Meininger Hotel Zürich Greencity

Good Value purpose built hotel/hostel for mature guests.If your travelling on a budget avoid Switzerland. Is on a suburban train line though not terribly noisy. Very new and clean Beds are squab type..eg no springs but comfortable. Simple room tv local channels Good curtains, central temp controlled You can open a window. Small desk and chair. Bed side lights and PS2 chargers Downstairs reception was efficient, 17chf for breakfast. A kitchen with fridges you can do your own cooking. At times can get crowded. You can buy pizza and sandwiches etc. lounge with foozeball. Washing machines are 7chf operated by an app. The drain plug was dirty and I found 5 Euro coins cleaning it out! The hotel could get rubber stoppers for the chairs in the room, as the floors are concrete you can hear them scraping all over. The room doors could do with seals as you can hear them too easily. The plug sockets have a recess so eg German and other connectors will not fit and most international connectors Also some type of clean drinking water tap would be good in the kitchen. This is a delightful, modern, stylish hotel, perfect for backpackers, families and all types of tourist. It’s located in a quiet, well laid out neighbourhood of Zurich which is only 5 mins to the nearest station on buses, and 10 mins by train to Zurich HBF. We arrived in the morning after a long night train journey, but the staff very kindly found us a room for us to check in very early (for a small fee). If you want to save money in Zurich this hotel is perfect because it has a fantastic self-service kitchen with well organised fridge (and labels for your food!), which is kept spotlessly clean. The room was a good size with comfortable beds and an excellent bathroom and shower. The atmosphere among the staff and guests was friendly, relaxed and very welcoming. The price of the room was also terrific value, especially given that Zürich is a very expensive city. When we come back to Zurich in future we will 100% book at this hotel

Small but functional room. Everything is reduced to the essentials, but nothing important is missing. There is no coffee maker or kettle in the room. Breakfast was good but not exceptional. Many guests preferred to buy food at the supermarket (5 minutes walk from the hotel) and eat it in the dining area. It's worth noting that you can cook your own meals in the guest kitchen (fully equipped). The staff is very friendly and helpful and is always ready to answer your questions. An underground car park is available for a fee (CHF 25 per night, until 2 pm the next day) just below the hotel (ask at the reception for the access card). A lift will take you directly to the floors. However, parking outside the hotel is cheaper if you arrive in the evening and leave early in the morning (CHF 2 per hour from 6am to 10pm - coins or app only). Convenient for visiting the Lindt Home of Chocolate, which can be reached in 20 minutes by car. Note that this is a cashless hotel.

DO NOT STAY HERE - THEY STOLE MONEY FROM OUR BANK ACCOUNT. WE TRIED TO REDUCE THE LENGTH OF STAY AND THEY INCREASED OUR OVERALL STAY AMOUNT AND TOOK THE WHOLE AMOUNT. We are a young family and they took nearly £400 our of our account for a stay that didn't happen. They were uncontactable by phone and did not reply to any emails. I am DISGUSTED. Travelers - BEWARE!! THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!! PLEASE STEER CLEAR!!

Muy buen hostel, con la calidad propia de Meininger. Alejado del centro, pero bien comunicado por tren. Aunque en la zona no hay absolutamente nada, a 300 metros hay un sepermercado Spar con todo lo necesario. Muy buena atención y wifi. Bien en limpieza.

I dont like it. Dirty rooms, stuffy hotel and very bad customer service. Far from the city center. You dont get daily cleaning in the rooms. Breakfast is very expensive. Laundry was smelly and half of the machines were broken. Not staying here again
