Louis Ledra Beach

Smaller and very friendly hotel, great staff, fabulous food choices, great pool, superb location right on the beach.

Visited just as the hotel opened in late February, the hotel was soon surprisingly busy. Firstly, the staff are great, reception, bar, restaurant and entertainment tram. Everyone we met was polite and efficient , a credit to the hotel. There was entertainment on all day and evening, not something we were really bothered about , but nice to have the option . Some outside acts mixed with karaoke/quizzes etc . The evening entertainment room is very dated. The main public areas are well presented , with great service on the lobby bar, main restaurant and pool bar. I was impressed by the quality and variety of food on the buffet, the pool snack bar was also decent. The only issue was the buffet food could have been hotter , often barely warm. We also ate at the Italian on our last evening, as it appeared did most of the other guests . The food and wine were lovely and the staff did their best to manage, it was just absolutely heaving and chaotic. There are some areas that really require improvement. Our bedroom had a great shower and really comfortable bed, with lots of storage . It was however very tired in places with gaps in the laminate flooring and just wear and tear. The corridors to the rooms are grubby, filthy carpets which resembled a travelodge . There was also building work at the hotel next door , which we overlooked, starting at 7am each morning . The pool area also requires some upgrading, lots of cracked paving stones, weeds coming through etc. The pool toilets are shocking. They were closed for the first two days, with a reported leak, although open and functioning for the rest of the holiday, they still resembled a building project. Not anything I would expect from a 4 * hotel . Hopefully the rest of the hotel will be brought up the the standard of the bar/restaurant renovations, making it a really lovely holiday destination.

This is a lovely hotel. It has the most relaxed atmosphere. No trouble getting a sun bed, no queues for the restaurant, no standing at the bar waiting to be served, as they come to your table. Lovely food and the staff are great, which is why we go back there every year at least once. You will find a lot of repeaters which says a lot. No inflatables allowed in the pool, which can disappoint families with youngsters, but for me, its great. Looking forward to going again in April 25.
