Hotel St John Villas

Our second time staying at St. John Villas, it is extremely restful & quiet, being on the hillside above Tsilivi itself. The trade-off for this is that there is a 10 minute walk down the hill to the town, which is pleasant enough - but not so pleasant making the return journey - the 8-10 euros for a taxi is a no-brainer! We had a couple of small issues with the villa which were dealt with immediately by the staff with no fuss. We will definitely stay here again.

Fantastic villa, amazing pool We have just finished our 3rd visit to St John’s villas. Always requested & stayed in the 3 bedroom orchid villa. Excellent bedroom sizes, 3 bathrooms (2ensuite) amazing pool area. Daily minimal housekeeping, change towels, remove rubbish & make beds etc. Had an issue with the main en-suite bathroom as they have removed the Bath & replaced with a huge shower. Unfortunately the shower didn’t drain away at all and had to visit reception 3 times. Visiting again at the end of October so hopefully they’ll manage to fix the drain! Overall a fantastic holiday

First of all - I do understand star ratings vary from country to country. However, there is absolutely no way this Resort is 5* ……. 2.5* is more realistic We arrived late evening- We had arranged private transfer through the hotel using What’s App -driver was waiting in arrivals hall for us - he was polite and helped us with our bags - all went well. RECEPTION Check-In First impression of reception was not great. Broken woodwork around the entrance…..lots of weeds in garden area Reception area is basic Maria was friendly and checked us in swiftly. Found it very strange that no details of car hire/trips were available for perusal Staff appeared quite embarrassed to say only Manager deals with this. We did arrange car hire through manager - all went well - car although not new was acceptable. Car hire staff polite & friendly Check-out We asked for print out of our bill the day before - checked and all fine. When went to pay on departure- said bill was €38 more. On checking receipts an extra one had been slipped in dated early into our stay and had been signed Joe Bloggs!! RESTAURANT We were advised to head up to Noya Restaurant for food as last orders were 11pm and Restaurant & Bar area closed at 11:30pm we were the only guests in the restaurant ….. we didn’t order a lot of food. The restaurant has an unfortunate layout as it has 6/7 steps leading down into the seating area. The waiters stood at top of the steps ….. felt very much like “Big Brother” was watching us!! We attended restaurant the nxt morning - quite busy - was lovely and bright. Tables well set out and breakfast was presented well. Great choice on menu. The nxt time we attended for breakfast - we were sat close to a couple who were having an issue with cracked tea/coffee pot- we witnessed the waiter lick his finger to check if it was indeed a crack. The waiter did not appear to appreciate the severity/possible outcome of cracked pot. I think this has been reviewed under the name David. Suddenly & swiftly we were told this area of restaurant was for “The Suites” we were asked to move to other side of restaurant for “The Villas” All very strange as same menu. We were sat alone in “The Villas” side When we went to order our coffee & fruit juice we were told this was not included in “The Villas” side even altho menu was identical……… weird!! We had dinner in NOYA 5 times and found the food good. Service however was erratic!! Appeared to lack any kind of leadership. Always 5/6 staff on but usually chaotic There was always a problem with which menu we were presented with Suites as I understand are Half Board with a choice from reduced menu Villas are Al La Carte You would think in this day in age they would have a system to know the difference - be it manual or digital Suites were served water in a jug Villas had to pay for bottled water. Some waiters appeared to be in training and made a good few silly errors - on one occasion pouring wine

Das Resort St. John Suites nur für Erwachsene ist ein luxuriöses, ruhiges Hotel, das einen wunderschönen Blick auf die umliegenden Hügel und das Meer bietet. Die Verpflegung HP war köstlich und abwechslungsreich. Die Suiten sind großzügig, sauber und luxuriös ausgestattet. Der private Pool mit Sonnenliegen und Schirm, war angenehm geheizt. Unsere Suite hatte freien Meerblick und war nicht einsehbar. Wir konnten alle Hüllen fallen lassen. Das Personal ist ausgesprochen freundlich, hilfsbereit und ist professionell mit allen Anliegen umgegangen. Sehr angenehm waren die Essenszeiten!!! Frühstück von 7 - 11 Uhr und anschließen bis 23 Uhr konnten wir unsere 2. Mahlzeit einnehmen. Wir mussten nicht bis 19 Uhr warten. Das Hotel hat mindestens 5 Sterne verdient. Gerne kommen wir wieder in das "Hotel St. John Suites Adults Only" und freuen uns jetzt schon auf ein Wiedersehen .

Where to begin? Before arriving here on September 30 I was contacted personally by the General Manager, Narkis, asking me if I require a private transfer from the airport. I said yes as it’s my first holiday with my new partner and I wanted everything to be seamless. She emailed me back saying “ that’s all done for you”. We arrived at the airport around 2000 after a very long day, flying in from Newcastle and Bristol respectively. There was no transport. I called the hotel and they assured me that the driver was on site and “looking for us”. We were stood by the arrivals door??!!! This went on for over an hour when eventually someone turned up. They told me that no cab had been booked whatsoever. We arrived at the venue around 2145 and requested dinner. The restaurant is advertised as being open until 2330 with last orders at 2300. We were stood over by the restaurant staff and told that we had to have ALL our food brought out simultaneously; starters, mains and desserts as they were closing at 2300. The food arrived at 2245. Day 2. I sought out Narkis around 1030 and confronted her re the missing cab. Firstly, she denied any knowledge of booking it and our email conversation. When I produced her booking email she snapped yes yes I don’t need to see that and admitted that she’d forgotten to do it. Still, I had had to pay the 35 euros for the missing cab. We have not had a single meal in this place without a drama. It’s never correct and basically it’s worse than Fawlty Towers ‘Waldorf Salad’ sketch. Tonight is yet another case in point. We are so sick and tired of the abhorration that is Noya restaurant that we ordered room service at a 20% premium. Once again the order was wrong ( and freezing ). I called down and spoke to Micheal ( restaurant manager ) who apologised profusely and then sent the wrong thing again. It was out of desperation thst we used room service for a second time because the first time we used it, the staff marched in whilst my girlfriend was in a shower robe and took our half eaten food away without either knocking or asking. Before they took it, she had told them that we were not finished eating. No notice was taken whatsoever. I was actually in the toilet and my girlfriend as alone with two men in our room uninvited. We ordered a hire car for 1030 Friday, again through Narkis. It was 2 1/2 hours late. We lost a deposit we had placed for a lunch as we could not make the 1/2 hour tolerance window. We are so desperate to get out of here that we sent a full report to Luxury Escapes begging them to find us an alternative and it was summarily blocked by Narkis. Basically this place a shambles because there is no management guidance or leadership. Narkis and Micheal run their respective tenure like own little club. They never interact with the customers. We stayed here for 11 days in September . We were sold a package holiday by a well known brand as a resort with a spa . There is no spa . The resort have even taken down the lettering at reception which used to say spa . Overall the suite and facilities were nice . . The staff were exceptional . The food is ok depending on what you want . Nothing was too much trouble for the staff especially Maria ( reception ) and Abdul ( golf cart driver ) they both went above and beyond to help . We were in suite 304 which really didn’t get much sun and the pics are of the original suites in the numbers starting 1 . Overall we had a lovely holiday but won’t go back as we paid £4.5K for 11 days B &B for a spa resort which had no spa I’m not complaining as this was a much needed holiday however, there are other places where you would get more for your money
