去的時候剛好趕上婚禮，大堂裡外都是熱情洋溢喜氣洋洋的老外。前台有衹值班的狗，乖極了。如果帶着孩子，需要額外每衹30胖子的付費，這個，呃……如果沒有這筆費用還是不錯的。第二天的免費自助早餐不錯，咖啡點了以後，服務員送。走廊裏有自助牛奶和自助飲用水。停車免費呦，停車場挺大，基本不用擔心沒地方，因為即使頭一天婚禮來滿了人，也依舊有少許停車位。
雖然英國每天都陰沉下雨或者颳風下雪，但是我們卻在這裏看到了久違的漫天繁星。

Неплохой отель с удачным расположением, своя парковка отсутствует, но можно поставить машину на улице рядом. Вокруг много кафе и магазинов. Ресепшена нет, на дверях электронные замки - за пару часов до заселения за почту приходят 2 кода (от внешней двери и от номера).

Upon arrival there was nobody at the front desk so I waited. The woman I was somewhat greated by was far from pleasant and didn’t seem like she wanted to be there at all. Nothing was explained and no information leaflet for me to read through in my own time. When given my room key I started walking through the lobby but couldn’t see any signs for my room number. Went back to the desk to ask where to go for my room and was told ‘just follow it round’.
Very unhelpful and unwelcoming, not sure this lady should be at the face of the hotel.
Plus side, room was beautiful and well kept/clean. I was also lake side so got to watch the sunrise with my morning cuppa. Very refreshing views.

Lovely hotel room was smaller than expected and also the bathroom but it had everything we needed and was lovely and clean the breakfast was lovely catered for my gluten intolerance and the staff were really lovely especially Olivia who served us drinks for both nights nothing was too much trouble for her would highly recommend and we will be back

這個酒店對自駕的很友好，打車就有點遠了，下訂單的時候要注意，幾個人住就選幾個人，住的人數不同，價格也不同，小孩兒需要現場補25磅的加床費，服務員態度還好，但是對房間內多住人很敏感，多要床被子也需要來房間看看到底住幾個人，跟登記的是否一樣，酒店在山上，辦理入住的地方剛開始以為是一樓，辦完了發現是3樓，我們房間在一樓，沒有電梯，拎着行李走樓電下樓後，發現我家車就停在一樓旁邊，早知道就不把行李提去辦理入住多地方了，酒店帶個小池塘，有點小度假村的感覺，孩子跟池塘裏的鴨子玩的很開心，晚上在池塘邊可以看到漫天繁星，適合度假那種，酒店設施有點舊，泳池比較小衹適合幼兒園小朋友玩水，因為比較喜歡那個池塘和草坪，在酒店期間沒怎麼在房間裏呆著，都在户外了，所以衹有户外的照片

窗外既是如畫的風景。入住的感覺還是不錯的。
頂部的房間是兩間房和一個浴室，一間一個雙人床，另一間是兩張錯開放置的單人床。
要洗澡時，發現花灑打開就沒法關閉，也沒法調節水温，下樓找前台並沒有找到人，前台晚上是下班狀態。花灑就這樣開了一晚。於是第二天悲劇了，水已經往下滲漏了。老闆第二天上來好幾趟也沒法解決。表示很抱歉，要給我們退全款。
早餐是點餐的，在送來的菜單上點自己需要的套餐，在前台下班前送下去。
酒店還有游泳池，晚上十點關閉。

VVieraskäyttäjäStayed here several times, even a couple of times when they had only just re opened following each of the Covid lockdowns and always enjoyed, had a fab welcome and the rooms are clean.
Not saying its perfect for everyone as some of you will not be a fan of the gold and red decor in the rooms , reception and corridors. But its not shabby its just old fashioned.
The bathrooms are moden and the bar and restaurant have had a face lift with a not ultra moden colour scheme of cream and blue but it suits the building style.
Dont expect spa, gym or pool and dont expect room service or cocktails.
But you will always get a warm and friendly welcome and service.
The setting is off the beat and track , but worth finding this gem, at the side of the woods , with stream running over waterfall and rock oh and keep your eyes peeled for red squirrels.
Food is good at breakfast though no veggie sausages which some did complain about, food is good value in the evening though a limited choice of 4 starters 4 mains and 4 puds including a veggie option. Yorkshire portions for the main and loads of veg.
Bar prices higher than pub prices but not that bad for a hotel.

VVieraskäyttäjä£200 for a basic room for one night was a bit on the pricey side for me, however it was nice all the same. A few of the photos of the basic room are misleading. The photos show a four post double bed which is not the case. We found out later this is actually an executive room despite it being labeled basic.
We found out that the hotel location is accessible by bus from Oxenholme train station (despite being told the opposite) and has a great view of beautiful fields. Food in the hotel is good but expensive... My eyes nearly popped out their sockets when I saw the £8.00 charge just for the tiniest amount of table bread. I'd say this was probably the reason the restaurant was empty despite being told we need to book a table due to its popularity. Swimming pool and steam room are average for the price.
Staff are friendly and changed our room to a double bed room free of charge after mistakenly putting us in a twin bedroom.

AAmy’s TravelsI’ve booked Low Wood Bay a few times but this was the first time using trip.com - we got an excellent deal and the customer service was brilliant from both trip.com and Low Wood Bay. There had been heavy snowfall so things were a bit up in the air with whether we would be coming or not due to road closures but the staff were brilliant. Thankfully we did get to come for the night and we’d booked the spa the following day. It is one of the best spas I have been to. The views are stunning. The hotel itself is really lovely, fantastic location, extremely clean and all the staff were super friendly. Will definitely be coming to stay again and can’t recommend enough for a relaxing break.

PPumpknStayed in one of the 4 garden cabins. Each are angled in such a way that they are all private. Each has its own hot tub and log burner. The cabin was cosy at night and well maintained. The cabin has WiFi, a tv, tea/coffee station, sofa and ensuite. Towels are provided for the bathroom plus separate towels, a robe and slippers for the hot tub. Breakfast was buffet but included hot self-service english breakfast items. I have to give credit to the person on reception when I checked in who greeted me with a smile and was friendly and helpful. I'll definitely be back.

VVieraskäyttäjäThe Macdonald Old England Hotel is well situated, being just a stones throw from the lakeside and the shops in Bowness.
The staff are friendly and obliging and the service matches their attitude.
The breakfasts are fine, although the staff can sometimes be a bit slow in replenishing the tureens.
We did not use the Spa, so we cannot comment on that.
Overall, we found the hotel to have all the facilities that we were lookling for and we would be happy to stay there again.

VVieraskäyttäjäThe hotel is very well located only 5 mins walk from the main line railway station. The rooms were clean, spacious and the design allowed a lot of natural light. The staff were friendly and efficient, the bar prices were reasonable and the breakfast very good indeed. A lot of work has obviously been put into making this a very welcoming environment.
This was a short family break and we will definitely return again next year.
