The large room is equipped with modern lighting and electric curtain and also includes nice tea set. Breakfast is vast with many varieties of choices in the nice Japanese style restaurant. There is a concierge lady who helped guests arranging trip too. She is very friendly and supportive . What we like most is the ample space in the room that make us feel very comfortable. You can sip nice tea and be relaxed during the stay. We felt a bit sorry that we had only one day staying here because we really like this hotel. Even we stayed in Jilin only one day, we felt this hotel is very good hotel, and valued for money. Though there was coffee and bread and jam, there was no breakfast cutlery to spread them with. There was only one washing machine, but with no dryer."

"The hotel is conveniently located by the park. There are many dining options in close proximity. The staff is very helpful and cooperative. The hotel itself is quite small which is nice. The amenities are outdated yet somewhat maintained. It worked for us because our family has two preschoolers. The breakfast is average. The Western type food is represented by baguette, peanut butter, doughnuts and granola. It was not an issue for us, we like Chinese food. We enjoyed our stay but next time would consider a different hotel."

"Good hotel if you are visiting Jilin for a holiday, as it is well-located for getting to Beishan Park and the Songhua River, just a five minute walk either way. However, it’s about a 15 minute drive from the station / city centre. Just be aware that the address on Trip.com emails seems to confuse taxi drivers, so you can tell them that it’s next to the Jilin Mosque instead.
Rooms are small, but clean and functional. Service is good and the staff are helpful. The breakfast is tasty, although the coffee machine can only make one kind of coffee. Overall, very reasonable for the price."

"HI stayed at this hotel for a few nights, and its proximity to the railway station was very convenient. The room was clean and well-maintained, which I appreciated. "Our stay at Shanyuan Oriental Aesthetics Hotel was truly phenomenal. From the moment we arrived until the day we left, the staff were exceptionally kind, attentive, and accommodating. Despite the language barrier, they went out of their way to assist us, which made our stay smooth and comfortable.

Breakfast variety was great, covering from western to local.

EEsthaHotelli on poikkeuksellisen puhdas, mikä teki suuren ensimmäisen vaikutuksen. vastaanottohenkilöstö oli ei vain ammattimainen, vaan myös erittäin ystävällinen ja majoitus. VVieraskäyttäjäI am from Singapore. I added the inn’s phone number on Trip.com into my WeChat. Via text messages in WeChat (I can read and write in Chinese), I asked the inn owner how to get to her inn prior to arriving. Her replies were prompt. So, for non-locals, as long as you can access WeChat using your foreign phone number and can produce text in Chinese, communication would be fine.
Apparently there is a local bus that goes to the inn from Jilin train station but on the day of my arrival, the bus wasn’t in service. The inn owner arranged a car to pick me up instead.
There is a variety of food that can be ordered at the inn. I slept very well on the simple floor bed. Most importantly, the inn provide excellent service in ferrying the guests to and from the rime spots starting from early in the morning sunrise. The rime I saw on my visit was pretty.
There were many guests during my stay. I highly recommend this inn if you come to Wusong island for the rime!

This old dog finally flopped down in Jilin City, relieved to rest my paws at the grandly named Song Jiang Bonanza Winning Hotel. “Winning,” I thought—until my non-smoking room greeted me with a stale tobacco haze. One whiff and I nearly cancelled the stay on the spot.
Room Rescue
Cue Mr Hong Dejian—calm, English-speaking, and clutching the keys to redemption. He patiently showed me alternative rooms until we found one that didn’t smell like a poker night. Had I left, I would’ve missed what came next.
Comfort Food = Home
Dinner delivered a miracle: stewed chicken with potatoes and mushrooms. One bite and—boom—mummy’s cooking. After days on the road, I finally found food in China that tasted like home. Tail wagging resumed.
Care Beyond the Call
Mr Hong returned with a portable heater, pointed out city landmarks, and even taught me how to take a non-reflective photo (yes, this dog learns fast). His easy friendliness softened the edges of dirty window panes and mostly Mandarin-only staff. I even showed him the ink-black towel after wiping the window—evidence, not barking.
Menu Meltdown & A Win
At the restaurant, I was handed a Chinese-only menu after saying I don’t speak Mandarin. I hit the roof. To their credit, reception listened: I received a call from the lady boss, and the issue was acknowledged. Then a hero appeared—the restaurant lady, who patiently translated dish names so I could choose lunch and dinner without guesswork. Gold bone earned.
City Interlude: Jilin Catholic Church
Between meals and meetings, I visited Jilin Catholic Church (吉林耶稣圣心堂)—a quiet pause from hotel hiccups. The church offered a moment of stillness, a reminder that even on a bumpy stay, the city holds pockets of grace.
Logistics That Worked
Back at the desk, the reception lady manager efficiently arranged my transport to Wusong Island—quick, competent, and reassuring.
Breakfast & The Fine Print
Breakfast surprised me in the best way: healthy, balanced, a thoughtful mix of local and Western dishes. One final bone to chew—early booking didn’t pay off as prices dropped later. A truly Winning Hotel would honour the lower rate at check-in.
Verdict
Despite communication bumps, this is a solid winter hideout: good Songhua River views, comforting food, and fast service when it counts. It really does take one good sheep—thank you, Mr Hong—to dim the rest of the flaws.

SStevey_FlI read extensive reviews before I booked this hotel a few months ago, and my experience staying 3 nights here did support those excellent reviews.
The services were superior and the staff very friendly and helpful. Free breakfast was good and packed with sufficient proteins and nutrients to prepare for a full half day skiing. You can rent ski equipments ( even clothing) right at the basement conveniently after you are done eating. Ski passes and ski classes can be purchased right there, with the channel discount prices, so you avoid the hassle of doing these things at the Ski Service Center.
There is a Tesla Model Y always ready to take you from hotel basement to the ski slopes (the ski-in and ski-out access was closed during my stay there but in most cases you could do it) and take you back to hotel whenever you call them a few minutes ahead of time). The hotel itself is located within walking distance to the ski lifts, so even without the transportation assistance, it is manageable by putting on ski boots and just walk back and forth with your skis.
The room I booked has a bedroom with 2 twin beds and a living room with TV and dining table and a kitchen sink and stove ( but no utensils yet so don’t expect to cook meals there). Bottle waters and snacks were replenished daily for free.
Besides its own dinning facilities and a small grocery store on the basement, there are plenty of options to eat and shop on the Main Street just down the road from the hotel. Overall, the New Story is a happy story and I look forward to returning in a year or two.
(My advice for those who can afford flexible schedules, try to come here in slow season like now outside the Xmas and Chinese New Year windows, the snow is still quite good yet the crowds are not existent and you can get really good deals in staying, though the lift ticket is still not cheap, 430 RMB a or some $60-65 a day. Much more in busy season).

HHany MI've chose the right place to stay! Everything was beyond my expectation, the room are clean, the blanket are cozy & warm. Need to bought your own towel. Eventho there's language barrier it still easy to communicate as we do communicate thru translator, some guest that can speak english do help me with translation too & everyone in Xie's family are so kind, warm & very helpful making sure my trip to wusong rime island pleasant & smooth as i only have 1 day in Jilin. They also help arrange pickup & dropoff transportation for me from Jilin railway station to the inn vice versa. At night their younger brother send & pick us to wusong island scenic spot for free, the entrance ticket is 30yuan. The next morning the boss brought all of the guest to watch sunrise & the smog rime for free at his secret place. He took a very good photo of each of us & send it to us, love all the photo the boss took, its look very professional. I booked room without breakfast but the boss gave me breakfast for free, so kind of him. You also can try & take picture with traditional chinese northeast clothes, they have variety style. It was a very nice experience & i glad i stayed at this inn.

YYelusalengquliqingzhao住進維也納國際酒店，安全感拉滿的安心之旅。這次入住吉林維也納國際酒店，最讓我驚喜的就是它把“一客一換、一客一消毒”落到了實處，直接戳中了我對住宿衞生的核心需求！推開房門就發現，床上用品透着乾淨的褶皺感，摸起來帶着陽光曬過的清爽，完全沒有異味，一看就是全新更換過的。更貼心的是，浴室裏的毛巾非常柔軟潔凈、漱口杯透明沒有一點污漬。洗手枱、水龍頭和馬桶表面也沒有水漬和灰塵，能清晰感受到消毒後的潔凈感，連遙控器這種容易被忽略的小物件，都像剛擦拭過一樣乾淨。這種肉眼可見的細緻，讓出門在外的我徹底放下了對衞生的顧慮，住得特別安心。維也納國際酒店用實實在在的行動，把“放心住”做到了細節裏，下面幾張圖是偶然在洗衣房發現的！下次出行還會選這裏！
