"The hotel itself is a bit older, and you can definitely feel its age in some areas of the property. That said, it still maintains a certain traditional charm. One thing to note is that the location isn’t the easiest to access on foot—you’ll really need a car to get around comfortably, especially if you plan to explore the surrounding area. What truly stood out during my stay was the restaurant staff. They were exceptionally helpful, attentive, and warm throughout my visit. Their hospitality made the dining experience one of the highlights of the hotel. The meals were well-prepared and thoughtfully presented, adding a special touch to each day. Overall, while the facilities could use a bit of updating and the location is best suited for travelers with a vehicle, the kindness and service of the restaurant staff made the stay worthwhile."

"사장님과 직원분들이 정말 친절했던 숙소였습니다. 유후인 버스터미널에서 내려서 숙소까지 걸어서 약 18분 정도 걸렸어요. 길 대부분은 평지라 걷기 어렵지는 않았지만 숙소에 가까워질수록 마지막 구간에 비포장도로가 있어서 캐리어를 끌고 갈 때 소리가 조금 크게 나는 편이었습니다. 숙소는 전체적으로 정갈하고 아늑한 분위기였고 내부에 골동품샵과 빈티지 의류를 판매하는 공간이 함께 있어 구경하는 재미도 있었어요. 차를 마실 수 있는 프리 공간과 간단히 식사를 할 수 있는 공용 공간도 마련되어 있어서 여유롭게 머물기 좋았습니다. (웰컴티와 인절미같은 일본 전통 떡을 주셨습니다.) 온천은 한 공간에 2개가 있는데 저녁 시간에는 약 45분씩 프라이빗 온천으로 이용할 수 있고 아침 시간에만 남녀 구분된 공용 온천으로 운영됩니다. 프라이빗 온천을 이용할 수 있어서 더 편하고 좋았어요. 객실은 정말 깨끗하고 정갈했고 일본식 목조건축 특유의 나무 향도 너무 좋았습니다. 사진보다 실제 공간이 더 예쁘게 느껴졌어요. 체크아웃 후 짐은 유후인역 바로 옆 투어리즘 인포메이션 센터에서 맡길 수 있고 짐 개수에 따라 요금이 달라집니다. 캐리어 하나 맡기는 데 약 800엔 정도 들었어요. 숙소에서 킨린 호수까지 도보로 약 10분 정도라 아침 산책하기에 정말 좋습니다. 점심 시간이 가까워지면 관광객이 많이 몰리니 가능하다면 아침 8~9시쯤 방문하는 걸 추천해요. 겨울 아침에는 물안개가 피어 있고 호수로 가는 길에 작은 절과 숲이 있어서 조용하고 신비로운 분위기가 느껴졌습니다. 어딘가 지브리 영화 센과 치히로 초반 터널 장면을 떠올리게 하는 음산하면서도 아름다운 분위기가 인상 깊었어요. 전반적으로 조용하고 따뜻한 분위기의 숙소라 유후인에서 여유롭게 머물고 싶은 분들께 추천하고 싶습니다."

"The place is a bit far from the Yufuin station. It was a long walk. Recommend to take a taxi which costs about ¥750. There are private and public onsen to choose from. The public one has better view. Dinner and breakfast were good."

"Pros: Dinner was ramen with gyoza at the restaurant which tasted good. Staff were friendly. Onsen onsite was good. Nice view and countryside vibes. Cons Location was quite a distance from the station, recommended to travel light if staying there. Heating was on in autumn with no option to change to aircon despite the weather outside being a mere 14 degrees."

"We had a great 2 nights stay at this Ryokan. Location was near Yufuin Floral Village, and around 20 mins walk from Yufuin JR station. It was a nice walk to Yufuin JR station as there were many shops and eateries that you can visit along the way. Alternatively, there is also bus 36 from Yufuin but terminal that would stop near to the ryokan. The staff were really outstanding, friendly and helpful. When we arrived, a couple of them rushed to help us with our luggage and to also shelter us from the rain. During the entire stay, they made us feel very welcomed. The Western/Japanese room that we booked was very spacious and had all the amenities we required. Note that this is a 2 storey living area - level 1 had a bathroom with private indoor and outdoor onsen as well as the living room, while level 2 had a toilet (w/o bath) and 1 western bedroom as well as 1 Japanese bedroom. There are 4 public onsen in the ryokan. 2 for female and 2 for male. They would rotate it during the day and night to allow everyone to try out the different onsen. We also had our breakfast and dinner at the ryokan as part of the package. The dishes were different on both days. The spread was huge and food tasted great. Note that there are very few places open at Yufuin during dinner time."

"hotel is near the station and easy to reach. staff is helpful and nice. have welcome tea and snack. the public hot spring is quite big. food is general and taste is ok. there is a little park inside the hotel, can see the famius mountain."

"Located a convenient 10 minute walk from Yufuin station, Sansuikan is a great option if you're looking to treat yourself for a night. There are free flow snacks and drinks (including alcohol) in the lobby, and the dinner and breakfast are all-you-can-eat buffet style, also with free flow drinks. There are two onsens, M/F on the 1st/2nd floor and they swap service twice daily. Both floors have outdoor onsen (rotenburo) but the 1st floor onsen is much larger and includes a sauna. Do note the buffet signages were in Japanese only, so you may need to approach the staff for assistance if you aren't fluent. (Their staff are fluent in English.) Overall I was quite impressed with the experience for the price point. Would come back next time 😊"

"Located in a quaint little town which is about 1.5km away from Yufuin Station. Everything was perfect about this little Onsen Hotel/Inn and the food was beyond words could describe! The only downside was to get to and fro the hotel from Yufuin Station. Taxi will set you back ¥800 per way. Bus will only take you about 750m and you got to walk the rest of the distance upslope to the hotel. On the day of departure from the hotel, we pre-arranged a taxi to pick my wife and I up at 8.40am for our 9.07am train to Kumamoto and we were only informed that all taxi bookings were full at 8am. My wife and I had a hasty but tasty breakfast before making our way downslope, onto the Main Street to Yufuin Station. An early morning Route March some would call it. 😂 Thank you Yuhri for giving us the best of your service and the private Onsen was more than perfect too!"
