Gem of a place, abit pricy but the service is worth it.. booked for my dad and his comments were quite pleasant.

The hotel has an adorable maroccan style and is located in a very safe area of Centurion. The staff was adorable and so helpful to explain and giving direction. Was lovely that once I’ve back in the room after dinner they prepared my bed for bedtime, opened the heater and left me the dental kit a long with a nice small chocolate block. Breakfast as well was very delicious and served at Zagora restaurant which has very chilled vibes. No idea if I will be back soon in South Africa but if I will do, I will choose once again to stay with them.

Will be awesome if a buffet breakfast be served .The fish pond needs a maintained so that the fish can be seen.

At first glance the rooms are beautiful and spacious. We had serveral disappointing moments. 3 days we had water trouble, no hot water for 2 and no water pressure the 3rd. They did however come and fix it. The towels had black marks on them, The plunger for the coffee was in a bad condition and the rusks which was a nice touch they only gave us1 rusk for 2 people in the room. So much potential however quite disappointing.

Stay was really nice, and I enjoyed the style of the place. Rooms are very spacious. A suggestion is to give better indication and directions of exactly where to locate reception. It was not very clear. I arrived late at night and it was dark already and could not locate reception for check in.

We decided to celebrate my daughter’s 21st birthday at The Royal Elephant Hotel with breakfast at Fezorati. This turned out to be a very good choice, as they provide a very comprehensive and tasty buffet breakfast. For the less hungry guests they also have a continental breakfast option. Upon our arrival we were welcomed in a very friendly way by Michael. He was very neatly dressed in his uniform and showed us to our table. They offer a great variety of dishes for the full buffet, that included fruit and yoghurts, cereals and several warm dishes. Some tasty pastries are provided to enjoy with your tea or coffee. Tony, the manager was always visible on the floor, ensuring that everything was to the guests’ satisfaction. The only service that I missed was an omelette station. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed the breakfast and would most definitely recommend it to friends and colleagues

Our Department recently held our yearend function at the Royal Elephant in the Zagora Gazebo. What a disappointment. There were not enough staff to serve us. The food was ghastly. Beef was tough and dry and the chicken coq au vin, looked like offcuts you would not even give your dogs. After raising our concerns with the MD, we were told that "on odd occasions, the do not meet their patron's expectations" and that they will not reimburse us for the meals. I think it was not an unreasonable request, but the MD was of the opposite opinion. We are a big company. 35 members of staff attended the function and the majority complained about the bad service and the poor quality of the food. I will encourage all of them to share their reviews. We will always remember our yearend function of 2024 as the worst experience ever! I was so embaressed. I had to hear all the complaints of members of staff. And when reaching out to the MD, I only received a response that sorry to hear, but we are not willing to remedy or reimburse. How pathetic! Stay away.
