"Generally good experience and enjoyed my room. Helpful staff. Clean room, comfortable bedding although it is not a new hotel. Everything I needed was available without my asking. Thoughtful touches in the room was much appreciated. I didn't get to use the restaurant or public bath so I'm unable to comment. Bathroom is rather old but I was mostly visiting the onsens and bathed somewhere else. Overall, good."

"It's a lovely hotel in traditional Japanese style. It has a pretty inside garden and an onsen (no private onsens for booking, only common ones for all hotel guests that are divided for males and females). Hotel provides you with a yukata and a haori for your stay (you don't rent it, they are included in price), which is very convenient. When I asked the receptionist if I can buy them, 'cause I loved them so much, she said I can take them for free if I want. I double checked to avoid any miscommunication, but she insisted that I don't have to pay extra for those. Everything in the fridge, including alcohol, is free. Hotel is a bit far from the main street, but has a transfer, so I'd say it's fine. We ordered a dinner and breakfast, and both were absolutely wonderful, had several courses."

"The ryokan style rooms were a lovely touch. The inclusive dinner came with so many courses that we were absolutely stuffed every single night and the fact that a member of staff helps explain all the dishes and prepares them in front of us felt like a real lovely touch of authenticity and luxury. There are no individual bathrooms in the rooms aside from a sink and toilet but the hotel Onsen is easy to access and comfortable to use. The staff also make the bed after dinner every night and anytime we had questions for reception, they were always happy to help, especially with train station transfer and recommendations and vouchers for different restaurants in town. The hotel rooms have a great view of the mountains as it is slightly off the main road. I would definitely recommend this for couples traveling."

"There is no breakfast nor dinner provided by this onsen hotel, and restaurants close a bit early. If you’re looking for an onsen meal, you maybe disappointed if you staying here. Beware if you’re a foodie.
The sound insulation is poor, please keep your voice down. Since the first night I arrived was windy and rainy, and the curtain for blocking the sun is made of bamboo, it kept hitting on the window all night long.
There is no elevators and the stairs is very steep, be careful if you bringing many luggages.
Although the servers do not understand English, they are very friendly and willing to help! Overall, I enjoyed a lot while the staying. Thank you!"

"Absolutely loved my stay at this ryokan! The traditional Japanese room made for a truly memorable night. Room is very clean and comfortable, and the staff were so warm and accommodating. Amazingly it also included is an all-day pass to the seven public onsens and free shuttle bus (every half an hour from the ryokan). Ryokan is just a short walk from the JR station and Kinosaki itself is such a quaint, charming town, and staying here really completed the experience! Highly recommended!"

"The staff were helpful and friendly, although the do not speak much English. The cleanliness of room was good except that the cupboard doors and walls are quite stained and old. The shuttle service was very good with nice drivers.
Facilities and amenities were very exclusive and good. So was the breakfast! Wish we had more time to explore their facilities. Overall a wonderful experience"

The rooms are old and dated, but comfortable and clean. The hotel's service is acceptable but only one staff speaks English."

"We arrived around noon on a rainy day. Luckily, there was a shuttle bus in front of the train station. You can tell the driver that you staying at this hotel and they will drop you in front of the hotel. the hotel also provides the flree drop-off at the train station.
the room is very good with plenty of space and private toilet and bathroom. The onsen at the hotel even though small is very good ambience.
Both dinner and breakfast are excellent.

VVieraskäyttäjäNice, modern and new hotel in Kinosaki onsen with great hospitality from the hotel owner and his staff. I was welcomed by the owner at the door when I arrived, and they even prepared a beautiful greeting card on my arrival. Welcome drink was provided and the owner recommended good restaurants and provided the USP of each onsen in Kinosaki. The room is spacious, clean and new! I especially like the Japanese style of the hotel. Yutaka and 1-day onsen pass were provided for my stay. As the next day I had to move to another hotel, the owner very kindly helped me to transport my luggage to another hotel near the JR station.
Overall, excellent stay, excellent people and excellent breakfast! :)
Would love to visit Kinosaki onsen again and stay with Utsuroi Tsuchiya.

Not only did we travel with a family of 5 but we had 10 luggage’s in total which they helped to organise and deliver to our room even though it was really heavy. Accommodated to everything that we need and asked and super welcoming. The small details that they would do have imprinted in my memories for life e.g remembering which shoes we had, prepared our slippers, explaining our meals and providing a blanket without us asking. I hope this reaches out to the manager who put the most effort to making sure we were happy and looked after. We would all recommend this place to our families and friends. 1000/10 S+++

Сервис и вежливость персонала поражает, красота внутреннего пространства отеля и дворика! Поразительной красоты Онсен при отеле, все продумано до мельчайших деталей! Номера в отеле очень аутентичные, как и все в целом, а шведский стол на завтрак шикарный! Также трансфер продуман и конечно юката просто чудесная и на любой размер! Говорить могу вечно о том какое же удовольствие я получила! Благодарю!

Плюсы:
1. Великолепные номера в стиле классического рекана: все очень красивое, аутентичное, масса мелких деталей, записок и подсказок для гостей, интересных безделушек в номере. У нас были кровати, а не футоны, но минусом это никак не назвать - кровати удобнейшие. Вид из номера (3 этаж) - на горы. Чистота идеальная, в номере есть все, что должно быть в номере классического рекана: от татами, до низкого столика для отдыха.
2. Бесподобный ужин кайсеки. Великолепный завтрак сукияки (готовишь себе сам).
3. Красивейшие интерьеры отеля, по нему интересно гулять, изучая его изнутри. Отель красивый снаружи тоже.
4. В номерах можно курить (мы этого не делали, да и номера не прокуренные совершенно). Есть курилка при входе в отель.
5. Чудесный персонал. Все просьбы и жалобы удовлетворяются за минуты. Плохо говорят на английском, но это не беда, общались через переводчик. Ребята классные, веселые. Быстрый чек-ин, куча напоминалок по поводу того, куда и во-сколько приходить / что и как правильно делать.
6. Есть приватный онсен (мы не пользовались).
7. Дают беспланый пропуск в 7 общественных онсенов. Дают скидки на сувениры.
8. Дают отличные юкаты для онсенов, для женщин - дадут красивые, выбор огромный.
Нюансы:
1. Единственный минус отеля - удаленность от центра Киносаки (15-20 минут ходьбы по не слишком красивым местам). Но! Есть бесплатный трансфер от отеля до центра города, плюс есть трансфер вокзал-отель-вокзал. Да и ходьба от отеля до центра Киносаки нас особо не напрягала.
2. Это не бизнес-отель, поэтому ни стиралки, ни утюга, ни душа в номере нет. Душ (а по факту - онсен) общий на минус первом этаже - отдельный для мужчин и женщин.

The staff was really amazing. They were all super friendly and nice and always put so much effort in making our stay enjoyable. Big thanks to Kairi for explaining everything so well and always being patient with us. Also thanks to Tomoki for the great service. We loved our stay there so much we would love to come back here again when we visit Japan again! Also loved the town itsself and all the Onsen.
The hotel itsself also gives you public Onsen as well as private ones that you can book in advance. They were amazing too. The food included in our Halfboard was also amazing! Loved everything here! Garden view from our room was so relaxing and great as well!

MMrBonUpon arrival, the hotel gave us 2 free tickets for aquarium next to the hotel. Staff were very friendly and helpful with parking valet and our luggage. The room we were in had an amazing view and it is spacious. It’s a Japanese style room and the staff had to come to put out futon for us around dinner time. Communal bath is big with an outdoor onsen. We noticed that they use salt water in the bath and onsen instead of chlorinated water like many other onsen hotel we have stayed in the past. There are 2 restaurants in the hotel but they open rather late at 7 and 8 pm so we didn’t get to try them. Breakfast were the same the whole we stay but they are pretty decent so there is no complaints. I would consider this to be one of the best hotel we have stayed during our trip there.

Elevators should have hand rail or / and a seat inside the lift to allow older adults to hold on or in case of fainting occur !
There should be towels inside the spa area instead of asking customers to bring along the towel to & back to room ! There should be towels available inside the spa area !
The free transportation starting from 4 o’clock till 9:30 is good but it would be better if the free transportation can start a little bit earlier say I’m 12
