close to the airport, only about 15 mins of taxi ride. You can ask the receptionist to call a taxi for you and the taxi arrives in 5 mins. The room is quite spacious compared to other hotels in Japan.

Perfect location, 7 mins walk from Hakata Station and there is a Family Mart nearby which is super convenient. We bought our breakfast and dessert from Family Mart.  Rooms are spacious and kids friendly (kid slippers and toothbrush were provided. They also provided a baby crib upon request). The brand of high chair in Why Not is stokke! We enjoyed the stay a lot.

Awesome location, just behind ichiran. Also, convenient to drop off car at Toyota which is exactly opposite hotel. Surrounded by F&B, and near subway stations, and walkable distances to many spots in the city like Tenjin, canal city etc. Nakasu station is just a few mins walk away. Free simple breakfast, snacks, beverages and even liquor in the evenings till 1030PM. Gimmicky dinosaur robot reception, but everything works; check-in and check-out was easy. Only ever saw 1 hardworking person running the reception and f&b areas, kudos to that chap for keeping things running like clockwork.
