"Hatherley manor is beautiful. The grounds are lovely and the positioning for Cheltenham and Gloucester is perfect. It’s a The AA 4*, and the rooms on their website are lovely and as a package I’m sure it is. However, booking a standard room is the equivalent of a Travelodge and very disappointing. The room I was given when booked through trip wasn’t great. I’ve stayed in Hatherley before and had a glorious room. This one felt like the old working staff quarters. The window was a poor quality double glazed unit that had condensation in between the panes which stopped you being able to look out of it properly. Thankfully, this hid the view of what looked like a static caravan with rubbish on the roof on the internal ‘courtyard’. The window covering was a roller blind you’d find in a shed and did nothing to block out the light in the morning. The kettle and refreshment area looked like an afterthought. The bed was relatively comfortable, but clearly and old spring mattress as I could feel them through the sheets. The pillows were reasonable fibre pillows, but I always travel with a feather pillow as life is too short for rubbish pillows. The hotel itself did seem very quiet when I was there, so I did get a good night sleep, although with the window open you could hear the air conditioning unit situated in the courtyard. Finally, the spa was nice. Clean and all the facilities were working. No robe included in my room, however there were flip flops. I’d consider staying again, but the significant difference between expectation and reality of the classic room had disappointed me. The room was tired and shabby, but the rest of the hotel really is lovely."

"Can't fault one thing about this Travelodge. Firstly the Reception staff. So nice to go into a hotel and be greeted by people who are happy, cheerful helpful, and very accommodating. I'd just like to mention Ian in particular as he was our first point of contact and with his warm smile and his humour made it a very pleasant experience. Every Travelodge should have an Ian. We were given a lovely room, absolutely spotless and believe it or not the air con worked, that's a rarity these days. We decided to have the breakfast and I'm so glad we did it was delicious, a good start to the day. Actually I think I ate too much. The location is brilliant, all the shops are just around the corner, spent loads. Definitely would stay again."

"Good location. Staff very friendly and helpful and familiar from previous visits, a good sign. Room as expected, basic but comfortable. In a heatwave, the aircon worked well and wasn’t noisy. Comfortable bed and pillows. Low shower pressure. Only one room in the hotel with a walk in shower, an “accessible “ room. They need more - showers are more popular and use less water! Restaurant next door good value, again basic but fine. Staff great and we remembered them from a previous visit too. Breakfast good value. Paid parking, but only £3 per 24 hours. Convenient for our relatives, and close to M5. Plumbing could use an update."

Meillä oli todella lämmin tervetuloa Katelta (joka katsoi meitä loppuillan ja seuraavana aamuna) ja Annie, yksi omistajista, ei voinut tehdä tarpeeksi meille. Ruoka oli upea (pihdit keitetyt täydellisyyteen); aamiainen valikossa oli hyvä valikoima waffleista ja paahduksista ja säilöntäaineista omeletteihin ja suuria aamiaista - kaikki keitetyt tilaukseksi. Meillä oli koko Englanti, joka oli poikkeuksellinen - tuoreet sauvat ja bacon paikallisen teurastajan Nick Brownin; kaunis makea, mehukas tomaatit-on-the-vin, kauniisti keitetyt sienet - ja jos haluat, Hash Browns ja musta pudding - voit saada niin paljon tai niin vähän kuin haluat, kaikki sisältyy erittäin kohtuullisen hinnan huone. Rakastimme baarin - oikean paikallisen' kanssa quiz-yöt ja darts ja kiipeilu, ja arvostettiin 3 ulkona alueet voit istua. Kaksi seuraavaa huonetta ensimmäisessä kerroksessa oli tilava, puhdas ja mukava. Kyllä, paikka tarvitsee joitakin päivityksiä, mutta uudet omistajat ovat jo ollut vaikea tehdä parannuksia ja ovat suunnitteleneet paljon tulevaisuutta. Odotamme mennä takaisin!"
