The only problem is if you reach late at night, there is nothing open around for dinner, you need to ******* delivery and even so, there is only a few options. But overall very nice stay, will allow you to beat the tour crowd if you are keen to wake up early and go straight to stone forest"

"This homestay was perfect for our needs, clean, spacious, comfortable and close to the entrance to the Stone Forest. We arrived late and notified the host who waited up for us no problem, and he had turned on our AC to warm up the room which was so nice. I forgot to take photos of the room but it was large and had a little tea/reading nook just as described in the listing. We got to see the Stone Forest with almost no other people because we got there so early!"

"We stopped there on our way from Kunming to Yuanyang to split the trip and to enjoy the silver stone forest. Such a good pick we had by choosing the Mijia Inn!
It's located in a quiet neighbourhood close to the silver stone forest entrance (~5km). The rooms are nice, well equipped, clean and the beds comfortable. We even had a balcony with seats to rest in. The common places are also very nice.
There is at least one good restaurant nearby (as we only tried this one), along the main road; and a 7/11 equivalent just facing the house.
The young lady managing the house speaks English; she's very nice and helpful.
Definitely the place to stop when sleeping in Shilin!"

The weak point is very little selection of eateries around there as it is in a residential neighbourhood. There is a good & reasonably priced restaurant within walking distance ( 小倩味道）"

Price is quite cheap. for 3 bedroom unit. But no breakfast included. I am not sure if the location is considered good. There are some shops nearby. It's about 7 km from Stone Forest."

SSarah from ItalyThis was by far the BEST accommodation we stayed in China!! We booked two rooms because I'm travelling with my sister and her boyfriend.
Both rooms were extremely clean, the best comfortable beds ever, hot shower, air con, all the toiletries were good quality and the staff were amazing!!!!
They helped us out with everything!! Even though they don't speak English or any other language (like elsewhere in China), they were extremely helpful and we managed to communicate with the translator.
We stayed two nights but we would have loved to stay longer which was not possible because visa's expiring soon.
When we got there, they made us delicious noodles with beef and vegetables and my brother in law is still dreaming to get the same tasty noodles somewhere else in China 😊
We don't know the names of the hosts, maybe they are wife and husband (we are not sure) but surely this was the top accommodation and treatment we have received in China so we would like to thank you two again for everything you have done for us. We are sure your next guests will enjoy their stay at your place just the same as we did.

SSophita23Excellent stay. We had a pleasant and comfortable stay here. Everything's well adapted for traveling families. The rooms are spatious and clean. We even had a fridge and and a washing machine. That made it even more enjoyable and home-like. On the 7th floor there is a lovely lounge area and a nice terrace.
The location is also amazing. The hotel is located in the heart of the city. There is a shopping mall nearby and lots of tasty food stalls just across the road.
Note: Foreigners are perfectly accepted to stay here.

TThe Domestic China TravelerGreat location that it is near a lot of food places, a store, and the Stone Forest. Even though I already visited Stone Forest on my visit to Kunming in 2018, this was still a good room in that I get my privacy. Hotel workers were nice in that they gave me more water and wanted to make my bed even though I didn't need it. I liked how it had a heater in there to keep me warm whenever the room got too cold. The thing that I was unsure of is how much freedom and accessibility I get in being able to cook things in the kitchen at times and I was confused about whether I was allowed to eat the food that the cook makes, or it is only for guests that order food and pay for it from him. Sometimes the cook is unpredictable in that I don't know when he comes to cook between the lunch and dinner hours. The front desk women were friendly and helpful in giving me information about certain things. I appreciate it when they loaned me a phone charger temporarily when mine broke until I can get a new replacement one. Thank You for that. The only thing I would have to say, is that it is too far from the city center from the train station in where I need to be in order to catch the train to Hekou and cross the border into Vietnam.

EEva13A nice simple hotel for anyone who is looking for a cheap and convenient place to stay. The place is somewhat away from the main road and the nights are really quiet, you can even hear the crickets! The check-in was fast and smooth and the lady at the reception professional and very friendly. The breakfast costs 15¥ and you can eat as much as you want.
