VVieraskäyttäjäWe had a very short stay at this hotel. It lives up to its rating. We were picked up from the railway station. The receptionist was kind and helpful. The room was neat, clean and very comfortable. 100% recommend this hotel.

MMsJoyceHighly recommend! This hotel offers airport or railway station pickup free service. The hotel location is excellent and not so far for Mogaocave, the dunhuang night market, Mingsha Mountains.. The hotel room is super clean, wide, and has comfy.beds. Also, the hotel provided everything necessary Especially the hotel staff are very friendly and responsible for guests. We stayed there for 3 nights 4 days and the staff always helped us for traveling. They called a taxi for us to travel to tourist spots Even if they don't speak English , we communicate by translation application on the phone. They also bring us to pharmacy and supermarket. How they are wonderful and thankful. If we go there again, we will definitely stay there again. I traveled all over the world for 20 years, but I never met like the hotel and staff. Totally never forgetable hotel and staff. God bless forever! Thanks again!!!

BBerrrrrrrrrWe got free upgrade to the suite so that was nice. Very pretty river view and not as noisy as some of the reviews I've read. Probably because the weather was getting chilly. Room was very spacious, even for just the size of the bedroom alone. Bed was comfortable and not too soft. But I will say that the light switches in the rooms and also the smart toilet seat were very confusing. Strangely, it had a large bathtub area, but a separate and very squished shower closet. The water didn't quite drain properly also. Breakfast was okay. But considering how the city really is just a town in the desert, I'd say it's actually pretty good. The local restaurants are also options, but we had to get up super early for day trips, and didn't feel like freezing outside to look for food when it's still dark. Side note, the night market in town is nice but not much going on outside of that area. The hotel is not in the city centre, but since the city is small, taxi is the way to go. We actually end up just getting the phone number of one of the taxi driver, and called her whenever we planned to head out. I chose the hotel based on aesthetics and was not disappointed. But our suite was in the end of a very long hallway, so get ready to walk if you are not near the elevator.

FFoodadventureJust completed a wonderful three night stay at the Zhangye Holiday Inn. Perhaps most Silk Road tourists do not spend three nights in Zhangye but we wanted to visit both the popular and more “off the beaten path” historical sites nearby. This Holiday Inn is up to international standards - the staff was very professional, courteous and well trained, the rooms were modern and well-maintained, and even the buffet breakfast restaurant manager spoke English. This is probably one of the few (if not the only) more Westernized hotels in Zhangye) and we had a very good stay and experience in this hotel in Zhangye.

Many day tours required early pick up or we had to take a cab to the meeting place, so if the hotel can start serving breakfast at 6.30am, that would be better. I asked reception if there was coffee served during breakfast, and the lady staff said that they used to serve coffee but it was usually left untouched, so they stopped serving coffee. She said she would arrange for coffee to be served for us at breakfast. What we got was a very diluted brown murky drink 😂 I guess the locals do not know how to make a cup of coffee. Anyway, breakfast is Chinese style. But there was toast and jam!! ❤️ On check in, we were given some snacks samples which were great. And in the evening, a staff came to give us tasty yoghurt! Overall, service at this hotel is good!

VVieraskäyttäjäThis is the best hotel I have stayed in China including several 5 star hotels. Hotel staff are very helpful and accommodating, make you feel at home. The hotel facilities are relatively new, I especially like their laundry facilities, plenty of washers and dryers, great for family travelling with children. The free morning buffet has lots of choices at a beautiful grand restaurant. I strongly recommend this hotel during your stay at Dunhuang.

If you are using a Didi or Taxi to come in this hotel either from airport or from Mogao Exhibition Center , its called Dunhuang Mountain Villa . I noticed that taxi drivers or the App doesnt pull or know The Silk Road Dunhuang Hotel.

SSerena MandrileWe are an Italian family and we stayed at this hotel for around 10 days while we were fixing our motorhome in Zhangye. This hotel has the perfect position for us, near the beautiful and calm lake and with the city centre reachable with a short taxi drive. Our room at the ground floor had a private garden from which we enjoyed the sunshine every day, and my child was given a very cute camping tent that she loved to play with. One of the buildings in the hotel is a very nice restaurant that we enjoyed twice. Last but not least, the staff was so kind to us every day and extremely helpful with lot of things like ordering delivery food or receiving packages - as we don’t speak any Chinese at all, this was a blessing for us.
