"The best lodging experience I had during my month-long stay here in Nigeria. I stayed in several hotels in Lagos, Abuja, and Port Harkort. Aside from internationally renowned hotels that are obligated to meet the quality standards demanded by their brands, there are many lodging options run by local entrepreneurs that are only good at the opening, but then fail due to a lack of investment in maintenance and continuity of the required quality standards. At the Bristol Palace, the experience was good; I can summarize it as "functional." Rooms, AC, breakfast buffet, hot water, cleanliness—everything works to international standards."

"The hotel is in a very quiet location and has a beautiful gym and swimming pool. The hotel staff is very helpful, and the stay itself was very good. However, I did have a problem at check-out, as I had to leave the hotel, and the staff were not very friendly and helpful. I had booked this hotel through trip.com and paid for four nights' accommodation and breakfast in advance. However, when I checked out, the front desk staff charged me for an additional night and breakfast for four days, as I had only paid for three nights, and breakfast was not included. When I showed them the booking confirmation produced by Trip.com, they said it was invalid as it was not issued by their hotel. I stayed with a Nigerian friend, so he negotiated with the manager to check again. The manager then tried to claim again that I had paid for four nights' accommodation but that breakfast was not included. I had no choice as my flight was almost ready and I left the hotel having paid about $50 for breakfast for the four nights. In the reviews I saw when booking this hotel on Trip.com, some people, like me, paid for their stay in full in advance but were told to pay again at check-out as they had not paid. This person eventually paid again in full. I was concerned about it, and the same thing happened to me. If you book this hotel, I would not recommend paying in advance. Apart from this, my stay at this hotel was very nice."

"The hotel is located in a well-secured area, and the overall atmosphere is serene, with clean and comfortable rooms. However, some of the bathrooms require proper plumbing attention, and a few toilet seats need to be replaced. I had to request a room change because the bathroom tap kept running throughout the night, even after I reported it earlier in the day. The food is quite greasy, and it would be better if the kitchen incorporated more grilled options instead of mostly fried meals. With these improvements addressed, GK Guest Palace has the potential to remain a good, easily accessible option from the airport and other parts of town."

"My client stayed at this hotel in Kano during a business trip. It was extremely dirty, messy, and terrible, practically uninhabitable. It was nothing like the description on Ctrip. My client complained, and the room rate wasn't cheap either, over 940 RMB per night. It's worse than even domestic chain hotels. The front desk staff were extremely rude. I will never go to this hotel again. Avoid it!"
