The room smelled strongly of fresh paint, and the drain was severely clogged. Check-out was incredibly inefficient; I waited 15 to 20 minutes. For a price of over a thousand, it felt quite overpriced."

"I booked a double room but was given twin beds for some reason. I stayed there. The hotel is quite safe and large. It took me a while to find the main door. The facilities are a bit old, but it was still very comfortable to stay in. The breakfast variety is OK. The area around the hotel is relatively safe, unlike some slums that are so chaotic."

"Aside from the view of the Pyramids from the rooftop and a good breakfast, everything else is best avoided: rooms without double glazing, so even on the sixth floor (where I was staying) you can't sleep because of the honking horns all night; towels were often dirty (stains I didn't bother investigating), not only in my room but also in other friends' rooms; the cleaner often forgot to provide towels for two people since I was sharing a room with my husband, so I had to ask; and bathroom products weren't replenished every day, so sometimes I had to shower with shampoo because there was no shower gel."

"Don't eat anything from the mini-fridge in the room; they'll charge you 400 EGP for it! 😉 I stayed here for three nights. On the first day, the front desk told me breakfast only started at 9 AM and if I wanted it earlier, they would pack it for me to take away. But on the second and third days, with a different front desk person, they were able to deliver it to my room by 7-8 AM. 😅"

"The room was tiny, and the carpet was quite dirty. It was connected to the room next door, but there was no deadbolt, which felt like a security risk. There were no slippers or toothbrushes. I called the front desk three times for slippers, and each time they said they'd send them right over, but nothing arrived by check-out. Also, the shower water was barely warm, even at its hottest setting. I only chose Novotel Cairo Airport for a short rest before an early morning flight; I definitely wouldn't stay here overnight for a proper trip."
