The Engine Inn

Clean and comfortable room in an old inn building. Attentive staff nice breakfast

A quaint friendly little local pub with B&B, the en suite room was clean and comfortable with a view over the front of the pub and village. There was not much space for parking, and they didn’t cater much if you have a gluten free diet, but tried their best to accommodate , overall a very nice stay, would definitely return and recommend

Room was clean and comfortable bed. We didnt have breakfast as we were leaving before 8:30am but bacon sandwiches were left outside our room. Overall the stay was good and i would stay here again.

The hotel was a little bit dated, but the atmosphere was friendly and welcoming. The clenliness was on point, plenty of room and towels.

Lovely inn, lots of character and really nice food & wine!

We decided to book here for the Cartmel races and we glad we did. The Engine is a beautiful old traditional English pub, sat outside next to the river is very tranquil. Good selection of wines and beers are on offer and the bar area is very cosy. We stayed for one night, our room was a good size and a decent size bed. Our host was exceptional, he really helped us out when we got stuck at night, so with this above and beyond service I rate the Engine 5 stars.. We would definitely stay here again.
