I booked a stay at Hilton London Paddington for March 2025, but due to a major power outage and airport closure in London, my flight was cancelled and I could not travel to the UK at all. I immediately contacted Hilton and Trip.com to request a refund.
Initially, I was told that the refund was possible and being processed, but days later, the hotel reversed that decision, falsely stating I had already checked in — which is completely untrue.
I emailed the hotel multiple times, and also contacted Hilton’s corporate customer service. It has now been a week and I still haven't received any reply from the hotel.
This is not the level of service I expect from a Hilton property. Charging for a stay that was never used due to a force majeure event, and then refusing to respond to emails or provide assistance, is unacceptable. I will never book this hotel again and strongly advise others to be cautious.
