"My stay at the Wiesler Hotel went beyond my expectations. I booked the tiny room because I am not fussy about having a big room. When I entered the room I was disappointed because the bed was above ground level and that it's a no no for lumbago sufferers, such as I. The size was actually quite decent, certainly no 'tiny' at all, and so was the bathroom but the bed put me off. I walked down to the reception desk, and I asked for an upgrade. I told the senior gentleman at the desk (could he be the general manager or even the owner?) that I did no like the bed without footboard. He was most understanding and he issued 2 keys for me to check and to choose from the Comfort bedroom and the Grand bedroom. I chose the former -the bed had a proper footboard, legs and headboard. He offered me to stay at the Grand for the same price of the Comfort, I was very pleased by the kind offer but I said that I was happy to go for the Comfort. As he insisted I accepted the Grand bedroom, which has the size of a one-bed apartment. The location is spot on: it's right in the city centre with views to the river Mur in front. I had the buffet breakfast in my last day too and I highly recommend it if you enjoy a good quality and varied breakfast. I've tried the local red wine too at the bar in the lounge, which was excellent and at a surprising low price- after all this is Austria! The decoration of the rooms aren't the typical you find in a 4 stars hotel with history and the curious eye has seen in the lobby's beautiful colour lithographs that the hotel has changed its style a few times over the last century. But it won't put me off to stay back tat the Weisler next time I am in Graz."

"Very clean hotels, large rooms! However, some services leave to wish! This is a 4-star hotel and no one knew to speak Italian! Some speak English, others do not! Satellite TV does not provide the view of Italian TV! We reported this failure at 10.00, to well 2 different people and 17.00, at our return to the room, it was not yet repaired and, they made us change accommodation! One night, when we were out at dinner, a unknown number called us and, thinking it was a spam, we didn't answer! When we arrived, we found that the reception had closed at 21.00 and, we were out of the hotel door without key! We called an emergency number and the person who answered gave us a code to access. The next night, the Saturday, they called us to say the reception would close at 19.00! Now, are we in August and in a 4-star hotel and the reception closes as a last-category hotel?"
