Under consumer rights and hotel service regulations, we demand an immediate full refund for this stay. Failure to comply will leave us no choice but to escalate the matter through legal and consumer protection channels. Unser Aufenthalt im Steigenberger Hotel Köln war völlig inakzeptabel. Die Klimaanlage in unserem Zimmer war eiskalt und funktionierte nicht, trotz zahlreicher Meldungen an die Rezeption. Das Personal gab widersprüchliche Informationen, leere Versprechen und unternahm keinerlei Maßnahmen, das Problem zu beheben. Dies stellt eine klare Verletzung der bei der Buchung zugesicherten Leistungen dar. Nach Verbraucherrechten und Hotelservice-Vorschriften fordern wir die sofortige vollständige Rückerstattung. Sollte dies nicht erfolgen, sehen wir uns gezwungen, rechtliche und verbraucherschutzrechtliche Schritte einzuleiten."

"About 900 meters from Cologne Central Station, the hotel is undergoing partial renovation, so the facilities are a bit old. The bathroom is particularly large, but the room itself isn't huge. Soundproofing isn't great, and it can be a bit noisy around 8 AM when the hotel staff starts cleaning. On the bright side, there are plenty of restaurants and shops nearby. The front desk and other staff are very welcoming and friendly."

"Please note that check-in must be done at a related hotel; the location shown on Google Maps does not have a reception desk and cannot be accessed directly (breakfast is also in a different building). They guide you via intercom, but it would have been smoother if they had let you know in advance. It seems there are several buildings, and I stayed in a different building, but the room was separated into a dining room with a mini-kitchen and a bedroom, and I had a very comfortable stay! (Although it was completely different from the photo at the time of booking.) There is no elevator, so you will have to move between buildings, but if you don't mind that, it's a good value and recommended."
