I have been staying at another hotel in the area a few times each year for the past 3 years, however having been asked twice at checkout for a tip from the front office staff, I was simply appalled and decided to check out Ria Park.
An absolutely fantastic of hotel and extremely worthy of its five star.
From the concierge to the front of house, waiting and housekeeping staff and pool service… Myself and both of my daughters (in theur20’s) had an absolutely wonderful time and plan to return again very soon.
Former Porta Nova Hotel since 2017 completely remodeled. Free breakfast, free Sauna and Turkish bath, free indoor and outdoor pool makes this place a bargain if you can get reasonable rates (65€ we paid per night). Buffet dinner 29€/Person + drinks is overpriced (local restaurant dinner incl. drinks is 15-20€/Person)
Breakfast buffet has huge selection, made to order eggs and stuff is a real plus.
Parking (still) free (incl. the roadside). Very nice personell all over - high recommened for Tavira! I recomend ”Restraurante O Simao” in residential area
Would stay again. approx. 1.5m from old town but less than 5 euro in Uber. Spotless clean. Staff very friendly and couldnt be more helpful. Great breakfast as part of room booking. Quiet at night but some bars and restaurants within 2 min walking distance.
Overall it is a solid 4.5 star hotel and experience. The location is unbeatable, with breath-taking beach and sea view just off the front desk, as well as our beach room. The beach room is highly recommended for someone into the ocean view. The facility and staff are great. The Mercado even sells medicine (we got Gasvicon) which my wife could use the day we were there. The only downside that makes it not a full 5 star is that the room, decoration, and furniture are a bit outdated.

Pro: Hotel Alba was very clean, the staff at breakfast were very hard working, if a plate was empty on the table, they would remove it straight away. Check in wasn't until 4pm which is a little late than usual but our room was ready by 3pm so we were allowed to go in a bit earlier. The room was a lovely size, plenty of space, comfortable bed and very good shower. Breakfast was very good - pastries/fruit and a little cooked breakfast - buffet style. Plenty of beds and umbrellas around the pool.
Con: The reception staff not very friendly and the 'bar' (which is just an array of alcohol bottles on the back shelf of reception) not great. Missing a trick here to not have a few more comfortable chairs/umbrellas around the top end of swimming pool and a 'mobile' bar and maybe serve snacks/toasties etc.

Завтрак достаточно хороший, ужин тоже, без изысков, но есть, что покушать, есть фрукты ( ананас, дыня, арбуз и апельсины), завтрак стоит 7,5; ужин с маленькой бутылочкой вина мне обошелся в 25 евро. Персонал на ресепшен очень внимательный, мне разрешили поменять дату завтрака и помогали с расписанием поездов. В номере было просторно и был балкон.
Hotel has great facilities and was very clean, though we were disappointed to realise that due to unsafe cliffs, it no longer offered direct access to the beach. Service should really be improved for such an expensive hotel:
1. Reception gave us 2 twin beds even though we specifically made a request at booking for double bed
2. Restaurants got my coffee orders wrong on multiple occasions throughout the stay
3. During the saturday bbq night, the hostess Priscilla made up a poor excuse not to give us a poolside table even though we were one of the earliest guests there. Her excuse was the remaining poolside tables were reserved for 4 families with dogs. We didn't see a single dog during the entire course of 2 hours, and the tables were given away to other couples for reasons unknown. This incident really upset us, and the fact that she had the audacity to make up such an excuse is appalling.
4. Gratuity was charged at 7.5% for every item, which is fine but what left a bad taste in the mouth is the hotel did it without informing customers upfront.

TTamelaNot my first time in Faro but chose this hotel for the rooms with balcony marina view. The hotel has a rich history and has been around since 1960s and its undergoing refurbishments in some areas.
The old rooms look dated and could do with better cleaning as previous occupant’s hair was found in the bathroom.
We loved the design & aesthetic looks of the new refurbished areas such as the spa, bathrooms, gym, pool & sauna but shame that there was a water leak in the indoor pool ceiling and rusty bits on the stainless steel railings. Considering it’s completed in Aug 2025, the hotel may need to do more due diligence to ensure the safety of guests.
As a non Portuguese speaker, I felt that the check-in staff can make more efforts in being warm and welcoming. I noticed that this hotel is one of the few hotels ive been that check-in staffs are seated instead of standing, making the process somehow casual & less welcoming. I also called in to make a request for a late check out and received a hostile response by a lady who said ‘No. We need the room back’.
We just got married the day before arriving & we are here to also celebrate my honeymoon & partner’s birthday. Weeks prior to arriving, I put in a request if the hotel could do a birthday special for him but this was not acknowledged.
As an avid traveller who has stayed in many hotels around the world, I am a little dissapointed with the lack of personalised attentive service provided by the hotel. If the view & location isn’t a concern, I recommend the nearby 3HB hotel. We enjoyed our stay there.
AP Eva senses have a great deal of potential, but they may be complacent at going beyond, as they are currently the only hotel at Faro marina. Additional employees like the elder gentleman pianist & hotel hairdresser were the warmest I’ve come across.

What doesn't strike us as normal, however, is the lack of little touches for a hotel in this category. No shampoo, no q-tips, just the same gel for washing hands and in the shower. No shower cap. An empty fridge bar. We appreciate the coffee machine and the bottle of water, but one normal coffee capsule and 3 decaffeinated coffee capsules... not logical...
We asked for a room with a bath when we booked (we were ”upgraded” without any request on our part, on a ”marina” view, but with a shower.
As we are not very nice customers, we didn't say anything.
The bedding is good. The pillows are quite thick, which can be uncomfortable for people with sensitive necks. 3 cushions are available, but they are all very dense.
The road is very noisy, subject to a few car rodeos at night.
I've heard that the rooftop is noisy in November, but fortunately this is not the case.
The staff are friendly and respond to requests.
The breakfast buffet is very comprehensive, but for the evening menu, this type of buffet seems less attractive, but will surely please some people.
The spa is very good, at 12.5 euros for one hour (equipped swimming pool, sauna, hammam, etc.).
There is a car park at the hotel for 6 euros a night, but free parking is available 200m from the hotel by the beach.
All in all, then, this is a fine hotel with a lot of potential, but some details clearly need to be reviewed to make it really nice.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at Block C in a wonderful location near the beach. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our time there, as the bedroom was spacious and beautifully designed. However, there were a few quirks that left us slightly puzzled.
Locating the signage for the establishment proved to be a small challenge, but it added a sense of adventure to our experience.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning in our room left something to be desired. It struggled to keep the temperature comfortably cool, and we often found ourselves feeling a bit hot. It would be great if this aspect could be improved to ensure a more comfortable stay.
Nevertheless, spending evenings on the balcony was a delightfully cozy and relaxed experience. The ambiance was inviting and lent itself to unwinding after a day of exploration. The surrounding garden and environment added to the overall charm, and we truly appreciated the pleasant surroundings.
I highly recommend visiting this place for a minimum stay of 2 to 3 days. Anything less would make the trip feel rushed, as there is so much to explore and enjoy. Despite the minor quirks, our overall experience was enjoyable and memorable. I'm grateful for the opportunity to have stayed here and would gladly return for another visit.

The experience began with a wonderful welcome at reception. Ina, the receptionist who greeted me, was incredibly friendly, warm, and highly professional. She kindly offered me an early check-in, which immediately made me feel like a valued and special guest. She also took the time to explain everything about the hotel, which I truly appreciated.
My room was fantastic — comfortable, beautiful, and perfectly prepared.
I would also like to give special thanks to the restaurant team, and especially to Mario. He is an incredible person — extremely attentive, caring, and genuinely dedicated to the guests. As a vegan, I was pleasantly surprised when he offered me a special food option that was not even part of the standard breakfast. The vegetables prepared for me were absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked. This thoughtful gesture meant a lot to me.
Another lady at the reception, whose name I unfortunately do not remember, was also very kind, welcoming, and helpful.
I give the hotel my highest rating and warmest recommendations. Thank you for making my stay so wonderful.

The hotel is located close to the city centre and has an honest price.
It's not the newest, as the floor and bathroom should be renovated but it's not so important if you are looking for a good, safe, cleaned place to stay for a very convenient price.
LLivinglifeThe hotel is a beautiful one, no doubt about it, but there are a few things that I wasn't happy with.
It is like most things you need to pay for. Needed to iron my clothes, I was told that I needed to pay for the service due to safety issues. Will get my stuff in 48 hours. If I wanted it earlier, I had to pay more. To get to the beach, I was i formed that I need to pay for a ferry to get me across... all this should have been said before a persons book. The hotel is a secluded, nice area. In order to navigate a taxi is a must unless one wants to walk for 30 minutes in the scrotching sun to catch the train or bus. Uber service is better than the taxi you would get from the airport as it is costly.
The food was good, in terms of variety ilI would say no, but it terms of taste yes great. Kudos to the chef. Staff are very helpful and understanding. Some drinks, however, are watered down. I love pina Colada, but wow, i had no clue what I got there.
Apart from that, I had a lovely stay, entertainment, the rooftop, top superb ( was there every evening).

AAnonyymi käyttäjäHotel is in perfect location within the historical site, the room is clean and comfy. Beautiful pool in the middle of the garden. Despite all ups, the downside was the service in general, however the reception was helpful when asked.
Tips:
Avoid staying the same floor as the reception because there is a staff room next to you, and the staff come to chitchat in the room and the hallway (the same hallway as guest doors, clearly echo).
Beware of hot food running out from breakfast way earlier than closing time, you cannot request those eggs, bacons, mushroom if it's runs out. even there are many guests coming in and was no hot food.
Like other comment says the hotel is full of potential and personally we think its a very peaceful & lovely place with historical charm. Just the frontline service staffs around the place still far from that so called well service.
House keeping were friendly and helpful, gardening maintained well.
Enjoyed the place and once learned to didnt expect any service, Its was the best way.
