Microtel Inn & Suites by Wyndham York

We had been coming up here for years I absolutely loved the hotel, the service and the price, but since the change over to a new ownership, everything has gone downhill. We just finished a stay there. The breakfast was not great, eggs were runny and watery. It was very limited food available. There was no bottled water. The coffee is horrible. They used to be a lot more on the menu for breakfast, but there isn’t any more The hotel smells musty. The rugs aren’t clean the screens in our windows in our room had holes in it. There was a fly in our room. There was stains on the pillowcases and sheets. We went down the pool nobody was in it. It was cold and not warm and inviting like it used to be and the guy assistant manager was actually cleaning the other end of it with a testing kit. My daughter broke out with a rash all over her legs and had to go to walk-in to check to see if it was mites or anything else you could’ve been allergic to on that bed. It happened right after she woke up in the morning they gave her a steroid to use for a week we asked for a discount because we got switched from a suite to a regular room because she wouldn’t sleep in that bed in fear that it might be might when they said no refund. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone in my family. We’re actually thinking of leaving one night and going someplace else but we didn’t. I sure wish it was like it was before in the past when Nancy was there everything was so much better when we went out for girls weekend. They are definitely in need of repairs. There is an air conditioner on front with a board holding it up. The TV had limited channels and the remote control arrows did not work.

This hotel felt very unsafe. We were at a party und returned to the hotel about 1:30am. There was no one at the front desk and there was a young man who walked down the hall, out the front door and was gone. There is no cell reception at all.

I spent the night at the hotel for my birthday with family, the hotel lobby and room were clean, I had a room that had a door inside the room, that was an adjoining room next door, me and my sister booked separate rooms. She requested adjoining rooms, when we arrived we were told the hotel was fully booked and received rooms on different floors, not a big deal. The location is a quiet area about 12 minutes to beach I had a regular room, which was small but had everything I needed. She booked a suite in case her son stayed over, which was very nice. The free breakfast was ok, not a lot of options, I didn't like the scrambled eggs, maybe powdered eggs and no yogurt, but plenty of seating, I would stay there again. The people next door were a little loud, but were quiet before bedtime.

Air conditioning units need to be serviced professionally. Strong smell of mold coming from room air conditioners. The room we had and our friends that stayed in another room the week prior. We have stayed for years and now must look elsewhere.

The staff was very friendly, and the free hot breakfast was great . Rooms were very clean. Was very quiet and beds were very comfortable. Would definitely recommend.
