When I saw where the hotel was located, I immediately knew that I wanted to stay there because I dreamed of seeing Amanoiwato Jinja. I went to the cave twice, in the morning and in the evening, there is a very beautiful road, and it only takes about 20 minutes to walk. It is also easy to get to Takachiho Gorge, the bus stop is a couple of minutes from the hotel. This was my first experience of staying in a traditional hotel in Japan, and I really liked everything. Delicious dinner and breakfast - I tried a traditional kaiseki dinner, and it was an amazing experience. Attentive, caring hotel staff, perfect cleanliness everywhere, amazing mountain air. Natural wood in the room decoration creates a feeling of warmth and comfort. In the bathroom, you can try Japanese cosmetics. In the evening, you can drink tea, sitting in a comfortable chair with a book. At first, the silence around is unusual, but for us, city dwellers, it is necessary. Since it is dark around, you can see the starry sky - you will not see this in the city. There is a free shuttle from the hotel to the traditional Yokagura show in the evening. For someone interested in mythology, this was very interesting. I did not get the hang of the hot tub right away and I still feel awkward about it, and I forgot to mention that I am allergic to onions, but it is my fault for forgetting to mention it. I would highly recommend the Ryokan Iwatoya, it was an amazing experience.

From the bottom of my heart, I’d like to thank all staff of the hotel. My 11-old son and I stayed there for just one night, because we were on our way to visit gorgeous Toungenkyu hydrangeas park in the other town, so we chose to stay in Hyugashi, and that was definitely the right decision! I didn’t know that there was no public transportation assess to the park, because it’s located far upon to the mountains. But I never give up  So, I decided to get to the park by hitchhiking! And one of kind managers of the hotel wrote the name of the park in Japanese characters on a big sheet of paper to be seen from far apart for drivers. Besides, he told us where it could be possible to stop a car. So we did it! First, we went to the nearest town by train, and tried the hitching there. There was a nice lady who took us to the park and back to Hyugashi, we were so grateful to her!!! The local people were kind to us everywhere whenever it was a restaurant or a station. We will never forget the kindness of the local people!!! We liked that izakaya on the first floor in the building. Moreover, we liked that nice quiet town Hyugashi because of its people! Location is very good, right next to JR station, there is a mall next to it. Hotel is very clean, staffs are very friendly. We stayed in summer, was assigned the top floor room, so the room was a bit hot during the day time, it was ok during the night time.

Stayed one night, location is a bit isolated in terms of restaurants and things to do. Definitely an outdated hotel and could do with a renovation, however the room was definitely very large for Japanese standards so the was a plus!(superior queen). If self driving there is a multistory carpark right behind hotel so that’s also a plus.

This is the best decision I’ve made during my trip in Miyazaki. I should have stayed longer here than I did in the previous booking. Almost everything is almost perfect, from the artificial hot spring to the traditional Japanese bedrooms, which are great additions to the Japanese experience. I believe it is one of the most affordable hotels in the area. The breakfast is a buffet that is included in my stay, and I had to add the Dinner buffet, which is very worth the price since the place doesn't have many restaurants nearby. The hotel is also within a 5-10 minute walk from the JR train station. The staff are also friendly. I definitely will be back here when I revisit Miyazaki soon. The day I visited was rainy, so I was unable to visit many places.

Miyazaki on pieni kaupunki, joten ympäri ei ole vaikeaa, jos jäät tähän hotelliin. On muutamia paikallisia linja-autoja hotelliin JR Miyazaki asemalta. 10 minuutin kävelymatkan päässä löydät lähes kaikki ostoksista izakaya. Paras osa haluan on sauna ja kuuma kevät. Se on ulko-ja sisällä kuuma kevät kylpyhuone ja sauna. Uima-allas julkisessa kylpyhuoneessa on täydellinen lotion, tonic, hius geeli, shaving muoto ja jopa pyyhe on tarjottu, joten sinun ei tarvitse tuoda omaa. Yleensä hieno hotelli.

The location is far from Miyazaki Station. It takes about 20 minutes on foot. If you need to take a bus to several sightseeing places, it is available nearby. The price includes breakfast but it only consists of two rice balls and miso soup. The room is spacious and new . There are many restaurants to choose from in the surrounding area. However, the air conditioner is noisy and does not function well. Amenities in the room must be collected from the reception even basic items like a toothbrush, comb, sleepwear, and mineral water are not provided in the room.

🛌 The room was perfectly suited for two people, even with two large pieces of luggage. A minor drawback was that the air conditioning felt a bit warm. 🌬️ 🏨 The hotel’s location near the JR train station and the shopping area is just a 15-minute walk. 🚙 Parking is available in the basement for 1000 Yen per night. I’d recommend dropping off luggage at the entrance before parking for convenience. 👩🏻💼 The staff were friendly and helpful, making our stay even more comfortable.

Arriving at the location we found out that it is as an Airbnb. Nobody is there to welcome you. Luckily my daughter speaks a little bit if Japanese. We contacted the owners by phone, explained the situation and received the code to open the key locker. So be advised to receive the code before going there, since trip.com has not a good client service. The house itself is well located, clean and well equipped. It was a nice experience to stay the night in an old samurai residence. Old town on walking distance. The shops too. A lot of restaurants closing at 5 pm. But you can cook/ prepare your dinner in the kitchen. Parking space is available.

橘通りにありとても便利です。提携駐車場が最初わかりづらかったですが通り沿いで近いのでスーツケースがあっても問題ないです。ロビーが、動線が交差する位置で手狭なので、チェックインがスムーズとは言えなかったのが残念でした。無人チェックインできる設備をもっと活用すればいいのにとも思いましたが、部屋鍵や浴場へのキーの説明などが必要で初めての人には分かりづらいので仕方がないのかなとも。朝ご飯は味がしっかりしていてご飯がすすむメニューを楽しむことができました。
