"We had one of the Sea View rooms and it was clean and spacious with a lovely view. With no breakfast available onsite, it would have been more convenient to be closer to more breakfast options. The walk into town is pleasant and there are some walking trails nearby that I enjoyed. This was more like staying at an AirBNB than I expected. No signs of our hosts the whole time we were there."

"My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed Melfort House. We both commented that our two night stay made us feel like we had seen the “real” Scotland and not just tourist stops. In fact, everyone else there was from Scotland and they shared a world of information about the natural features and creatures of the country. Melfort House is fascinating inside and out. The grounds are magical with many interesting plants, statues and vignettes to investigate. Inside an assortment of art, books and artifacts are there to pique your interest. The communal dinner and breakfast table were a natural place to get to know the rest of the guests and learn about places to visit. Matthew is a wonderful chef and host. Our room was large and decorated with great taste. We would love to return some day."

"We chose this lovely BandB for its location and great reviews. It was an excellent choice. We cannot praise the hosts, Darren and Karen enough. We were warmly welcomed and shown our room , Islay. It had views of the garden and was beautifully appointed and really comfortable. The en suite was lovely and we had plenty of space. Breakfast was excellent with lots of choice. Darren and Karen have a Great knowledge of the local area. This was helpful for planning our sightseeing. Thank you! The location is perfect for visiting Arduaine Garden, Kilmartin and Crinan. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend."

"Convenient location but small room and quite pricey; great to be able to see the sea from our comfortable double bed! The UHT milk sachets in the room were two years - yes, two years - past their 'use by 'date,' so made my morning coffee lumpy! Lacked internet"
