"The room was clean and the facilities were fairly complete, though a bit small. It would be perfectly fine as student accommodation. However, as a commercial rental, the price is quite steep; at around 1200 including tax, the value for money isn't great. Because it's dormitory-style with area doors (each area having five or six rooms) and shared kitchen doors, the sound insulation is poor, so it can get quite noisy. There's often a chorus of loud doors opening and closing, as well as hairdryer noise. The train tracks are right across the street, but it wasn't noisy at night, perhaps due to infrequent service."

"Reception was fuss-free, typical travelodge and easy to do. I was allocated my room (LG-03) in the lower ground, which sounded ok. I headed down and the corridors seem to just get smaller and smaller. After following the rat run, I ended up at my room at the end of the corridor between the lift and stairs. It was huge, however only had one heater. It turns out (after realising), the room is directly below the cafe-bar which means constant scraping of chairs and moving of feet above. The room was cold, loud and unfortunately not a great nights sleep."

Breakfast was pretty standard, and the variety wasn't very extensive. The only minor downside was the price, which was a bit steep, but then again, accommodation in Edinburgh isn't cheap."

"The hotel is a little over a ten-minute walk from the station, which is acceptable. The service was neither good nor bad, and they wouldn't upgrade my room despite my platform order. I was given a room on the highest floor, the 6th, but there wasn't much of a view. The room was quite spacious, and the bedding was clean, but it was really annoying that they didn't provide slippers. When I asked for them at night, they said I could only get them in the morning."

"The location was great, however the whole place could really work with some more events/ activities being organised by the community. The work space / lounge was not massive and there were no form of fans/ventilation system apart from opening the windows. At night, the rooms can get very stuffy. For the price being charged per bed - the hostel can easily facilitate some fans at the least (if not aircon). It rains in Edinbrugh quite a bit = but there are no proper place to hang your jacket to dry up as well. Overall it was okay experience but even for backpackers - things can be changed for better in future. Thank you."

"Overall a good stay, not to far from city center, tram just across the street and also a big shopping center access the street for coffee shopping etc. Hotel is very average, breakfast not fully worth the full amount as not a lot to choose from. Other than bread pastries and cereals, no hot food such as eggs sausages etc. Room in itself is ok quite small but it done the job. Now with cleaning we found it quite often that only beds were being made and bins changed toilet wasn't being cleaned as it would be the exact same and things not refilled."
