Proximity to the place of official business

We have been Prokard members for almost 10 years if not 9. We have enjoyed the rewards thereof and somehow it seems very hostile when you have to go to Marriot Johannesburg as a Prokard/Marriot member. The mangers treat you like you coming to rob the business (Gugu and Thembi) in this regard. Each time I have come I can definitely sense the hostility making the whole experience uncomfortable. As prokard members there are benefits that we rightfully enjoy which is the dining discounts. I questioned Gugu two weeks or so ago as to why she was asking us for the dinning form which has never been asked from us. The manner in which this was done was very opposing. If Marriot managers are going to treat us Prokard/Marriot members like this then they should just stop calling us each year to renew the membership. I don’t want to go into Marriot and feel a sense of hostility. Management needs to do better to make all guest feel welcome. Prokard or no Prokard. They should demand the same form from all guest coming in, not pick and choose as it pleases them. I for one will write a review each time I go to Marriot. Also been told that “ ooh you the one that wrote the bad review” this made me feel uncomfortable today. How do I trust that my food will not one day be poisoned? How do I trust that what I’m ordering will not harm me? If the last time I wrote a negative review was in 2024 because of my experience? Please do better.

Outstanding hotel in every way. Service levels were exemplary every single person went above and beyond. Room condition and cleanliness were flawless. Restaurants and food were first class. Taxis easily available and perfect to be walking distance to a small world of restaurants and shopping.

I had what some would call fine dining experience but not even food could never be experience in such a manner having food complement each other like a well executed dance the Marriott Melrose arch bistro lives up to its expection having chefs pay such fine details to my meals shows how they care and cherish each dish I had a lamb shank which is usually not done correctly but this one is worth the wait and the travel but that is not the only highlight the waiters have excellent service silent but ready to serve at your every need there smiles welcoming like a family member welcoming you back home I say this and keep this Marriott Melrose arch is worth the travel the food

It was amazing! The staff is exceptional from front desk to the restaurant. We really enjoyed ourselves and the breakfast was exquisite. The location of the hotel is just perfect, closer to everything. The area is very safe and The hotel amenities are on another level, I love the fully equipped gym and the lounge. Thank Marriott team for the exceptional service. We will definitely visit again soon.

We check reviews before booking our stay and we were not disappointed, the hotel lived up to our expectations. Hotel and rooms were clean and inviting, we also used the archers bar which was nice, the Melrose precinct was very safe and secure. I would highly recommend people stay at the Marriott Melrose arch.

One of the best hotels in Johannesburg
