However, the pool is a little dirty. The restaurant tastes ok and the price is basically the same as that of local restaurants. It's just that the room facilities are a bit old. It doesn't look like a five-star hotel of this era. It may also be a common problem of southern European hotels."

Vieläkin mielelläni Villa Pedrosu kenelle haluaa oleskella Algherossa nauttimalla rauhasta ympäröivässä maaseudussa ja pitämällä lentokenttä lähellä. Super suositeltavaa, että joille on viiniä intohimoinen, koska omistaja, entinen somellier ja omistaja viinitila, tarjoaa mahdollisuuden maistaa pulloja yhdessä terävä lautas. "Old and dirty ! At the arrival no one was at reception for wile after pressing the bell for several time ! We got given a room that we had to ask to change it for another room as it wasn't clean ! Hair , spider web and descanting toilets ! My fiancé was terrified ! The replacing room was about the same ! I don't know what does the cleaner do ! A glass was broken in the balcony the day we arrived and was still there the day we left ! I won't recommend this hole to no one !"

"The hotel advertises itself as a 4-star property, but in our opinion it is closer to a 2-star hotel, at best. Up on arrival we received very little information, no information about breakfast hours, housekeeping, or the Wi-Fi. Our room was small, and the beds were old and worn. The mattress was actually shorter than the bed frame. The curtains did not hang properly because the curtain rail was damaged, and it was obvious that the area under the beds had not been cleaned. Storage space was extremely limited, with very little wardrobe or shelf space. The bathroom had an unpleasant smell, was also very small, and the shower was cramped. There was only a tiny shelf (about 10 × 30 cm) for toiletries. The toilet was difficult to flush properly. The room was poorly soundproofed, and we were woken during the night by people talking and walking in the corridor. Breakfast was very basic. There were no boiled or fried eggs, very limited cold cuts and fresh vegetables, but an abundance of sweet pastries and cakes. The staff were friendly, but the overall level of service was disappointing. After three days we wanted to exchange the beach towels, for which we had already paid €10, but we were told we would have to pay again for fresh ones. The hotel’s biggest strengths are its location directly opposite the beach and the pleasant 20-minute walk along the seafront promenade to Alghero’s beautiful old town. We also had a small balcony overlooking the sea, which was a lovely place to end the day with a drink while watching life go by. Overall, Hotel San Marco has a long way to go before it deserves a 4-star rating."

"I found the staff very polite and helpful, air conditioning great and spotless.....found the place was noisy in the morning and night scraping chairs and could hear shower and toilet from next door. Near the beach which a part is used a dump for rubbish which caused a smell."

"I honestly can’t believe anybody would say anything bad about this hotel. I travel quite a bit throughout Europe and this is one of my favorite hotels. You definitely feel like you’re living in the past when you step in. It’s kind of a magical hotel!! The furnishings are lovely and old and the floors are absolutely stunning with some sort of inlaid tile or something. The staff goes out of their way to be helpful. I would like to give a shout out to Mario the bartender —he was pleasant and funny and always asking everyone if they were doing OK. He seemed to work a lot so it was nice to have a pleasant person around checking on us. We brought my daughter and her boyfriend and they were both blown away about how nice the hotel was. It’s an extremely short walk to town and if you can’t walk that far, you probably shouldn’t be traveling through Europe. The gym is huge, which is nice for me because I like to work out. Plenty of places to get exercise and walk along the beautiful waterfront. We didn’t eat at the hotel except for breakfast, but it was very good. We got two balcony rooms and I would say that was so Worth the extra money. Every night we sat outside and looked at the stars and listened to the ocean crashing and again it seemed like something in a dream and magical. And in another note, if you are American as we are— news flash!!—. We are not exactly Europe’s favorite tourists right now. I never felt any animosity at all at this hotel by the staff but one of the taxi drivers not associated with the hotel was rude to us. The employees here are all a class act. Thank you for your kindness!! I didn’t take any pictures of the resort itself just pictures with us in them so sorry for that but you can see how beautiful the view views are from these pictures. Enjoy."

"Fantastic place. Passing through the historic center, you arrive directly at this delightful guest house in the heart of Alghero. To enter, you use a very convenient code, and then up some stairs you reach a small lounge equipped with a self-service cafe and drinks. The room is charming: beautiful, spacious, spotlessly clean, and comfortable. It features a minibar, air conditioning, a TV, a hair dryer, and a welcome kit including toothbrushes. The bathroom is modern and impeccable. The convenience of being right in the historic center is priceless. The prices are truly affordable. We will definitely be back."
