"The location of Riva is excellent. Right on the quietest part of the beach, but still very accessible to beach shacks and restaurants. There are 3 pools on the premises and the spa services are great. Check in and check out was so smooth. I really wish I could rate Riva higher because it’s a beautiful resort with hospitable staff and it has the potential to be very relaxing. However the food was a huge letdown. Goa is known as an amazing culinary experience, and I wish Riva was able to offer food that was upto Goan standards. I ordered a soup at the cafe and it was substandard to say the least. The sambhar and veg gravy the next morning was watered down and then over salted. Fortunately my resourceful family was able to find some amazing food options outside the hotel. There’s work to do and I will wait to hear of better food reviews before I recommend or visit again."

"Overall, it's a very decent and pleasant hotel for India, value for money. The pool is cleaned daily. We stayed on weekdays, when the hotel was practically deserted, and breakfast wasn't shared. We asked for omelets, one day they even made us pancakes, and once they even talked us into making porridge for the kids. The owner is a very nice guy. They agreed to check us in early since the rooms were already available, for which we were incredibly grateful, and they allowed us to check out 1.5 hours later, even though they were supposedly on Friday. We ordered an extra bed for our child, and with our reservation at about 3.5k per night, we paid an extra 1k per night for the bed. It seemed like a bit much, but not a big deal. The hotel is completely deserted on weekdays, but I'm curious what happens on weekends."

The staff are incredibly kind and attentive, always ready to help with a smile. "The room was basic but large. The small courtyard grounds were nicely kept and lush. The rooms are not serviced each day and you have to ask for toilet roll. I paid around £75 per night so I perhaps expected this in the price. The block was over the main road from the other apartments and restaurant. The resort is also a yoga retreat, therefore it is quiet during the day when the students are in their training etc. The attached restaurant (Chia lounge) has very good food, especially for Vegans and vegetarians. It is a shame that the dishes aren't labelled with allergens/vegan/vegetarian. One of the vegan dishes turned out to have Ghee in it which was very disappointing. The other issue is the beach sellers. It happens wherever you are in Goa, however when sat on the lounger it was constant. And the sellers don't go away when you say no. They just stand there and continue to try and sell there products to you."

"First night in Goa: a bungalow with atmosphere, but no air conditioning I stayed overnight in a bungalow on the day of arrival in Goa. The hotel grounds are well-kept and pleasant, the reception staff is friendly, they helped carry heavy things. The houses are located close to each other, in two lines. Due to the small occupancy, it was calm and quiet. There are signs around the territory about observing silence. The bungalow itself is made of thin material, the windows are through for ventilation. ‼️ The main disadvantage is that there is no air conditioning, only a fan. In hot and stuffy weather, this can be a problem, especially for people with heart disease. The next day, I moved to another place with air conditioning. Comfort: • Bed with clean linen • Clean shower • Fresh towels Food: I liked the restaurant - a pleasant atmosphere and delicious food. • Tuna salad – amazing, about 700 rubles • Breakfast a la carte – delicious, 1200 rubles Price and booking: • The night cost 3700 rubles • The next day you could book for 2400 rubles – it’s worth checking prices before booking Conclusion: If it weren’t for the lack of air conditioning, the place would be decent for accommodation. Suitable for those who sleep comfortably under a fan and aren’t afraid of the heat."
