Our island cottage is perfectly placed under a canopy of magnificent live oaks, just steps away from the ocean. Nestled on a quiet beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to nearby Southport. Public sidewalks along E Oak Island Drive make it easy to walk or bike to your favorite spots. Our classic cottage has been recently renovated and cheerfully decorated. With 1212 square feet and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space for you to comfortably relax. There are two living/entertaining areas in the home, both centrally connected through the galley kitchen. Two bedrooms provide enough sleeping arrangements for 4 guests. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, television and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers two twin beds (one is a trundle with an extra memory foam topper). Two full bathrooms with walk-in showers. Linens are provided (sheets, towels/washcloths) along with shampoo and soap. A full-size washer and dryer is available just off the master bedroom.If you decide to cook in during your stay, the kitchen has all the essentials you’ll need - refrigerator, oven, microwave dishwasher, pots/pans, utensils, coffee pot, dishes. A roll of paper towels will be provided, along with dish soap and detergent.Cable TV, wi-fi, bluetooth speaker along with some games, books and puzzles are available for your enjoyment.The spacious fully-fenced backyard with hammock and outdoor seating offers the perfect place to relax while children and pets safely play. Welcome to "Not On Call", a charming 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cottage in Cape Fear Station, near East Beach. Sleeps 4-5. Located just 2 minutes by golf cart to the favored East Beach, and walking distance to the Turtle Conservancy, Mike's Bites, and the Commons Park. Our cottage was updated in 2020. Remodeled kitchen with quartz countertops, marble backsplash, new stove, and dishware. Bath and beach towels are provided. New interior paint and decor, new rugs and leather chaise. Dining table and master vanity with quartz countertops. We pride ourselves on keeping our home fresh, tidy, and clean. We do have a no pets and no smoking policy.The first floor has a bright entryway, a garage for the 4-seater golf cart, a bedroom with queen-sized bed, wall mounted television, and full bathroom with walk-in shower. The second floor contains the living room with a comfortable sofa, arm chair, and leather chaise, updated kitchen with new appliances, dining nook, and closet with full-sized washer/dryer. The third floor is a family suite with a teak queen bed and side tables, a twin over full bunk bed, large vanity, and a full bathroom with walk-in shower. Wall mounted television in first floor bedroom, as well as a large flat screen and Blu-Ray DVD player in the living room. Both televisions are smart TVs. There is a large movie library, as well as board games and puzzles.Beach chairs, and beach towels are provided. We have a few adult-sized bicycles that are kept outside and are available for your use. Please note the bicycles are in "as is" condition - guests are welcome to use them or, if they prefer, they can rent bicycles from one of the on-island shops. Guests have the option of purchasing a temporary guest membership to Bald Head Island Club, allowing guests to access pools, waterslides, golf, tennis, pickleball, croquet, and multiple restaurants and coffee bar. The pools are heated through the end of October and re-open in April. The Sumners Crescent community has a shared deck with benches for relaxing. There is also a charcoal grill at the cottage.BHI also offers historical tours, kayak rentals, bicycle rentals, guided fishing trips, turtle conservancy, nature trails, shopping, crabbing, etc. So much to enjoy, whether visiting in the midst of summer or in the off-season.We are also the owners of “Fish N’ Chips”, a larger 4 BR home just a few doors down - perfect if you are looking for a second home for friends or family. Kid features: 2 pack and plays, a large walk in closet that fits one of the pack and plays for baby/toddlers to sleep in (completely dark with outlets for monitors), Dohm sound machines in both rooms, a high chair, and an inflatable bath tub. We also have seatbelts on the golf cart for extra safety while driving around. Additionally, if you would like help in securing a babysitter for some days or nights during your time on the island, we are happy to provide a few resources to find those. The Pink Cottage started as a fishing shack in 1955, the year after hurricane Hazel. In 1968 the 2 bedrooms and a bathroom were added. Also the back porch was enclosed and the kitchen was added including a large deck facing the water. In 2021 the shack was completely renovated and became The Pink Cottage. An enclosed outside shower with hot and cold water was added. The kitchen is fully furnished including a dishwasher. The pink cottage overlooks Montgomery Slough with its tidal creek where at low tide the many species of birds feed, at high tide watch for the dolphins. You may access the Slough at 17th Place West where you can catch your own shrimp, crab, or just explore the marsh with all its abundant life. You can also launch your kayak from this access.
