"Stayed 5 days at Sheraton Shantou. The breakfast had good variety and the rooms were clean with a nice ambience. Overall, the stay was comfortable. However, service standards need improvement for a 5-star hotel. Firstly, management may want to place greater emphasis on a ”customer first” mindset among staff. On several occasions, staff did not greet guests in the lobby or in the lift. At times, staff would exit the lift before guests without holding the door. While these may seem like small gestures, they significantly impact the overall guests experience, especially at a hotel of this standard. Secondly, the WiFi connection for international mobile phones was very poor. The connection was unstable and slow, which was inconvenient."

"This is first ATour Origin hotel we stayed. The decor looks very appealing, bedroom spacious and well furnished with up to date electronics for light, aircon controls. Despite breakfast price some 20CNY higher than standard ATour hotels, we found the spread even lesser with limited choice . An example was no orange servings. Entrance to main lobby is through another small lane so rather inconvenient to hail Didi taxi. Price wise, higher than ATour standard and X hotels"

The XiaoDu in our room is not very responsive and we didn't know how to adjust the air conditioning as we thought it was centrally controlled. Thus the room felt quite warm. It was our mistake for not clarifying with the staff.

The loft apartment showcases a striking modern design that is both artistic and inviting, creating an ideal environment for relaxation. Its convenient location is another significant advantage; situated near a variety of local and international dining options, the property is merely a 10-minute taxi ride from the high-speed railway station and the largest shopping district in the area. This makes it perfect for both culinary exploration and retail therapy. A delightful highlight of my stay was the complimentary in-room breakfast for two. This included delicious Chinese dim sum alongside both sweet and salted soya milk, providing a wonderful start to the day. While there is no conventional television in the apartment, the presence of a projector, which supports in-app movies and screen mirroring for Apple and Android devices, offers a unique and enjoyable alternative for entertainment. Additionally, the apartment was equipped with an appropriate number of guest amenities and bathing necessities, ensuring a comfortable stay. However, there were some drawbacks that warrant attention. One significant concern was the extremely slippery bathroom floor, which could pose safety risks. The addition of an anti-slip mat would greatly enhance guest safety. Furthermore, I found the storage water heater to be somewhat inconvenient, particularly during winter. Waiting 20 minutes for hot water after each shower was frustrating, especially for those who prefer longer showers. Lastly, as an apartment without a reception area, the check-in process could benefit from clearer instructions. A more straightforward guide for guests would be advantageous. In conclusion, while the accommodation offers numerous appealing features, addressing these noted drawbacks would significantly improve the overall guest experience.

VVieraskäyttäjäThe grand hotel is located in the city of Chaoyang - a small industrial city - possibly best known for it’s production of undergarment. Chaoyang is approximately 39-45 minutes (by car) away from Shantou city center. The hotel has recently been elaborately renovated which explains why it - for the most part - looks like it was just recently built and opened. Older reviews are therefor inaccurate. I visited a friend in the city and during my stay I enjoyed the comfort of one of the hotel’s two-room business suites. Both rooms (living room and bed room) can be separated by a proper door. The bedroom has its own nice big bathroom with a toilet, huge shower and sink. In the hallway (before the living room) there is a restroom with its very own toilet and sink. This is very practical if you plan to receive guests in your business suite - because they won’t have to walk through your bedroom in order to use the toilet. I never had a business suite before but when I saw the price and the pictures I suspected it could be an amazing deal - and it absolutely was. I would love to stay at this hotel again. The hotel has a small restaurant that offers a good Chinese breakfast. A spa and karaoke-bar are located inside the hotel. In my business suite I I never noticed the bar. No noise. I was going to visit the the spa but it was closed due to renovation.

TTravellingWallyNo regrets paying more for this beautiful homestay! 花多点钱住这里一点遗憾也没有！ My parents, sibling and I stayed for a total of 3 nights in their 4 pax room. It’s a beautiful and tastefully decorated accommodation with personal courtyard and interior. Bed and duvet were so comfortable especially in the chilly weather of 18 ~ 22 degrees. I didn’t spot anything obvious I can complain about regarding the cleanliness of this place, hence 5/5 for cleanliness. Location is perfect (5/5). Next to streets of food places that have good ratings, and super near 万象城 shopping mall (restaurants, luxury shops, retail and more). Anyways cabbing around Shantou is really convenient, fast, and affordable. Even though it is nested amongst other tall residential area, once we close the door we couldn’t hear much noise from outside. Service is 5/5 as well. There’s free pickup and drop off serviced from the railway station. There’s daily fresh fruits delivered to us, as well as chicken soup. There’s also free laundry service which we really appreciate! Staffs were always ready to help and always ready to give recommendations. We really felt their hospitality and they are genuine in providing best service possible. Amenities is 5/5 as well. The hair dryer is Laifen brand which is so strong and sleek looking. They provide disposable towels on top of those reusable towels. Their slippers are fluffy and comfy. They have like everything we need. Bonus: Their residential cat and her kittens are adorable!!! All in all wonderful stay and would stay again if i ever visit Shantou again. Suggestions for improvement: (1) more variety in breakfast options (stayed for 3 nights and felt that some breakfast options would be great), and (2) the shower gel, shampoo, and conditioner are a little too hard to pour out maybe can consider using press bottles.

Every staff member I encountered – from reception to housekeeping – went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their friendliness, efficiency, and genuine hospitality really made me feel valued as a guest. They also help to receive my taobao delivery of parcels. Well down for all staff. The hotel’s room & lobby cleanliness is well-maintained. My room felt fresh, tidy, and inviting, with thoughtful touches that showed the care and attention put into daily upkeep. The housekeeping team did an amazing job, and I truly appreciated their promptness and consistency throughout my stay. The location is also a major highlight – conveniently situated near key attractions located in shantou old city , dining options, yet peaceful enough for a restful night’s sleep. It made exploring the area effortless, and I could easily return to the hotel for a quick rest before heading out again. The amenities exceeded my expectations. The facilities were modern, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed to cater to both leisure and big group of families. From the helpful lounge areas to the private VIP big room facilities, and in-room conveniences, everything was in place to make my stay both enjoyable and productive. Overall, my experience here was nothing short of excellent. It’s rare to find a place that delivers consistently on all fronts – cleanliness, service, location, and amenities – but this hotel truly does. A heartfelt thank you to the entire team for their dedication and kindness. I would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone visiting the area, and I look forward to returning in the future.

VVieraskäyttäjäAmazing service by the very friendly staff. DIY workshop for traditional ChaoShan “dumpling” 红桃粿 was an amazing experience as well. The room was tidy and clean, with the cleaning staff taking extra good care of us. The only bad thing I can complain about is the TV’s inability to support Airplay, but nonetheless the room and hotel in general was superb. Additionally the location of the hotel is great, quiet at night as it is close to a residential area, but only 200-300 meters from restaurants and whatnot. Would totally recommend families and couples to stay here. Anyways thanks to the staff.

VVieraskäyttäjäI was very impressed by this hotel albeit just outside the main area of the town, a slow walk of 2 kilometres. The reception was very efficient in checking us in and allocate our room on the 10th floor. The room was large by the standards we were accustomed to in the West, whilst the bed was just right and very comfortable. The costs of our 2 night stay was incrediblely cheap with breakfast by any standard albeit Chaoyang isn't a 1st line city. The service we got was second to none, especially the night front desk lady - Suki Li and the day front desk young man - Alan Cheng. They bent over backward to help especially with my limited putonghua by conversing in Cantonese instead. They helped with taxi bookings when I could not because of I didn't have a local mobile number plus trying to use the automated vending machine which was QR coded as per norm in China. Breakfast was a mixture of oriental and western food. I was glad that the hotel has decent English breakfast tea unlike many others that we had stayed in, in additonal, the self service coffee machine can produce a decent coffee that satisfied the wife ( 2 shots of expresso plus 1 flat white or 1 Americano). The only complaint I have was that there is no milk power or fresh milk available in the room for making tea or coffee, it's one issue that the hotel management should consider in the near future. Overall, the hotel was cleaned and modern. I have no hesitation in recommend it.

VVieraskäyttäjäOur first time visiting Shantou. This hotel is close to the train station. Basically you can see the train station from the hotel room window. However walking there especially dragging along with the suitcases is a bit of a challenge. We hired a taxi and the fee was 30 Yuen. We were quite surprised with the cleanliness of the hotel room and the hotel itself. We asked for a non smoking room but there was an ash tray in the room but no cigarette smoke smell. The front desk said there is an ash tray in every room. I guess it's a general practice here. I have to mention that the staffs here were super friendly and with lots of patience. We got advices to where to eat, sight seeing, buying train tickets etc. It's like having a guardian behind you, ready to help. The room fee was relatively inexpensive in terms of the big room size, nice modern washroom facility with plenty of clean towels, nice big clean bed. We extended the stay, relaxed in the room and tried the local foods around the hotel area (plenty restaurants in walking distance). Big shopping malls are within walking distance. So far we are very happy with the hotel especially with the front dest staffs and the room service staff. Definitely we will choose this hotel again in the future. Thank you and keep it up.
