"Quayside hotel, short walk from the waterfront bars and restaurants and yet we heard no noise on a Saturday night. We had a family room which accommodated 4 easily. Beds comfortable. Lots of towels. All good Reception staff were friendly and very helpful, I had misbooked dates and they guided me through how to sort it out (online). Breakfast was good. My girls were very happy to have pancakes and Nutella. "

"Following a not so positive experience with the food for my wife and her family earlier in the summer, we returned last night to the restaurant and had an excellent meal and as always the service was great. With a new chef now in charge Retreat East is back to its usual excellent food and service! Our waitress Scarlett was delightful and Lynn the manager has been great and always very welcoming to all the guests. We look forward to coming back to Retreat East again soon!"

We stay in this one often because it's close to family and our stay is always brightened by the Liverpudlian weekend manager who gives a very warm welcome and always makes sure we have everything we need. The 24 hour garage and the Greggs across the road are very convenient for breakfast and late night snacks."
