My recent stay at the Kulangsi Resort in Xiamen was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, it was clear this was a special place dedicated to providing a tranquil and luxurious getaway. Wonderful Environment: The resort is beautifully situated, offering a perfect blend of lush, manicured gardens and serene landscapes. It feels like a hidden oasis away from the city's hustle and bustle, yet it remains conveniently located. The views are stunning, and the overall atmosphere is one of peace and relaxation. It's an ideal spot for both couples and families looking to unwind. Excellent Hotel Facilities: The facilities are top-notch. Our room was spacious, impeccably clean, and featured a modern design with all the amenities one could ask for. The bed was incredibly comfortable, ensuring a great night's sleep. Beyond the room, the swimming pool was a delight, and the fitness center was well-equipped. Every corner of the resort is maintained to a very high standard. Standout Service from 小陈 (Xiao Chen): While every staff member we encountered was professional and friendly, one individual truly made our stay unforgettable: a gentleman named 小陈 (Xiao Chen). His service was, without exaggeration, world-class. He was incredibly thoughtful and anticipatory, always seeming to know what we needed before we even asked. From offering insightful local tips to ensuring every small detail of our room was perfect, his attention to care was remarkable. He embodies the true spirit of hospitality and is a tremendous asset to the Kulangsi Resort. Verdict: I wholeheartedly recommend the Kulangsi Resort. The beautiful environment and excellent facilities provide the perfect backdrop, but it's the outstanding service from people like Xiao Chen that transforms a great stay into a truly memorable one. The apartment location is in good environment, going around with taxi is fair enough, however, the building itself doesn't exist on the map, only the neighbor one does, which made us difficult to find the right building when we first arrived, plus we have no idea that the check in room, is one of the room on the 5th floor, as in the address of the hotel, it just put room 501, 521 Gaolin Road, etc. I recommend to give more details to ease the check-in of the hotel description like, 'when arrive, please contact room 501 on the 5th floor to check in', also, the hotel should pin the exact building location on the map, otherwise, guests may get lost on first arrive like us, whereas people around don't speak English to help too. The apartment itself is clean and in good condition with good space & layout. Facilities are good enough, except, the kitchen is kind of waste because there is no kitchenette at all, they only provide bottle water, glasses/paper cup & electric kettle in the kitchen, in which we expect a hotel apartment should have at least some kitchenette like tableware, cutlery, pot or pan (as they have electric stove) and at least a microwave oven & dishwashing liquid, which partly why we choose to stay in the apartment rather than normal hotel. This is one of the upset issues that we have for this stay. The breakfast comes as McDonald's breakfast coupon consists of one small Berger & a drink, which is fine as McDonald is on the street level of the building itself. Plus thing is that we can request for more bottle water & the disposable towel with no additional cost. Although the disposable towel is not so good to use as towel, they are still acceptable & hygienic, so, if you want more comfort, I suggest, bring your own towel. The washer works well, no dryer, but they provide hanger with drying space where there are windows open. The nearest large shopping center, Wanda Plaza, is nearby, taxi costs only ~CNY10, where you can find lots of restaurants & Walmart, etc. In overall, this property is good & worth of money.

We had a beautiful stay at Lan Hua Li and strongly recommend it to anyone wishing to stay in Xiamen. The setting of the hotel is gorgeous, on a hill just up from Shapowei. Walking distance (including to Nan Pu Tuo and Xiamen University), but a peaceful world away from the city overlooking Xiamen harbour. The property itself is very beautiful with a lovely outdoor area and gardens with a shallow pool, and a very peaceful bistro/cafe/bar. The rooms are beautiful. Just as you see in the photos. While the bed is lovely and the views gorgeous, the real winner is the bathtub in the bedroom. I'm not usually a bath person, but I bathed every night of our 6 night stay and loved it. In addition to this, there is also a very functional large bathroom with shower. What made the stay particularly charming is the kindness of the staff. Everyone - from the managers to the breakfast staff to the early morning cleaner who chatted to me while I had my dawn cigarette in the garden - was very welcoming and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. As a foreigner, with practical challenges travelling in China, I cannot emphasise enough how reassuring and helpful this was. We will always remember our stay at Lan Hua Li, and will recommend it to our friends and perhaps will come to stay again someday if we ever want a nostalgic holiday in Xiamen. A great 4 star hotel just 900 meters (about a 10 minute drive) from Xiamen T4 and T5 airports. ⭐️Positive aspects: Probably the biggest win is their airport shuttle service. They have a nice new Buick van (that is bright purple 🟪- so it is pretty hard to miss) and the van can be there within 10 minutes of when you call the hotel or message them from baggage claim. So the transportation is well organized and very efficient. Mr. Li the van driver was very sweet and kind. The hotel room was nice and big and has very cozy carpet and a nice soft bed with good linens. Shower is hot and amenities in the room are thoughtful, including white tea scented 🫖 soaps and shampoo. The breakfast, service, and furnishings are comparable to other 4 star chains in China like Holiday Inn or Hampton by Hilton or Lavande. Breakfast has a nice spread but mostly Chinese and not so western. That said, the food they do provide is high quality and the noodles are great and the coffee is real. I enjoyed the breakfast. ⭐️A few negative points: I liked the art theme in the hotel and they pull it off well. Each room is themed around a famous painting and I was in the Salvador Dali’s “melting clocks” ⏰ The only thing I can complain about is there are moments when the art feels a little cheesy. For instance- the little ash trays at the elevator with sand in them have kid’s decorations that feel a bit more like kids’ zone stuff than professional artwork. Also the shower 🚿 doors are red glass and that felt like more of a playful Kindergarten space than something matching Salvador Dali. Not a deal breaker but an observation. This kind of art theme can be difficult to pull off in China 🇨🇳. The only other small negative is there is some wear on some of the spaces and walls. At the front desk counter I noticed some old looking and chipped areas of the desk. Overall a great choice next to the airport. I would stay here again.

I had an exceptional stay at Mercure Hotel! From the moment I arrived, the service was impeccable. The staff went above and beyond to ensure my comfort, offering personalized recommendations and prompt assistance whenever needed. The room was spacious, spotlessly clean, and beautifully designed with modern amenities that made my stay incredibly relaxing. The hotel’s location is perfect, offering easy access to nearby attractions. The staff also kindly gave me breakfast coupons. The breakfast was delicious and vairous. They change the menu everyday and provide the specialties of Xiamen. Overall, my experience was nothing short of outstanding, and I will definitely be returning on my next trip to Xiamen. Highly recommend!!!

Overall the room is nice but guess I had high expectations as it was written it's an international hotel. The breakfast was all Chinese nothing catered for the other customers, so much improvement is needed there. Also non of the front desk or anyone I came across in the hotel speaks English........... One good thing is the hotel is not far from the airport and the nearest subway station and bus stop is justt by the hotel. One does not need to walk far.

The hotel is situated at a very bustling shopping street area, you can get all the local foods/snacks and a great place to buy souvenirs and gifts. Beside the hotel side door is 24hr mart and Luckin coffee, very convenient. Although the hotel looks abit dated but cleanliness is still up to standard and room is spacious. Laundry room and gym is abit hectic to get to, u need to climb a flight of stairs from 2nd floor to 3rd floor ( not accessible by lift). I liked the customer services from the reception and housekeeping, they attended to our issues promptly and sincerely. We had enjoyed the stay with the hotel.

The hotel is pretty new. The room is clean and they provided the toiletries. There is housekeeping daily to clean the room but they did not make the bed. The room is equipped with smart appliance that works with voice commands to Xiao Du. There is a laundry area and guest can access to it with free of charge. However, few of the room that we booked, has problem with the flooring. The hotel quickly changed us for a new room when we complaint about the flooring that caused hazard. The breakfast is similar everyday with little choice. The hotel is at level three of the shopping mall. There is a lot of eatery shop nearby with a convenience shop opposite the hotel. In short, the location is very strategic and can access to all shops (e.g. pharmacy, lucking coffee, bread shop, milk tea shop, eatery street, and etc) at walking distance.

Given the late hour and festive season, we were concerned that nearby restaurants might already be closed. To our pleasant surprise, several small eateries within 50 meters of the hotel were still open, allowing us to enjoy a proper late dinner. It was a reassuring start to our stay. The hotel’s environment is comfortable and welcoming. The lobby features a bright, clean design with warm wood tones and soft lighting that create a calm, relaxing atmosphere. A tasteful display area and cozy seating space add a subtle blend of business functionality and artistic charm. The front desk staff were professional and courteous, and the check-in process was smooth and efficient despite the late hour. We stayed in the Premier Themed Room (Japanese Style with Sakura), which was truly one of the highlights of our trip. Upon entering, we were greeted by a beautifully designed Japanese-inspired interior. Warm lighting, wooden flooring, and delicate sakura (cherry blossom) wall art created a serene and elegant ambiance. Wooden partition panels and subtle decorative details added refinement, giving the space an artistic yet tranquil feel — almost like a small ryokan-style retreat in the heart of Xiamen. The room was thoughtfully designed, spacious, and impeccably clean. A charming feature was the private balcony, which allowed fresh air in. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, dressed in crisp white linens. The mattress offered excellent support, and the pillows were soft yet supportive, ensuring a restful night’s sleep. All essential toiletries were generously provided, including shampoo, conditioner, body wash, dental kits, slippers, and towels. Everything was neatly arranged and well-maintained, reflecting attention to guest comfort. The complimentary breakfast was another pleasant surprise. It offered a good variety of well-prepared options, making it a satisfying way to start each day. The location is highly convenient, close to the Xiamen International Convention & Exhibition Center, with California Plaza Shopping Mall next door offering numerous dining choices. Whether for business or leisure, the hotel is an excellent option. Most importantly, the nightly rate was very reasonable and offered excellent value, especially considering the themed décor, balcony, full amenities, and included breakfast. The stay exceeded our expectations. We would gladly choose this room again on our next visit. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 Highly recommended!
