We enjoyed a lovely table outside overlooking sea, stunningly beautiful sunset, as we went to supper early each evening. There was always something we could enjoy eating at the buffet for starter & main, although only either very sugary, processed desserts or at the other end of the spectrum, fruit, were available for pudding (nothing in between like, say, crème caramel or crème brûlée- nor was there natural yogurt to accompany fruit in the evening…but we of course managed). We were fully prepared for sugary ‘fake’ juices & our expectations were met. We kicked ourselves for only discovering on our last day that pina colada was inclusive (was not even listed on drinks menu). The inclusive wine was drinkable. Proper coffee was only available up at main bar which was several flights of steps above & so quite far from pool/beach level. The restaurant staff were mostly very nice, professional & courteous (the egg chef was very dour one morning & omelette not good on that occasion but think he was just having an off day, as was fine on other days!) The TUI reps were really super & great at their jobs, were helpful with our tours and activities, and we really loved our Paint and Wine session and the quizzes. The Dubrovnik tour was a very long day (about 2.5 hours each way) but we’d been prepared for that & it felt worth it in case we never get back there again. Beach was lovely (though there were quite a few bits in the stones if you looked closely, like old cigarette butts). There were pleasant pine trees for partial shade. We paid for sunbeds & umbrella as pool area was too packed (because the whole hotel property is on only a thin strip of land between mountains & sea). Sea was beautiful, really enjoyed swimming most days (especially after we removed some old pieces of plastic bag/wrappers that clearly had been floating around in the sea for some time - it would reflect better on hotel if hotel staff could practice a bit more stewardship to help keep beach and adjacent sea freer of rubbish, even though beach is public). Room was ok (quite narrow & simply decorated) & overlooked pool & sea. Bathroom & wardrobes all fine & cleaning fine. Advance room booking system had been a bit tricky. There was constant low level humming, which I’d thought was because I hadn’t turned off the air on properly, but it was from hotel generators not far from our room, and it did disturb my sleep a bit. Hotel itself was in a lovely position on the famous long coast road (though the 2hr transfer after a flight felt very long), and in essence is an impressive building from pre-1980s era we’re guessing. The steps leading down to beach are lovely real stone (although lots of steps to navigate for anyone with mobility issues). Building decor & what little artwork there was was plain and there were lots of featureless white wall areas (plus one wall with a weird green patchy grasslike textured expanse) that could have been much more stylish eg if nice tiles or other ta
