Trafalgar Square by Excel Apartments

Terrible Terrible Terrible Was locked out of the apartment with all my belongings inside. I had to find another hotel at midnight to stay in otherwise I would have been on the streets of London for the night. No number to ring anyone. Main door to property was locked and unable to get access.

Great location, an earlier check in time would be beneficial. But all in all a great location.

I have to say I am disappointed with the stay, the bed was extremely noisy and broken making it uncomfortable. The TV also didn’t work and the tap in the kitchen practically falling off the work service. Having stayed in other stay inn apartments and had a pleasant experience it was disappointing to have experienced the above, especially given then cost of the stay and further deposits taken I would expect more from a provider.

I booked this last minute due to unscheduled meeting in London. Arrived as location at 9:30pm and I was unable to gain access. Apparently required passport id, didn’t have thus with me as uk resident I had to book another hotel, not ideal

Good location, warm and noisy Apartment has a good location, just by Trafalgar square. Placement between chinese restaurant and pubs gives chinese food smell through windows and on terrace all afternoons and a lot of noise from the pub until 11PM. Apartment is not ventilated and gets warm, outside temperature was around 20 during our stay and inside 25-28 degrees. Summers must be very warm. Check in was delayed as cleaning was not done on time, so we had to stay outside building in the rain 30-40 minutes which was not nice. Very hard to understand the person managing the phone as english was not great, emails are good though. A bit cumbersome check-in process with passport submissions and credit card verification before getting access could be better. Some left over clothes including used underwear was still placed in some of the drawers in a bedrom, this was not nice!! The apartment was okay enough, sufficient space and two bed rooms. Some maintenance needed though, tiles almost loose in bathroom floor and wear and tear on ealls, floor, doors etc. windows were double with very old outer windows which need replacement. Good kitchen space but we did not use it other than refrigerator. If you are not picky and can sleep in warm and noisy bedroom then OK pick, but would avoid during summer as it will be way too hot.
