Guggital Hotel Restaurant

Durch Insta sind wir auf das Guggital aufmerksam geworden. Wieso sind wir nur nicht schon früher dorthin gegangen? Wir waren zum Mittagessen dort. Mit dem Bus vom Bahnhof in 8 Minuten vor der Türe des Hauses. Die Aussicht vom Restaurant und von der Terrasse ist traumhaft. Freundliches Personal macht den Aufenthalt perfekt. Und dann das Essen. Zuerst wird das Auge verwöhnt, dann der Gaumen. Schön angerichtet und sehr harmonisch abgestimmt. Die Karte nicht zu gross, aber sehr vielflältig. Und zum Dessert unbedingt die eisige Version der Zuger Kirschtorte probieren. Schon die ist ein Ausflug wert. Wir danken der Familie Elsener und dem Team für diesen schönen Breakout.

The best thing about this hotel is its location with lovely views over the lake. However you should be aware that it is situated out of town on the hills behind, so it is not convenient if you want to go into the city, for example to find somewhere to eat. The rooms were of a good size, clean and comfortable. One minor disappointment was the temperature of the water in the bathroom - just on the warm side of tepid. The restaurant served wholesome, uncomplicated meals. The breakfast was adequate at best - I have had much more generous breakfasts at 3 star hotels in Switzerland. The overall price for room and breakfast was reasonable by Swiss standards.
