"This is probably the worst place I’ve ever stayed. I arrived to be ‘greeted’ by the very grumpy and unfriendly Thai owner who really couldn’t have cared less. The room was up numerous stairs (I had a lot of luggage) and was lack lustre, in desperate need of re-decorating and some decent furnishings. The towels were thread bare, the duvet too small for the bed, the pillows were smelly and bed linen only fit for recycling. I couldn’t face breakfast as the breakfast room smelt musty and grubby and was in desperate need of a deep clean. I do not recommend this establishment and couldn’t wait to leave."

"Eddlewood is a lovely guesthouse with bright, clean, comfortable rooms, a great location (good and easily found on-street parking, too) and a great host. This was my second stay, made all the more welcoming when greeted by name. Not suitable if unable to do stairs, though."

The Lerwick Hotel

"It’s a shame the rooms didn’t match up to the main reception and bar area of the hotel. They really require updating, the general condition of the rooms is not very good at all, the walls and ceiling are in bad condition and the mattress is ridiculously soft. The food and drinks we good and the staff were friendly and helpful."

Queens Hotel

"Had reservation 4/3 & 4/4/2025. Arrived no staff at front desk; had to call phone number for staff; bags of laundry in foyer; non working bar and restaurant.. looked at rooms - horrible condition- a fire trap. Limited view of water thru 24”x36” window that didn’t open. Paint peeling; bed not even level. Scaffolding along street side exterior. Very run down. We had to remit in advance and owner will not refund our money. We canceled after seeing rooms and condition of property. Don’t let hotel’s web site photos fool you- this property is a dump."

"Vaimoni ja minä nautimme loistavasta 7 yöllä oleskelu Fort Charlotte Guest House. Se on keskitetty mutta rauhallisesti sijaitsee ilmaisella pysäköinnillä saatavilla vain nurkkaan. Huone oli hyvin sisustettu, spotlessly puhdas ja varustettu runsaalla varastolla ja hirttämällä tilaa, sekä jääkaappi tuoreen maidon ja juomaveden kanssa. Aamiaisten valinta ja laatu olivat erinomaisia, keitetty tilata vaihtoehtoisia päiviä joko Ryan tai Kelly. Keittiöiden välillä he keskustelivat vieraidensa kanssa ja antoivat arvokasta neuvoja mitä tahansa haluaisi tietää, katsella parhaita paikkoja tehdä varauksia illalliselle. On hauskaa keskustella Fort Charlotte Guesthouse -ryhmän ja muiden vieraiden kanssa. Tämä vierashuone onnistuu olemaan todellinen kotoa kotoa ja varmasti valittu majoitus, kun seuraava vierailu Shetland."
