"This guesthouse was such a pleasant surprise! It's in the best location in Oamaru, right above the town center and facing the ocean. In the mornings, I enjoyed doing yoga while watching the sunrise, and at night, I could stargaze. The decor is also very unique and picturesque, perfect for photos, adding a wonderful touch to my trip. 👍👍 The owner was also very thoughtful, providing snacks and juice."

"Good hostel. Reasonable price and well equipped facilities. I would stay here if I come Oamaru again. One bad thing. There is no front desk. So guests always have to be aware of PIN that lets you get inside (even their room). So I had to bring my mobile even when I went to the toilet. If I had forgotten my room PIN, I couldn't open the door of my room."

"It’s a motel… so I went here with low expectations. And they didn’t disappoint… I guess I should have lowered them more 😢 our first impression was with the staff at check in. She confirmed my name and That I had booked the family suite… saw my two children and with an accusatory tone asked if the kids were staying as well and that I only booked for two adults. I’m sure there could be many reasons for this, for one my profile on Trip.com is for my family, so I assume it knows when I book it is for the four of us, but whatever, the motel did t get that info and I’m happy to pay for my children. I do think it’s a bit weird that someone would book a “family” suite for just themselves but sure. My main complaint her is with the attitude about it. Her immediate stance was not “we can correct that no problem” but you didn’t pay for your children and you need to pay first. Then the motels welcome gift was a child’s size bottle of milk…? When my wife asked if we could have one for our other daughter her response was “It’s two dollars for the bottle of milk”. To continue on, there was a bug on the bed and small flys on the ceiling. Maybe someone left a door open or what but it wasn’t something we wanted to deal with. The tissue box had four tissues in it. Overall this is a dated hotel with cheap appliances, surfaces and room amenities. Some of the items feel like things you buy on a “as seen on tv” commercial. Anyway. It’s a motel, we slept, and will never go back or recommend it to anyone.. ever."

"This guesthouse is nestled on a hill in the heart of Oamaru, offering panoramic views of the town and the Pacific Ocean in the distance. Unfortunately, it was cloudy on the day of our stay, so we missed the sunrise. It's just a 10-minute drive from the Penguin Centre. The cooking facilities in the room are incredibly comprehensive and clearly catering to Chinese guests, featuring not only various seasonings but also a rice cooker – something you rarely find in other hotels or guesthouses. If they also provided a large serving spoon, it would be absolutely perfect!"
