We arrived very early at the hotel but the arrival experience is superb. I was assigned to room 309 at level 3 in 20mins. The room is very decent size enough for 1 person. The bed is queen size bed, the blanket pillows and mattress decent clean bit not too comfortable for my preference. Bedroom Experience:6/10 The bathroom is very spacious for this room size with seperate bathtub and standing shower. Wash basin is decent size for 1 person. Toilet is automatic and is very comfortable. Enjoyed the hot tub daily after work. Bathroom Experience: 7/10 I was assigned an ocean sea view room. The train horn sound is very distrubing my sleep. If you are light sleeper, please take it serious consideration. I was awake by train horn every 6am in the morning.

An excellent stay that truly reflects the warmth and professionalism of true Sri Lankan hospitality. The hotel was comfortable, efficient service, and a welcoming atmosphere. The staff were exceptionally courteous, attentive, and professional throughout my stay, making the experience seamless and enjoyable. Overall, a fantastic stay with outstanding service. Highly recommended for both business and leisure travelers.

The rooms are spacious and stylish, with comfortable beds, sleek bathrooms, and all the modern touches you’d expect from a high-end stay. Many rooms have lovely city or garden views, and everything feels fresh and well maintained. The service is a real highlight — friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming without ever being overbearing. Staff are always ready to help with taxis, recommendations, or little details that make the stay smooth. The restaurant and bar area are also excellent — whether you’re enjoying breakfast by the pool or evening cocktails, the food and presentation are consistently impressive. It’s a quiet escape from the bustle of Colombo but still close to the city’s main attractions, cafés, and shopping spots. Overall, Sofia Colombo offers a perfect mix of style, comfort, and personality. Ideal for travellers who appreciate boutique luxury with a local touch.

Visited Colombo during off-peak season so we managed to visit the city with less crowd. Views from any sea-facing room is incredible for its price - slight blocking with 2 towers in front but you can get a better unblocked view if you go for Premium tier rooms. I have to commend reception staff Anjala, who managed upsell me a Premium Seaview Room from a Superior Seaview Room. He took the time to explain the differences between each tier, accommodated to my budget constraints, and brought me to each room (empty ones of course) for a viewing before committing to an upgrade. After hearing that I was there on honeymoon (my husband would only arrive later), he relayed that to the rest of the team who took care of us wonderfully throughout our 4-day stay. Overall, room is clean and roomy, perfect for business calls with fast and reliable in-room wifi. Only downside is their TV doesn't have Netflix or Airplay, only Miracast for Android/Windows users. Tip for travellers: tell your driver this used to be Movenpick hotel - they will know where to drop you off.

I recently stayed at Amari Colombo in Colombo, and overall I had a wonderful experience. I was especially impressed with Nishel. Despite his young age, he was extremely professional, respectful, and attentive to our needs. He immediately helped us find the most suitable room for our stay and handled everything efficiently. Upekha was also very helpful and kind throughout our visit, always ready to assist with a smile. The only negative point was the early check-in policy. We arrived around 5:00 a.m. and were asked to pay an additional $150, which felt quite expensive and significantly higher than the average nightly rate listed on various booking platforms. Other than that, everything was excellent. The view was stunning, the rooms were spotless, and the breakfast was rich and delicious, offering many options from both local and international cuisine. I would definitely choose to stay here again. Thank you for the warm hospitality!

Words can’t express how grateful I am to the team at Shangri La Colombo. I was travelling with my grandma who is 91 years old so I wanted to book our stay at a place that I could count on . I have experienced the hospitality of Shangri-La at other parts of the world and I was hopeful that it would be the same. They did not disappoint. Right from Masood at the door to Dileka at breakfast and Waruna at the Concierge , our every need was met, and then some! It’s fully accessible if you have reduced mobility , and everyone who works there is constantly thinking ahead, so that you feel comfortable. The location is beautiful, the food is amazing and the hospitality is truly exceptional. I’m very grateful to the entire team for ensuring we had a memorable holiday.

Perfect location. Hotel rooms are big and clean. Customer care and room service was excellent. Recommend this place for your short vacations with family and friends.

Everything about mandarina Colombo was good. We stayed there for two nights and I can write very highly about it. They have an excellent location their infinity pool is very good and you can have a good view of the ocean from the infinity pool. It's located right opposite Marina Mall and it's walking distance from Marine drive and it's very near to the galle face beach which is the most happening area in Colombo. The breakfast spread was very good. Staff was very courteous. Very clean and premium stay! Highly recommended!
