"I had a very pleasant surprise at Odelya. The hotel is very conveniently located, easily reachable by bus from Basel main station and a nice walk to the heart of the old town. Very quiet surrounding with a park, qualitative breakfast buffet with outdoor seating, I really enjoyed my stay there. I stayed in a renovated room that was well designed, comfortable and clean. Food and beverage facilities are limited but there are a few nice options within walking distance from the hotel. I will be back!"

"Stayed here for a week. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location, just a walk away to tram and bus station. The best thing was, International guests got Basel Card for free transportation within the city. Will comeback and stay at this hotel again if I i hv the opportunity."

"Arrived in Basel a day early to begin a Rhine River cruise. Folks at Hotel D were nice, accommodating. Good directions and some site maps provided. The hotel was centrally located and not far (walk or tram) to where the rive boat dock was. Nice lobby and though small (standard for Europe) had a nice room. Over all clean and sufficiently supplied. Easy to walk around from to see old city sites and garner food. Basel is nice town to begin this part of Europe trip. Hotel D started us off on the right foot."

"Room was extremely outdated, shower covered in limescale, skirtings coming apart on the walls not to mention it was very hot. The tea & coffee is a decent touch but you’ve certainly paid the price for it as it’s expensive to stay. No staff what so ever, I unfortunately injured my foot badly on holiday & asked through the external buzzer if someone could help me with my case down the steps they said no that no one was available. States you get a BaselCard on arrival - I didn’t. No housekeeping - apparently you need to put a card on the door for it - I had no idea again as there is no staff to run you through anything on arrival. Upon me telling them this they responded the hotel is not newly renovated but well kept (limescale & departing skirtings does not seem well kept to me) and the room was superior room and enjoyed by guests (wouldn’t like to see the rest of them then) That they do not offer a luggage service (I didn’t not ask for this I had already struggled from my room on the 4 th floor all the way down to the lobby myself - I simply needed help out the front door as there are around 10 steps and I only had use of one foot!) Just told me to leave a review so here it is. Poor attitude, poor hotel - Hostel with hotel prices"

"Pros: ✔ Clean, high-quality bed linen and towels. Cons: ❌ The apartment reeked of cigarette smoke, it seems previous guests smoked everywhere, despite strict no-smoking policy. This was very unpleasant."

"It was a horrible experience from start to finish. First of all, there is no receptionist at the hotel at 5 pm on a weekday and no where to park your car. The front door is locked. You have to go across the tram road to get a key and check in from the hotel opposite of the road thru a garden with stairs while carrying your luggage. Absolutely no instructions on where to briefly park the car when I unload the luggage. You have to then park in a public parking up the hills. So it is totally misleading when it says on their amenities that provide parking and charging for electric vehicles. The worst is yet to come. The room I had for the night, had this on going buzzing noisy periodically from the vent of the air conditioning and you are right next to the tram line so it’s really loud noise when the tram go by both ways. This is not a four star hotel by any means. I did not have any sleep for the night and will never return to this hotel again or any of their chain hotels of the group."

"On the offchance we went to Les Trois Rois in Basel for a break during the visit of some friends and the welcome was outstanding. We were ushered to a wonderful spot in the lounge and ordered coffees/teas (a superb selection) and something sweet to revive us on a wet afternoon. The service was excellent and we all enjoyed this break from the weather outside at a very reasonable cost. Our thanks to everyone."
