"Room was spacious and very clean. Very comfortable with 2 pillows each bed. Toilet also very clean and has enough towels for 3 of us.
Hotel staff also was very friendly and helpful especially during check in. Breakfast buffet not many choices of food but still enough to make stomach full.
Location wise very good. Near to Pasar Philippines and next to Central Point mall. Easy to get anything around there.
Had a very pleasant stay and will consider coming back."

"Overall, the stay was okay and met basic expectations. The facilities provided were reasonable considering the price, so it’s fair not to expect too much. However, cleanliness—especially under the beds—needs more attention, as it was quite dusty. With better housekeeping in this area, the experience could be improved. "The hotel is located at a strategic location with lots of eateries downstairs and close distance by car to various attractions. Hotel room is clean with toiletries and mineral water provided. Can hardly hear any noises from the road despite it is situated next to a road, hence we all had a good sleep. A manual was also provided to facilitate the check in process, response from the person in charge is also swift. Overall is good."

"We had a very pleasant stay at Cityinn Hotel with our family. It is a new hotel and everything feels fresh, modern, and very well maintained. The room was spotless, you can really feel that it’s clean and new, which made us very comfortable staying there with our family.
All the basic needs were thoughtfully provided, from toiletries to clean towels and comfortable bedding. The room layout was practical and cosy, perfect for a family stay. The environment was quiet and relaxing, allowing us to rest well.
Overall, we were very satisfied with our stay. Cityinn Hotel is a great choice if you are looking for a clean, new, and comfortable hotel for a family trip. We would definitely consider staying here again on our next visit."

"I had a wonderful stay at Cititel Express Kota Kinabalu. The room was clean, nicely designed, and very comfortable, making it easy to relax after a day out. Breakfast was perfect—delicious and satisfying, with a good variety to start the morning right. The location is excellent, right in town with easy access to shops, restaurants, and attractions. Overall, it’s truly great value for money. I would happily recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a convenient and comfortable stay in Kota Kinabalu."

AAnonyymi käyttäjäBooked for romantic tent, same like the ad. Looks like a brand new tent, because the colour is still white compared to the others which is already yellowish and got a bit mould. Romantic tent have no shade, so the light shines through into the tent. Even so, the tent doesn't feel hot, the portable aircond keeps it cool inside. asked for keetle from the receptionist. need to ask for keys for private bathroom as they are having renovation during our stay.

TL;DR: This place feels more like a meditation centre than a hotel, it will not provide you with supplements. It's a bare room. You need to bring toothbrush&paste and buy drinks somewhere as it is not provided. No tv and fan. No in-house restaurant. There are mosquitoes at the garden near afternoon, and the balcony at night, but there are no insects in the room (family room). In exchange you will get a very clear and vivid Mt Kinabalu view in the near-dawn morning (where there is no mosquito), a working shower with heater, concrete floor that reduces nearby noise, and cold foggy experience.
Long:
This place is within the fog path so you will get the foggy experience. You can also see Mt. Kinabalu at the right time and it looks quite close (e.g. dawn 6 a.m.). You can even see the electric towers and resthouse, it's that close. Moreover, this place is more like a meditation centre than a hotel. It is visibly run down probably since covid as that is also when the in-house restaurant got closed down. Considering my experience as a recurrent visitor of Kundasang, mosquito has always been the least of my concern. Somehow this place has lots of them. We got bit quite a lot in a short span of time.
Undesirable / Cons:
-No water kettle, no supplements (water bottle, coffee pack, toothbrush, toothpaste, etc.). Porcelain mugs are provided though
-No in-house cafe/restaurant but nearby has a few (400 meters at least)
-No tv, no fan but cold in general
-Quite a lot of mosquito and moths outside at the garden place in the afternoon and at the balcony connecting the 2 buildings at night. There are no electric zapper.
-Seems a bit run down at the garden. 2 broken board pieces on the floor for example.
-It has no Qibla for muslim people, at least in family room
Desirable / Pros:
-Big room. Not smelly
-Is cement board floor
-Big single beds. Not smelly
-Clean bed. Fluffy cover.
-Water heater is working for family room at least
-Relatively clean inside room and at reception. No insects in room. No weird bugs around.
-Has a table and chairs in room
-Lots of electrical port
-Wifi provided by hotel is strong (2.4Ghz and 5Ghz
-Very near main road. So good road going towards the hotel
-Aki-Aki trail starting point is nearby. Plan to go next time so no experience as of this review
This place is not too bad. Not too good either. Personally, I wouldn't place this as my top place for the foggy and view considering other options but I don't mind returning if necessary. It will sure be much much better to highly recommended with much needed renovation and have some methods to deal with those mosquito.
p.s. There's a cute puppy that invites you at the entrance. 😂
p.s.s. I saw a greater coucal gliding into the forest in the morning!

SSamantha been stayed here for many times.. every time come visit kk will only choose this hotel due to its located in between Suria shopping mall and Wisma Merdeka and by walking distance to Gaya street .. however please take note this hotel a bit rundown due to years

VVieraskäyttäjäIt's a little out of town but I chose it for the close proximity to the beach and swimming ,which is about a 10min walk from the hotel. There are street food and drinks stalls available from about 3pm . Tanjung Aru beach is beautiful, uncrowded and the beach shelves away gently making it a safe swimming area. However, the beach had rubbish washed up and maintenance isn't a priority I guess. I swam everyday and didn't get sick ,that's a bonus.
The room ( the whole place)was tired looking, it could do with a lick of paint and maintenance. Room was clean when I got there but I strongly doubt it was cleaned in the entire time I was there for five days. Often had to ask for toilet paper , shampoo and shower gel , and coffee sachets etc ,basics to be stocked whenever housekeeping does their cleaning. Air con worked for me although the settings couldn't be altered !
The bed springs creak and you feel the springs when you sit on the bed but I slept ok only because I was usually exhausted from the day's activities . The beds and mattresses definitely need renewing though.
The fridge was mouldy and smelly , what a blooming shame : /
The safe was broken - hallelujah!
I kept my room door locked at all times only because Reception staff hardly looked up to see who comes and goes- they sit very low,almost out of view at their front desk. I wasn't convinced about their perception of safety especially as I'm a solo female traveller and I need to be alert and take great caution.

Reception is helpful but that depends who is present.
Lifts work fine without too much of a wait. The cafe on ground level serves an American breakfast but I couldn't tell you whether that's worth your while. It looked like Mary Celeste everytime I peeped in there so wasn't convinced about getting fed or a service. Therefore, I had fruit and snacks as standby .. There's a lovely restaurant a few yards from the hotel called the Yolo Seafood Restaurant which tends to open from 11.30am- delicious and inexpensive with friendly staff.
Grab taxi fare to city centre varies from MYR 7- 25 Ringgit ,the higher tariff if returning during commuter rush hours from city centre which is a 15- 25 min ride .
Would I stay here again ? I would actually knowing all its idiosyncrasis compared to so many awful or simplly mediocre accommodation charging an arm and a leg , I think Casuarina is just ok . Value for money? I don't think so .

Mouse in the room,cold response on information at midnight by Reception
Many knocks for check soon after breakfast
No proper guidance and services for near by islands…even we tried to go for timba timba islands but we waited but they tell the high boat price and low information

Positive Points:
1. Air-conditioning was very effective and kept the room comfortable throughout the stay.
2. Great window view – beautiful sea and jetty scenery that adds to the relaxing atmosphere. (see my attached picture)
3. Excellent location – conveniently close to eateries and the jetty, making it easy to get around.
4. Reasonably priced in-house food – offers good value for money for guests who prefer to dine in.
5. Complimentary extra bottled water was provided upon request, which was appreciated.
6. Friendly and helpful staff across all departments – from housekeeping, café, and maintenance to the front desk. Everyone was courteous and attentive.
7. Special mention to the chef – a very kind and gentlemanly person. On our first day, we ordered 6 fried eggs for breakfast, assuming they were included. The chef initially didn’t inform us of the RM2 charge per egg and kindly did not charge us for them. When we later tried to order again, he politely informed us about the charge. We truly appreciated his honesty and kind gesture.

Areas for Improvement:
1. Limited breakfast buffet selection – mainly local dishes such as chicken, eggs, vegetables, rice, or noodles. While the food was tasty, there were no options like fresh milk, cereal, or egg station. Fruit choices were also limited to just bananas every day.
2. Window leakage during heavy rain – rainwater entered the room. However, the staff responded promptly and mopped the floor immediately.
3. No robe hooks in the bathroom – makes it inconvenient to hang clothes or towels.
4. Shortage of bath towels – clean towels were only available in the late afternoon after laundry was returned.
5. Extra blanket charge – an additional around rm50-60 was required if requesting one more blanket, which felt a bit expensive.
6. Low water pressure in the shower – the water flow was quite weak, making the shower experience less enjoyable.
7. Housekeeping quality needs improvement – there was sand in the room, and although we informed the staff, it was not cleaned properly even after the feedback.
Extra Tip for Travellers:
There’s no laundry shop in Semporna town, so do remember to bring enough clothes for your stay.

VVieraskäyttäjä服務很好，從下訂單開始小敏就開始提供各種幫助，水屋簡潔温馨，餐食也還可以，服務人員都很熱情。可以看到海龜啊。安排的跳島遊也很好，到島上來接，送回碼頭。接機和送機都安排得很好，去機場安排的有些早1個小時20分鐘到機場了。1:55的飛機，11:20就到了，在機場等吧。
