It seemed to be coming from a cheap toilet cleaner. Lesson learned: if you encounter a room like this, it's best to ask the front desk to change rooms immediately. I felt like I was being poisoned after smelling it all night. Also, the room didn't match the pictures on Ctrip. The bathroom was tiny; the shower and toilet were practically next to each other. The pictures showed glass partitions, but the door was broken and didn't even have a handle. Honestly, the room was quite large, but couldn't they have allocated some space to the bathroom? Overall, it was a poor experience. I spent several days in Enshi, and other hotels in other cities that were cheaper had better facilities."
