Staff were friendly.

"This is my favourite ryokan out of my whole trip. It's on an uphill, the carpark is before the ryokan. There are international/foreign staff that can speak english and they help out the family (I believe). They are still very courteous. They will give you the tour of the place and the room. It's so spacious with massage chairs and two outdoor onsens. Everything was great. I wished I could stay longer in the house to rest. Dinner was superb. They will bring you the course dishes and the boss? would come out to grill steak on a hot stone. It was very delightful. Breakfast will be at the same table. It was really good as well. There's also a surprise when you check out. It is overall a very homely stay and the facilities are great!"

"The location is really convenient, right just before crossing the bridge. First time sleeping on a futon bed, wearing a yukuta and soaking in an onsen. It's really fun but the futon kinda thin and there's no bathroom attached so luckily I remembered to book a private onsen."

"Located a convenient 10 minute walk from Yufuin station, Sansuikan is a great option if you're looking to treat yourself for a night. There are free flow snacks and drinks (including alcohol) in the lobby, and the dinner and breakfast are all-you-can-eat buffet style, also with free flow drinks. There are two onsens, M/F on the 1st/2nd floor and they swap service twice daily. Both floors have outdoor onsen (rotenburo) but the 1st floor onsen is much larger and includes a sauna. Do note the buffet signages were in Japanese only, so you may need to approach the staff for assistance if you aren't fluent. (Their staff are fluent in English.) Overall I was quite impressed with the experience for the price point. Would come back next time 😊"

"Staying at this hot spring hotel during cherry blossom season created wonderful memories for my family and me. The hotel provides a convenient shuttle service—just a quick call from the station, and within 10 minutes, a car arrives to take guests directly to the hotel.
The staff were exceptionally polite and attentive. Upon noticing that my father was using a cane, they kindly arranged a room for us without stairs, ensuring a more comfortable stay. The accommodation was spacious, featuring a private onsen and a massage chair, which made the experience even more relaxing. Since the hotel is near the mountains, there were a few insects, but it wasn’t a major issue.
The food was delicious and beautifully presented, and in the morning, guests could get fresh milk with breakfast. The hotel’s location was ideal—just a short distance from the shopping street and Lake Kinrin, making it easy to explore the area.
Overall, it was a fantastic stay, and we truly enjoyed the experience."

"Stayed here for a night and absolutely loved it!
Location: Slightly far from Yufuin JR but still walkable. Took about 10 mins to walk in.
Amenities: Room was well-equipped with hakata, shower stuff, hair dryer and toothbrush/toothpaste. There was also a huge supermarket around the corner and a Lawson nearby to stock up drinks and snacks.
Room: The room was one of the loveliest I even stayed in. Very cosy and comfortable. The highlight was the private outdoor hot spring bath, just right in the room.
Staff: The owner was so friendly and hospitable. She speaks fluent English, taking care to explain everything in the room and would also recommend what to eat nearby the hotel.
Overall: A very quaint ryokan, perfect for couple, friends trip. We had so much fun and I would definitely recommend this place."

TtravelfatiguedTerra Yufuin is great for families. The 6 beds available can accommodate at least 6 adults and a handful of kids. The onsite indoor onsen was well loved by my kids. We stayed in the ”sauna” house and hardly used the sauna- it was great to go in and out of the sauna in the November weather.
The owner/manager was responsive to our requests through the app. However, I found the amenities to be very precisely provided for laundry detergent pods and trash bags. I felt like we had to ration them even though we did not request for more. Only one pillow is provided per bed too.
I would recommend this place especially if you are alright with bunk beds above your bed. My older folks bumped their heads every night so that will have to be a consideration. Other than that, the place is well kept and beautiful.

太太阳有脚 - 独行者Super clean property. Wheels of our luggage gets a wipe down and we need to change to slippers before entering the property. No outside shoes into the property. The host and owners are a lovely and super friendly couple. Two onsen pools in the inn where the host will schedule for guests to enjoy privately. Within 10 minutes walk to Kinrin lake and a short walk to Yufuin Floral Village. Will definitely consider staying here again next time.

SsmilinglilwenThis must be the biggest hotel room I have ever stayed in Japan. It is a traditional Ryokan with 3 Private Onsen available for reservation upon arrival. The scenery and ambience around the hotel were peaceful & very gorgeous. The mountain view from our room was fantastic. Besides, it took less than 10 mins walking distance to the famous Kinrik Lake! 😌🎐 Each guest could pick a 👘 for free too. The services was great and the staffs were attentive too.
We stored all our biggest luggages at Yufuin Station and only brought along light luggage because it is far away from station. Gentle reminder for the guest to book a taxi at least one day earlier before your departure. By the way, it was a lucky morning when it started to snow during our ryokan checked out! It made the Ryokan looked even more amazing! ❄️
The only regret was breakfast and dinner were both unavailable during reservation and there is no ryokan contact was available before arrival. It would be 100% if I were to taste the すきやき, Sukiyaki! 🥩🍲

AAToiStayed at Enokiya Ryokan and had a really pleasant, relaxing experience.
It’s a bit of a walk from Yufuin Station, but a short taxi ride is easy and not expensive, so it wasn’t an issue at all. The location is also great, just a short walk to Yufuin Floral Village and the main shopping street.
The rooms are spacious and comfortable. Do note there’s no shower in the room, only a sink and toilet, but you can shower at the onsen and it was not inconvenient at all. The onsen itself is private and can be booked via their app, which I really liked.
I had dinner at the ryokan. It’s on the pricier side but not unreasonable, and the omakase style meal was really good. Breakfast was also nicely done with local ingredients.
Staff speak English, which made everything smooth and easy.
Overall, a very enjoyable stay. I’d definitely recommend booking dinner

Unfortunately I think it was off peak season so there weren't many people. The owner is generous and friendly, people that stays there are good natured people. The owners sang country road to everyone that leaves in the morning, very heart warming and eye teary especially when I met a wonderful old couple from kagoshima during the wonderfully made breakfast. The common area, which is the dining area, has a scenic view of outside, and the main city that lights up a little at night and beautifully decorated interior. It feels like home. I also enjoyed the indoor onsen too. My favourite bit was the classical music playing in the background, and how accessible it is, like a backyard. If you stay here, return the deed by being good guests.

Dinner and breakfast set were amazingly tasteful and filling. Food served was fresh and served based on our eating pace. All the staff are all well versed with English and friendly with our request.
The onsen itself was great but the entrance to the men and ladies onsen was just next to each other. Ladies privacy could be easily violated as the main door was the see-through type. We were not feeling quite comfortable with the entrance layout.

MmummywandersThe hotel is slightly over 1km from Kirin Lake and the shopping lane but it offers free bikes for use by guests and cycling to the attractions is a breeze from the hotel. In addition, the hotel offers booking for three of their onsen amenities - open air, semi open air and we xtra hot osen. Guest can book the preferred slot at one of the onsen location and by about 8pm, the hotel will allow guests to book any additional slots at any of their onsens. We managed to have slots for all three of the onsens, each was well maintained and provides you to have privacy of quiet onsens. There is a hotel lounge where you can have free flow of cold and old drinks too...

The food is delicious. **But what I am not very impressed with is the control of other service providers. Mostly, 99% on the day I stayed were Koreans who were not very polite. They did not know even the etiquette and rules of using the public hot spring. I am not sure if the owner of the accommodation has informed the rules of using the hot spring, which is something I cannot accept. They were loud, threw the earbuds on the floor, and were not orderly. They also wore shoes in the common area of the dressing room in the hot spring. I was very disappointed. It was a rather disappointing vacation, even though it should have been a good day for me. I lost the mood to soak in the atmosphere. I did not even have the heart to take pictures of the atmosphere with the accommodation.
